Poloniex states there is some issues with CLAM atm.

"CLAM is currently under maintenance or experiencing wallet/network issues. Deposits and withdrawals will remain disabled until a solution is found, which may require an update from the CLAM team. Any updates must be tested and audited before enabling."

Is this only for their exchange or is it affecting all wallets?

Only for their exchange.

Hmm... is there any other exchange that trades with CLAM / BTC pairs? Polo has been acting shady AF the last month or so! I wouldn't be surprised if they claim a "hack" and disappear like Mt. Gox! My only loss would be 126 clams in such a scenario. Hope it does not happen but in the crypto world, you can never be too sure! Sad

Thanks for you answer, i'm not sure to understand.
I have import my wallet.dat from my bitcoincore (with btc on it at the snapshot time), but nothing in my clam wallet appear except the adress in receive.

So you tell me to type in the console /dig address privatekey ?

He's saying that rather than using wallet software you can check whether individual addresses have CLAMs by going to just-dice.com's "chat" tab and typing /dig 1youraddresshere in the chat. It will tell you whether there are CLAMs associated with the address, and whether they have been claimed yet or not.

Thx to

was funded with 4.60545574 CLAM when the initial distribution was made; the CLAMs have not been spent and are waiting for you to collect them; use /dig ADDRESS PRIVKEY to have them dug up and sent to your deposit address for this account; the private key you provide will not be logged, and will be discarded immediately after use; having said that it is best to move any BTC/LTC/DOGE at that address to a new address first just to be on the safe side

No.

Easiest place to check to see if your addresses qualify is https://freebitcoins.com/clamchecker/dig/

Sounds like you don't have any CLAMS.  Sorry!

Thx for your answer, but like i said before, i have clam on my adresses, i try on makejar, and on your website : We can dig this address! Fill in your private key and payment info, and we'll send your coins to you.

So i think i have an other problem

I have my Clam client on my everyday desktop and I want to move it to a dedicated (virtual) machine. Is there a way (app?) to monitor my account/clams from my desktop machine when the client runs on a different machine?

Is there a way for me to recreate the wallet.dat files in order to import them into Clam-Qt so that I can claim my allocated clams? Any advice/guidance/clues would be appreciated.

Yes. Run bitcoin core, go to the debug console, and type

  importprivkey "" false

for each privkey you have. Then quit bitcoin core and the wallet.dat will be ready to import into the CLAM client.

Alternatively, use just-dice.com's chat tab. You can "/dig " to check an address for CLAMs, and "/dig " to dig the CLAMs up, free of charge. The CLAMs will be credited to your Just-Dice account, from where you can withdraw them to an exchange of your choice, or to your local wallet.

Need some help... Google failed me (or perhaps I failed Google)...

I don't have any old wallet.dat files any longer. But I do have several clam-worthy Bitcoin addresses as well as their private keys. Is there a way for me to recreate the wallet.dat files in order to import them into Clam-Qt so that I can claim my allocated clams? Any advice/guidance/clues would be appreciated.

[Later append... I think I'm on the right track... Will post this in case it ever helps someone else:] So I downloaded a pre-HD version of "Multibit Classic"; then exported its private key to a "multibit.key" file; then text-edited that file with my actual clam-filled private key. I found this instruction on the clamclient.com site: "Place the '.key' file in the same folder as clam-qt.exe. Go to 'console' in clam-qt, type 'importwalletdump yourfilename.key'." (We'll see if this works for me. First, I'm waiting for the Clam-Qt client to finish importing the bootstrap.dat file, which could take awhile.)

@Randzzz:
I hope this works for you, but in case it doesn't: I entered my private key at freebitcoins.com (after I emptied that wallet) and got bitcoins in return for about the same value in a different wallet. Later I used those bitcoin to buy 5.5 CLAM  Grin when the exchange rates were more profitable.

@dooglus: I understand that my stake is relatively small and the possibility exists I never get a stake reward. That's why I need to be very patient. It's just that one stake would prove that my setup is correct and the system works. That's all. I'll just wait very (im)patiently.

So far I have staked 36 clam and can expect a reward in about 19 days

Note that every 16 seconds your wallet tries to stake, and has a random chance of being successful. You could manage to stake a block immediately, or it could take months. On average with 36 CLAMs staking you will stake a block about every 20 days I guess, but it's random. You could go 2 months without staking at all, then stake twice in one day.

Just don't be surprised if the reward doesn't come "in about 19 days". It could be much longer or much shorter than that.

Can anyone tell me if CLAM is actually accepted as a payment currency in any shop or site other than gambling?

I'm not sure. There were a couple of people accepting CLAMs.

I remember this one: https://cryptomercado.com/ -- he seems to still be accepting CLAMs for coffee and stuff.

I am quite new to the cryptocurrency world and have adopted CLAM as my favorite. So far I have staked 36 clam and can expect a reward in about 19 days. That is: If I have set up everything correctly. So far nothing happened and it would be so nice if 1 clam arrived in my client just to prove that everything works as intended.  Grin. Since I'm only 14 days in the/this loop I should be (a lot) more patient though.

So far thanks for all the tips and explanations I found in this thread.

Can anyone tell me if CLAM is actually accepted as a payment currency in any shop or site other than gambling?
