I would love to get some opinions on this; I've been pondering for a while and would like some outside feedback.

Let's say one has a hypothetical 100TB of plots. Is it better to solo mine with this or distribute it across the various pools? At first glance I would think solo-ing would be better, but with increasing difficulty I am not sure.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Anyone soloing with a 50TB+ plot want to share how many blocks they are getting per day?

SOLO MINING!!!
ofcourse!!!

read here!!!

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.9745050

and then check bursts/day here with 100TB http://burstcoin.eu/calculator

it is not possible !!!!

Script author here. It counts only unique miners who found a block past day. In layman terms, miners which have significant impact on pool performance (more of fast miners for same amount of pool hashrate = more diversity)

ok!!!

this explain the number posted!!!

and is ok fo me!

Interesting to note that koko's pool and mine, are even in size. Smiley

Past 1 day(s), out of 8431TB

-- solo 5446TB [65%, 192 miners]

-- devpool 1502TB [18%, 40 miners] - dev v2

-- forumpool 273TB [3%, 10 miners] -My Pool Smiley

-- burstpool 868TB [10%, 30 miners] - All 3 of Uray's pools.

-- kokopool 272TB [3%, 12 miners] - obviously cryptomining.farm

-- zippopool 57TB [1%, 2 miners]

-- PCFiLpool 23TB [0%, 1 miners] --

hmmm. my little tool burst pool v2 stat for the dev pool is giving me a actual number of 506 miners... how did you get this numbers?

http://webchat.freenode.net/ @ channel : #burst-coin
with command .s i.e. (dot)s

I learnt it from crowetic Smiley

His pool is doing fine for past couple of weeks (number of miners almost doubled this week, from 59 to 100+)

It's very unstable pool.
I will try http://cryptomining.farm

i'm mining ther since uray's pool become instable....
good services....

not high payout..
but not for pool performance!!!

just for network size increase!!!

the first big number is your account number
the second is the nonce from your plot found for the currently block

Quote
{result: success, requestProcessingTime: 205, deadline:67087718}
205 is the response time from the server you are connected to.
deadline is the number of seconds from your nonce above (this is the time in seconds you have to wait if no better candidates are found.)

2TB in 15 days is way too long, I have an i7-4910QM, and takes me about 10 hours to plot a 1TB drive.

hope this helps

Yes, it helps a lot! The deadline number is in the order of millions usually, I hope that is milliseconds! Do you know what the deadline time depends on?

the generation parameters I used are:
run_generate.sh ACCOUNTID 1 8300000 8191
which should have been: start from plot 1, to go plot 8millionsomething, break it in 8191 plots blocks, but I didn't specify a thread number. Is the default 1 thread (which.. could explain the long time)? 1 thread per core sounds about right?

Say i want to restart the plotting, is it enough to delete the current file where the plot is generating? Or format the disk?

Thanks again
T.

Hello,

can someone please explain exactly what does this print-out mean:

New best: 12093820...39:760923
Submitting share
{result: success, requestProcessingTime: 205, deadline:67087718}

The questions in particular are (please pardon if they are very basic):
  • I am just testing out so I should be solo-mining, submitting share to who?
  • Does it mean that is a candidate for a block, which will turn into a block in 205s if no better candidates are found?
  • What is an estimate of the new blocks/minute with the actual burst network power?
  • Deadline.. I though it could be some timestamp, but it's not a unix epoch, so I have no idea what that is:)
  • What does the requestProcessingTime depend on? The network size?

thank you very much for your patience!
T.

EDIT:
also.. I'm puzzled by the plotting times:) I'm plotting 2Tb in about 15 days, is that normal or am I just way wrong? It is an external Usb3.0 drive with external power source, mounted via Ubuntu)

what happend with burst eu pool?

You mean uray's pool? It's apparently been down since block 41203 I think. Now I can't get it to load in my browser at all, just that green pinwheel thing going round and round.

I'm switching over to burst.ga until it's back online.

should consider http://cryptomining.farm/ big bonus at 475 miner...389 right now
[---]

How will the bonus be payed out? Anyone knows?

I think @475 miners he will transfer it to the pool balance

1.1 million

If the 1.1 is just dumped into the pool balance, it will be unfair payout to miners, the larger miners, and the ones hitting lower shares during the dump, will get majority of the coins. I know because I tried this on a smaller level with my pool (that currently runs the same code as koko's. But not for long!)

your right

but koko said that he will spread the bonus in 2 days

Right, but either way you do it, it's still going to be unfair bias toward larger miners. But, then again, I guess how else are you going to do the little bonus if not this way? There are other things that come to mind, but would require a ton more work. lol

If that's true, it's pretty sick. The payouts will be massive.

Can you confirm, koko?

I have assets up for sale as I'm not satisfied with the payouts.  If there's an upcoming bonus like this then I'll pull out.

the payout will be way better on the next asset round it will be 256tb mining for asset holders

then 1024tb...
then 2048tb...

All assets I had for sale has been bought before I had a chance to pull out.  Buyer probably saw your post. Cheesy
I guess I'll stop selling my remaining assets to give next round a chance.

that is how my son came to this world.....lmaol
