I'd be careful depending too much on info coming from burstnation. "Official" is a self-appointed term by the mods over there. That forum is heavily moderated (bans are issued quickly if mods don't like what you say, especially for talking about assets they don't manage).

The first Burst forum, https://forums.burst-team.us, is censorship-free, with tons of people willing to help.

To be honest with you that is the only information I trust coming from Burst Nation as on the other forum the mods there lie about a lot of things and try and stir up trouble in the Burst community. Also the guys over at Burst Nation seem to be the only ones doing all the hard work at making Burst what it is today. Just look what one of the coders has done with the new wallet and plus all the PR that Burst Nation is putting out there. You say there are tons of people willing to help over at the Burst team forum but when I go there it's like a ghost town with not much action at all. Burst Nation might be heavily moderated when it comes to assets and there is a good reason for that as they are looking out for the Burst community when it comes to investing in assets unlike over at the other forum where they allowed a minor under the age of 18 to own and run an asset with thousands of dollars from people that invested in the asset not knowing that it was a child running it and they verified this child to allow him to run the asset. So that is why over at Burst Nation they are strict on assets. I'm not here to start any arguments as I'm just stating the facts.

Hello
I have 2x Seagate IronWolf 8TB in Raid 0 (mb raid).
I7 920 12Gb Ddr3
I made a .bat for wplotgenerator.
Like this :
Code:
wplotgenerator 0 58593750 12288 8 /async
But I get only 5379 nonces/min is it normal ?
It will take soooo long.
Is there something wrong ?

So I have not read extensively on burst,

Can anyone tell me if burst mining is worth getting into as of today?

A large portion of the PoC rewards have already been mined. That said: yes, it is for sure worth mining today, as Burst mining requires trivial amounts of electricity. Feel free to join us at https://forums.burst-team.us if you have more detailed questions about Burst mining.  Smiley

Currently plotting 3.5 TB for burst, any recommendations?

I recommend Blago's XPlotter for plotting. It creates optimized plots in one go (back in the day, generating plots and then "optimizing" them was a 2-step, sequential process). I also use his miner for my 40tb, and works well for me. Also, look for a pool that doesn't have a maximum deadline if 3.5 tb is your total space.
I currently have the plotter built into the wallet working, would you say to continue with this or to cancel and move to blago's xplotter and again would the miner utilized in the standard wallet be effective or also worth switching to his miner? What does your 40tb setup consist of and could you link me to your workers?

Need recommendations please.

I am planning to get ready to burstcoin mine.

I have my local wallet setup with chain downloaded.

How/where do I start mining on a hdd?

Did you already plot your HDD?  I would recommend going to one of the BURST specific sites -  burstnation.com or https://forums.burst-team.us

Both have links to videos and resources explaining mining.  Or go to YouTube and search appropriate terms.

If you haven't plotted yet it can take some time fyi.  But it's a one time thing.  Overall the process is pretty simple, I am not a tech guy and at all and got it going from the videos and a couple of questions.

No, have not plotted yet, still waiting on amazon to ship/deliver my darn icydock hdd station to burst on my 1tb.
I'll check out the videos as I already have. But if I recall I didnt see setting up local wallet for a pool. I looked at this pool http://pool.burstcoin.biz/ and cannot find a registration/login link.

I haven't checked out the wallets from Burstnation yet... but for the wallets you can download from www.burst-team.us all you do is literally click "start mining" (down at the bottom) and you get a choice of pools that are pre-loaded in the wallet.  Obviously assuming you've already plotted some space in your HDD.  There may be another step or two but it's not complicated.

Hi guys. Will the following drive work well with burst mining? what are the drawbacks of such a drive in burst mining?

85,00 MB/s read rate

75,00 MB/s write rate

usb 3.0

5400 rpm

32 mb cache

sure ..
no prob!!!
it is sufficinet fast...
you need just to stay under the average block time to send deadline to the pool...
here you can check the average block time

Hi, I've got a little gpuPlotGenerator issue.

gpuPlotGenerator listPlatforms

produces the following: -

Author:   Cryo
Bitcoin:  138gMBhCrNkbaiTCmUhP9HLU9xwn5QKZgD
Burst:    BURST-YA29-QCEW-QXC3-BKXDL
----
Platforms number: 3
----
Id:       0
Name:     Intel(R) OpenCL
Vendor:   Intel(R) Corporation
Version:  OpenCL 1.2
----
Id:       1
Name:     AMD Accelerated Parallel Processing
Vendor:   Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
Version:  OpenCL 2.0 AMD-APP (2348.3)
----
Id:       2
Name:     AMD Accelerated Parallel Processing
Vendor:   Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
Version:  OpenCL 2.0 AMD-APP (2348.3)

But I have removed my RX580, rebooted and it still shows the above. The ONLY graphics in my system is the i7 CPU iGPU.

So where is this platform information being stored and how to correct this info?

It can take a while to download the blockchain.  Try using the online wallet in the meantime.  There are also online wallet options at burstnation.com.

You can find the blockchain as a download at last posts https://forums.burst-team.us/topic/45/burst-blockchain-ddl-updated-regular-every-24h-zipped/55
