Yes, that will be addressed in the next release

I've tested the simulation for 10 million minutes (~19 years)
(...)

Reviving this discussion just to ask if the proposed change will be part of the next release, and also, if the simulations took into account the nethash drops at each nfactor change. My only worry, is that by the time we hit the next nfactor change, the diff adjustment is again "overly slow".

It is not just the nethash drop due to the nfactor change that worries me, but also the tendency to have a reasonable number of miners also dropping (even if temporarily) at that time. My opinion, is that those miners that "stick" around through that period (as myself did in the recent nfactor bump), are being strongly penalized with the slow diff adjustments. Food for thought I suppose.

Happy mining,
~ Myagui

Nethash has gone up 4 folds in one week, but the price won't rise. Expect big news coming in. I'm mining CACH like mad since the beginning and won't sell a dime.

There are a couple of additions coming in (hopefully soon enough). But I'm currently busy with my research project, so not personally working on the stuff. But I do see the progress ;-)

exciting Smiley

Ive seen this cpu miner https://github.com/Hartland/GPL-CPU-Miner/
any one tried it yet? il prob power up a cpu and gives it a try this afternoon.

depends on your config  but if you can get 60KH/s from a signgle card , for 300KH/s it should give you max 40 coins a day with today's diff and reward

Hello everyone,

Can someone please give me an estimate of how many cachecoins a day I can mine running
5 asus radeon r9 280x directcu ii cards? I can't seem to find a calculator and/or estimates on

Hey all,

question:  To get POS going I have to keep the wallet open all the time and unlocked ?

How do you unlock the wallet if its encrypted ?

I am ussing a MAC wallet.

Cheers,

Please read the first post

Done, wallet have been opened and unlocked 1 hour after your reply.  I have 42 coins in there that have been sitting in my wallet since march 17th. Plus another 370 coins depositied on april 25th.

How long should I expect the 42 coins to start POS'ing ? since they already have a coin age of 40+ days ?

It depends on how long you keep it open. The longer, the more the chance

Block Explorer has however been down most of today. Does this relate to the stats migration you mentioned Jasinlee?

Kalgecin & Singula,
Thank you both for your kind assistance. Wallet has not locked up again after another full day running, so now I'm wondering if my earlier trouble was due to stake unlocking, combined with all my transactions around that time being about 1 CACH each (some 60 transactions around that time). Oh well, will bug you guys again if I run into trouble.

Cheers,

Maybe just blocks with lots of transactions (slow ones), when compared to "empty" blocks (only the coinbase tx and no other transactions)?

I suppose that is one possibility. I'll try to record cpu usage when this happens and what block number it is, so I can then check the explorer for how many transactions it carried and if it was PoS or PoW.
Thanks for the suggestion singula!

Update: After a full day running the wallet, no lockup occurred. I spotted that some blocks take unusually longer to get processed (didn't have a chance to spot if those slow ones were PoW or PoS), but the wallet has not acted up yet! So, will save this debug.log for future reference, clear the logs, reopen the wallet, and this time, have it running unlocked for staking. Will report back in a day or so.

[...] I'll execute the wallet as instructed, have it run at least for a day, then report back to the e-mail provided. [...]
