I had clam-qt 1.4.16 running on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and started it yesterday, it was 17 weeks behind syncing. So syncing starts but hangs at week 17. Restart clam-qt syncing 1 week more and stops again. So I update to 1.4.17, same problem, after half or 1 week blocks it just stops syncing, clam-qt isn't hanging or sleeping, it's running. Any suggestions how to solve this?

A group calling itself Goi Media has registered clamclient.org. From Googling the registration phone number, it appears that they are just domain squatters with no connection to CLAMs the cryptocurrency.
