from my recent past:
download the latest version of the wallet,
download the bootstrap file and throw it in the folder of the wallet,
download the latest node which is on the forum and throw them in a folder wallet.
To launch the wallet and loading a purse will happen quickly.
Or do nothing from what is written, then sync will be a very long time
Sound advice.
One more gem ... returning to CLAMs? Syncing seems to stall? Try the above
with an empty wallet.
I've recently synced from 0 in just over a couple of hours, twice now, using exactly the steps described above. In between, I had several failures to complete, my client usually stalling with 33/34 weeks left.
I beat this level by moving my bulging wallet.dat to one side and syncing first with an empty wallet, before switching it back out for the non-empty wallet. As with many PoS coins, when syncing from 0 the client seems to have a bad habit of attempting to stake before it is fully synced. It's something of a latent issue that only afflicts the affluent.
If the staking attempt is successful it creates a local fork, which is where (and why) the client stalls. I
believe that the phenomenon is directly related to stake weight, sometimes it can be just too much for the client to resist.
Cheers
