I was looking through the Burstcoin source code, and one thing that worries me about future scalability is the hard-coded MAX_NUMBER_OF_TRANSACTIONS constant, which limits the number of transactions per block to 255. This is similar to the 1 MB block size limit that is currently affecting bitcoin. Bitcoin is bound by this block size limit, and therefore the bitcoin network can only process a maximum of 7 transactions per second. Burstcoin has a similar limit right now, but its limit is 63 tx/sec. This gives Burstcoin more time to solve the problem - but since solving it requires a hard fork,  I think it would be better to solve the problem now while the coin is still young.

I think the best solution is something along the lines of Gavin Andreson's proposal to increase the maximum block size by 50% per year. I think in Burstcoin's case, the solution should be to increase the maximum number of transactions per block by 3.45% per month (which is about equal to a 50% increase per year).

This is an important change for the future scalability of Burstcoin. And it's an important change to make now, because the more the coin matures, the more difficult it will be to introduce a successful hard fork.

If you're interested, @burstcoin, I'd be willing to take a crack at coding up this change in behavior.

I am solo mining and getting some or nothing last 2-3 days.
Looks like diff increased a lot? Block explorer does not say so.
150Tb cluster

i got 105TB and i´m mining 3-6 blocks a day constantly since weeks.
also there is no diff increase.

perhaps you have another issue.

That was my thought also... and considering something from my side to be an issue.

check that your miner don't trigger the ddos protection in your central wallet and that all system clocks are synced (wallet and miner).
also sometimes it seemed to help to restart the wallet to get fresh peers.
i played over the weekend with the latest gpu plotter a bit on ubuntu (https://github.com/bhamon/gpuPlotGenerator) with a embedded amd gpu which created plotfiles filled with zeros Undecided
i also had days finding no blocks and then finding 8-10 within 24h.
everything depends how well your plots play with the previous block signature  Cheesy

Are you BURST-94CV-7DGV-CTHZ-EQ7N8 ? The graph looks pretty normal to me.
Well, could be sheer luck or the absence thereof, you just have a statistical chance, no entitlement of finding a block.

What miner engine are you using ? I've had problems with the original java miner, but that was solved by restarting all instances daily. No error on "misbehaving" miners was given, I had to try a few things to find that.

Also, they don't like running in tight memory conditions, the amount of memory you need to provide seems to be directly related to the stagger in plot files. equal plots sizes with 16k and 360k stagger use 24gb vs. 8 gb on my system, IIRC - ditched all small files weeks ago.

My wallet feeding 8 instances its pretty stable, though.

I don't see a big diff increase. Seems pretty much constant for the last few days.

Also, 150tb... nice

Thank you for the startup Burstcoins.  Grin Already sent back the coins.

Note: The faucets don't work. It must be because it's the older wallet version.

Just noticed from the screen snapshot in the above post that it says "Automatic Transactions" in the UI - this should be changed to "Automated Transactions".

Makes no sense to sell cheap as the network difficulty has consistently gone up.

Assuming you have 10 10TB Western Digital HDD http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2014/09/the-worlds-biggest-hard-drive-is-now-10tb-not-8tb-2/
You only get at current price:
Coins per hour   1070 (0.002 BTC)
Coins per day   25686 (0.039 BTC)
Coins per month   770593 (1.156 BTC)
Estimated network size   10844 TB

Might as well just buy. Unless you have an HDD mining farm.

Guys, how do you withdraw from Bittrex? First time user of the Burst wallet. I tried the faucets but I haven't receive any. My understanding is: sending to new wallets need the public key. The faucets don't require it. Also it seems the new Burst wallet don't show the public key.

Can any of you send me a few Burstcoins to get the wallet started. Thanks.  Grin

Don't get me wrong, I love coin, have almost 1% of the supply.  My point was, if anyone is looking to acquire the coin for an investment, it might make more sense to just buy and hold it.  Or if you have a lot of storage, mine it and hold it.  A little bit of storage isn't going to do much.

With 4GB you won't make much at all, if anything.

Even 4TB you'll get about 35k coins per month which is currently $15

How much plots can I make on 4GB space?
16384 I think but that won't get you much burst

Everyone's gotta start someplace, 4TB will at least give you a good place to learn about plotting and setting up the miner.

I'm not real
none is using blago miner with 20TB plot and windows 7?

it is enough 16GB of ram???

or i need more??

thanks!!!
i'm up to 87TB on win7 using Blago's miner (64GB ram), but i have to stagger all drives/plots on threads, I run 8 threads at once, running more causes memory problems, it took a while to find the "best" order of drives per thread, it takes about 128-135 seconds to read through all 87TB of drives and plots

I want to run a node. I got a fix IP, I got 100 MB line, I got a NAT router with port forwarding.

I followed the instructions of NXT, but by entering the information for the hallmark, it ends in page not found.
What do I need to change to get over that point?

whats the benefit, if i run a node? could someone explain?
