Or selling into his own clam into his own buy walls that he's been pushing the value up with for weeks so he can keep his CLAM and buy more by creating a panic sell.

Well, I can tell you he slammed into some of my walls.

In my humble opinion...I can almost guarantee CLAM is a great buy right now. Its 70% down lmao. It will almost certainly go up

Some guy is just selling relentlessly atm. Don't know if some whale just realised he had CLAMs or some holder got hacked, but it's mental.

Also bittrex is trading at 100k while polo is at 60k

but run the client with "connect=0" in clam.conf

Thanks, gonna give that a try tomorrow.

If it isn't the disk and CPU should be pretty idle. If it is, either the disk or at least one CPU core should be maxed out.

Yes, one of my CPU cores was maxed out.

Now, if I am importing the transaction from the bootstrap.dat file why is there so much network traffic?

I'm not sure if it's meant to shut off network data which syncing from a bootstrap or not, but run the client with "connect=0" in clam.conf to force it not to make any peer connections.

Then you'll see whether it's using the bootstrap.dat file or not. If it isn't the disk and CPU should be pretty idle. If it is, either the disk or at least one CPU core should be maxed out.

Are the average staking rates on presstab's website accurate or can you share with me what the current rates are roughly please?

I've looked at presstab's stats.

Just-Dice has around 880k staking, and stakes about 1280 per day.

880e3/1280 = 687.5

So I'd guess you need around 700 CLAMs to stake once per day.

I've been out of the loop for quite awhile,
I want to re-sync my wallet but I heard clams has over 1GB+ blockchain data  Lips sealed
so I'm searching for any lightweight or web based wallet...
If I'm not mistaken, I saw clams icon on coinomi list of supported altcoins
anyone using coinomi wallet here? what's your opinion about it, thanks.

I don't know anything about coinomi, but you can use Just-Dice.com as a "web wallet". There are no fees if you use it as a wallet other than a flat 0.001 CLAM fee per withdrawal.

Most people put their balance into the Just-Dice bankroll, and then you earn staking rewards, and also are exposed to profits (and losses) made from people playing dice on the site. But that's entirely optional.

All paid signature campaigns should be banned.
If you want to get up to date you really need to use the bootstrap files.  I tried it without them, gave up after a few days, used the bootstrap files, got caught up eventually.

Heard about Clams for the first time a couple of days ago. Decided to try to claim my Clams from old BTC wallets.
Not trusting the organisation I decided to use my linux computer instead of my Mac.

After a couple of hours I still was 2 years and 25 years behind according to the clam-qt client software.
Stopped it and decided to continue today using the bootstrap.dat file. After an hour and a half, I had to reboot once because clam-qt crashed my computer - a quad core with 8 GB of RAM, I am still 2 years and 6 weeks behind importing blocks. The only way to  see progress is to start and stop clam-qt because the progress bar doesn't move anymore.

Now, if I am importing the transaction from the bootstrap.dat file why is there so much network traffic? According to clam-qt there is 1 kB in and 35 kB out in the past half hour. According to my system monitor clam-qt is sending out between 60 and 320 kB/sec! What is going on?  Even if the bootstrap.dat file isn't working I should be downloading data not sending it out. During the time that I had clam-qt running the program send out hundreds of MB. Is clam-qt mining coins on my computer and sending them to the organization behind Clams?

UPDATE: Removed the bootstrap.dat and restarted clam-qt. Lot more incoming and outgoing network traffic, but very irregular. In the past 15 minutes clam-qt froze 3 times and I was not able to type anything into a texteditor or using my mouse. Still sending a lot more data out than pulling in.

dooglus,

I used to own and stake clams and was looking to get back in.

Same here and curious about the same question

I don't know how to read the presstab site but the current weight accoring to my Clam client is around 900,000. That means you would need 625 CLAM (=900,000 / 1440) to succesfully stake once a day (on avarage).

I don't see any number on Presstab that nears 900,000 but that's maybe because they don't take into account the number of Clams that are actually being staked. Lots of Clam is just laying on a (virtual) shelf and doing nothing. maybe someone can explain this better?

From 0.00210 to 0.00250 in one day is more than a little pump. Back to 0.00230 now. Since I am done selling and want to buy back the price may fall back down again. The buyers chart on Poloniex makes a fall below 0.00220 quite unlikely though. We'll see what happens. So far the pumpers are doing an excellent job.
