Anyone know of a block explorer with an api?

I was using khashier.com, but it's been down for a long time.

How long should it take to sync a new node? I've been running for several days and it's now slowed down to only obtaining about 2 weeks of blockchain data per day. I'm 2 years and 14 weeks behind. I have 16 active connections to the clams network.

It takes a very long time. Weeks or months, apparently due to some long-unfixed bugs in the code.

If you don't want to wait you can download a copy of the blockchain.

I've synced twice. It does work, but requires patience.

I've got the bootstrap section which I needed, and I'm tailing the debug log, looks like it'll still take 27 hours. Does that seem right? I know bitcoin takes ages; but this blockchain isn't even 1% of the size of bitcoins...

See bold above.

Yes, it is much, much slower than Bitcoin.

   Look 5 post back...

Yes, tried that first thing. Didn't help.

Thanks, finally found a working download link for the bootstrap.

It would be great if you could work out that deal and get one of them back up.

I did notice that khashier.com now directs to clamsight.com, so maybe something is in the works to get clamsight.com back up?

In the mean time, is the explorer at presstab.pw the only clam block explorer available now?

What happened to the clam block explorers at clamsight.com and khashier.com?

Xploited and the CLAM developers don't want to spend $40 a month to keep it running.

I've offered to pay the monthy cost in exchange for my Google Adsense ads placed on the site.

I find that exiting and starting the wallet about every 1/2 hr speeds up the process considerably.

Cheers Jon  Cool

Often had problems syncing wallet after long periods of coins elsewhere.

keeping an eye on the logfile shows (in my case anyway) problems with orphans ... many orphans.

I now look out for something like

ProcessBlock: ORPHAN BLOCK 751, prev=6169a00daf82fcc979f3353ffb6eebb549940d303f0335b24d00abda7df0f990
ERROR: ProcessBlock() : duplicate proof-of-stake (COutPoint(d5814acfb9, 1), 1501411456) for orphan block

It's the 751 that rings alarm bells
In my case orphans will increment up to this number and then the wallet seems to get stuck.
751 repeats ad nauseam and sync progress stalls.
A quick restart - the blockage clears and sync progresses ....

rinse ... repeat as required

I don't truly understand what mechanism is at play here but restarts at this point always appear beneficial.

Hope this is useful

I'm on drugs, what's your excuse?

bootstrap I dl-ed is about 1.98Gb is it ok ?
wherever I put it DL blockchain continues from two years ago.

The last one I uploaded was 1,836,581,341 bytes.

It takes a while to import. But you should see "importing" in the bottom left corner of your client instead of "syncing" if it's using the bootstrap file I think.

Please one more question, where to place it. I always get sync...

Put it in the same folder as your wallet.dat file.

Thanks I’ll try the CLAM client first then.

Note that you only need to sync up the first 10k blocks to see your free CLAMs appear. If they don't appear then, something's wrong.

Note that the CLAM market moves up and down very fast... the CLAM wallet syncs extremely slow.

You maybe better off digging through a third party rather than waiting and seeing where the market takes you.  (The market could go up though too of course)

Like the one dude several post ago that dug through my service and bought back 5.5 CLAMS a day or so later.  The wallet syncing could take over a week.

Good point, I’ll start keeping an eye on the market, I’m only 6 days behind now, can always change plan…
