is there already a CPU plotting comparison with dcct version? (a wiki would be perfect)

How do you tell the java miner to consider plots present on a different drive letter (windows)?
thanks

You just need to softlink the file in the plot folder

Not yet afaik

i7-2600 with 16gb ram

Creating plots for nonces 55296288 to 57344288 (500 GB) using 10240 MB memory and 8 threads

While I'm getting ready for Storj when beta is out, I decided to play with burst a bit.
I've read a lot of this thread and most things are pretty clear, but I have 2 questions remaining.
How do you tell the java miner to consider plots present on a different drive letter (windows)?  can someone point me to the syntax for this?
When I downloaded the plot.exe for windows to a sandbox using chrome, it complained of malware and suspended the download, why?
thanks

- You need to copy the java miner to the disk you want to generate plots, the miner always generate plots on plots folder of current path. Pretty easy fix to change this, but I don't think it's a priority.
- False positive is pretty standard today with miner stuffs, don't you think? Wink

Want to mine Burst with scrypt?

Introducing the first Burst multipool! Mine with Scrypt, get paid out in Burst!

We are considering adding x11 if there is enough interest.

Additionally we will be using a few of our spare servers to subsidize the burst payouts... stay tuned!

i did it.but why do this again.just curious

dcct miner is giving me "no deadline" on every block on a new machine, doesnt it work with partial plots?

Code:
2 MB read/10 GB total/no deadline
New block 10034, basetarget 6313873
2 MB read/10 GB total/no deadline
New block 10035, basetarget 6489876
2 MB read/10 GB total/no deadline
New block 10036, basetarget 6222721
2 MB read/10 GB total/no deadline
New block 10037, basetarget 6294211
5 MB read/20 GB total/no deadline
New block 10038, basetarget 6207240
5 MB read/20 GB total/no deadline
New block 10039, basetarget 6088535
5 MB read/20 GB total/no deadline
New block 10040, basetarget 5808816
5 MB read/20 GB total/no deadline
New block 10041, basetarget 5753047
5 MB read/20 GB total/no deadline
New block 10042, basetarget 5646638
7 MB read/30 GB total/no deadline
New block 10043, basetarget 5587253
7 MB read/30 GB total/no deadline

With just 30GB a deadline is unlikely. But your miner is running fine  Smiley

There is a possibility that you get no deadline? Didn't know that since java always gave me one, np then, thanks! Cheesy

Actually there would be one, but the miner does not submit it. It would be above 1M - with no chance of finding a block.

Look into the Source:

Code:
#define MAXDEADLINE     1000000

change this to a higher value and it will submit.

Quote
79 MB read/316 GB total/deadline 1741444918521s (1741444918384s left)

This deadline is way too high, your plot files may be broken.

is it possible to import the key from one wallet to another? So that I have two keys in one wallet afterwards?

also, @ dcct:

i'm currently using your miner on a raspberry pi and there are ~600GB plot files in the linked directory, but the output looks currently like:

Code:
78 MB read/312 GB total/no deadline
New block 10040, basetarget 5808816
35 MB read/140 GB total/no deadline
New block 10041, basetarget 5753047
80 MB read/321 GB total/no deadline
New block 10042, basetarget 5646638
79 MB read/316 GB total/deadline 1741444918521s (1741444918384s left)
New block 10043, basetarget 5587253
78 MB read/312 GB total/no deadline

why does it only show 321GB max? there are several files one is around 230GB, the rest is 50GB each. the java miner showed shares beeing submitted ever few minutes.

What sort of cpu operations are involved in plotting?  Integer?  Floating point?  How are the better AMD 6 and 8 core cpus doing in nonces per minute compared to the better intel i3 / i5 / i7's?

hey guys.is there still that program that calculate your plot size before starting them

number of nonces * 256 / 1.000.000 = size in Gb
PlotSize (GB) = NumberOfNonces / 4096
NumberOfNonces = PlotSize (GB) * 4096

your formula gives a rough estimation, the one posted by me it`s more... exact (file on disk size).

1**********************9_60000000_40960_40960 - 10Gb (your version) - 10.485Gb (mine)
1GB is 1024*1024 kB. Your formula is wrong. Just check any one plotfile.

are you sure ?

Of course I'm sure. 10485760kB = 10240MB = 10GB. It`s a basics, bro! Smiley

wtf are you talking about, bro ? you realize that filesize is not the same as size on disk and it makes a HUGE difference when you plan your plot file, right bro ?

let me give you a hint... 100G on paper equals to about 107Gb on disk, so i`ll strongly advise to calculate file size using the formula I`ve written above because it`s not theoretical.

99328 nonces in file /4096 = 24.25 GB
Filesize: 26 038 239 232 bytes /1024 /1024 /1024 = 24.25 GB
On disk: same size
Even whole folder sizes are the same.
What am I doing wrong?  Smiley

I have some equipment to throw at this as well, particularly the SHA, so I'm also interested in getting this working .

Looking for miners (ASIC ones especially!)

sha: stratum+tcp://pool.burstmultipool.com:5555

Keccak: stratum+tcp://pool.burstmultipool.com:6666
scrypt-n: stratum+tcp://pool.burstmultipool.com:2222

Well done! Everyone hop on the multi pool!!!

I hopped on, but for some reason my Antminers can't connect. I must be doing something wrong, but after reading the instructions a bunch of times, I'm certain i'm correct. I am reading back through to see if my question was already answered, thanks.

I am up and running, have almost a terahash there of SHA.

However, the stats page doesn't seem to work, and I have no way of telling if I am actually gaining anything or not. All I know is that I am connected, and sending 900 mh or so of SHA, which will soon increase.

So just a q I have had trouble finding an answer to.
Plot generation... got it. No overlapping nonces.

So let's say I have three HDDs and I am too lazy to make that one big disk.
I could generate plots on each disk (keeping nonces unique).

Do I then solo mine three clients (one for each disk).
So for example I have :

d:\pocminer_v1\plots
e:\pocminer_v1\plots
f:\pocminer_v1\plots

If I were to pool mine, would I also need to run three clients... one on each disk?
Thank you!

You must run 3 instance.. 1 for each hdd Smiley

Unless you create a symlink (google it) which will allow you to have several drives appear as one logical drive. In that case you can use one miner for solo or pool.
