Anyone having any issues with getting transactions through? I sent one earlier today took about ~10-15 mins for first transaction. Now I've been sitting at 40 minutes still not one confirmation and the transaction ID doesn't show up in the block explorer?

You can do an easy test at freebitcoins.com and get a small payment from the faucet. If that shows up in your wallet, the network is working fine.

Thanks I'll try. Original transaction still hasn't got a single confirmation..

Hi,

I've installed the client recently (v1.4.17) and synching is extremely slow, although I can see 16 connections to the network. At this rate, synch will take several months.
Is there a way to speed up things a bit?

Stake and dig (one address at a time) at Just-dice.com

Dig (all addresses with one click dropping the .dat) at https://freebitcoins.com/clamchecker/dig_wallet/ (you get 3.5 CLAMS worth of BTC @ market price)

Or you could read thread for Doogs bootstrap! (but the syncing will be slow still and the altcoin markets can move drastically)

Need to learn more in this coin, I think is very interesting, although the topic is simple and not as good as other projects.

Does anyone have any solutions for this?

I wonder whether your client perhaps successfully staked before it was fully synced, causing a local fork? You might try loading a fresh blockchain from dooglus' snapshot.

HTH

First Exclusion Ever
Hello,

I have an issue here I am hoping some one can help me with. Earlier after a PC restart the balance was off in my Clam client, so I repaired the wallet in the console. The balance issue was fixed, but now the client perpetually says it is out of sync, yet there is no progress bar. The icon on the bottom left is blue indicating that I am staking after unlock, but I am not mining any Clams, and the previously mined Clams are not maturing and the block count is behind. I have connections. I have tried rescanning, but nothing changed. Does anyone have any solutions for this?

Im the very decease you pretend to be
Im still not sure about all this staking thing.
Does not look like match to profit, and the process is very long and strange.
And you have to have a lot of coins to get some awards. Which does not make sense. Crypto ecosystem is very much dynamic now. Why would i want to lock down my assets into single wallet and sit on it?
And it takes 2 weeks to sync this whole deal.
Better to spread out assets and make some money of it.

It's awfully quiet here even though Clam is doing really well.
If you compare the sell vs buy orders at poloniex you might conclude the price will go up sooner than down. It might even be prudent to buy at the current price.

I am not a professional trader and this is not investment advice but just my opinion.

I finally sync'd, and now I uploaded some of my old wallets

I imported 1, then tried a second.  It did nothing.  I closed and restarted Clam Client, and then imported a 3 wallet.

When I try to import that 2nd wallet (LTC) it says
"wallet import failed"

what could that mean?

i feel pros here wont teach us the basics of getting clam so as to force us to 3rd party IMO
and yeah how can i buy clam using mastercard
You know how I figured out how to get my clams?  I read the thread.  I know that is probably a new concept for you.  Try reading the first 10 pages and then maybe the the last 20 or so.  You will learn a lot.
yeah true but i meant for staking like how many clams and coin control how they function...my estimated time to stake keeps on fluctuating pisses me off
Not once in your post did you mention staking.  You mentioned "getting clam", you mention "3rd party" you mention "mastercard"

Your estimated time will fluctuate based on how many people are staking and how many coins are being staked.  This varies over time.  This really should not piss you off.  Again, I learned a lot about staking by reading the thread.  You can easily buy clams at the various exchanges (poloniex, bittrex, etc.)
thanks  alot guess this helps

I usually calculate like this: If you take the network weight and devide that by 1440 you get the numer of coins required to stake once a day, on avarage. So if the nework weight is 1.000.000 you need 1.000.000/1440 = 694.44 =>  695 clam to stake once a day. Off course this a chance calculation so it could happen you stake several times on a day and nothing a few days in a row.
The network weight is dependend on the total amount of clam used for staking, so that can fluctuate on a daily basis.

Amen Burt!

Is it still possible to claim Clams if I had bitcoins some time ago? Where some snapshots of blockchain taken and if yes, when?

Like said above... If you held a balance of Bitcoin, Litecoin or Dogecoin on May 12, 2014 then you will already have CLAM.  These coins do not expire and are much like a paper wallet till claimed.

Exact snapshot times:

BTC block 300377 (2014-05-12 12:48:17)
LTC block 565693 (2014-05-12 13:06:31)
DOGE block 218556 (2014-05-12 13:09:17)

Check to see if the address qualifies:  https://freebitcoins.com/clamchecker/dig/

RIP Mommy
If you held a balance on May 12th 2014 in a BTC, LTC, or DOGE address then you most likely already have CLAMcoin waiting to be dug up.
