Staking on CLAM isn't percentage based.
Instead, the block reward is a flat 1 CLAM per block.
This block reward is competed for via staking, where the amount of CLAM staking is roughly equivalent to a 'unit' of hash.

On my research for new coins to support I came to CLAM.

Can you please provide the checksum of Mac client wallet file v1.4.7 since the connection to http://clamclient.com/start/download is not secure?

Trying to understand the import to claim CLAMs. Are there any known security risks by importing the Bitcoin wallet dat into the CLAM client?

No, there is NOT a new upcoming CLAMs distribution. The distribution is another project unrelated to CLAMs. I just mentioned it because CLAMs was distributed in a "snapshot" manner, and so some CLAMmers remain interested in this distribution style. I'm not going to comment any more on this since it is not really a CLAMs topic. I would delete my previous post if there were not already replies, so moderator, please feel free to do so.

We already have a significant number of people not yet claiming their coins from old addresses.

I'm not sure what he was asking. Maybe he's asking whether it's still possible to claim the original free CLAMs. If so, yes, it is.
