Long week prevented me from getting back to this sooner, but I appreciate you uploading a new file.  However; it didn't work.  The same thing happened, so I want to assume that it's not the file but something on my end.  The only thing I can think of right now is to try to synchronize on a different machine, cause I am out of ideas so any advice would be appreciated.

I put the file in, I open clam wallet, it says importing blocks, and after a short while it switches to synchronizing with network and the bootstrap file has been renamed to .old, however I was still 2 years and 40+ weeks behind.  While I have advanced a couple of weeks, it certainly isn't worth it without getting the bootstrap to work properly.

Problem is, my bootstrap ends and renames to .old

That should only happen when the file has been fully imported.

Is the bootstrap.dat file linked in this thread corrupt?  any help would be appreciated.

I'm guessing that you don't have the full file. There's an sha256 checksum in the post so you can verify it.

I just updated the post with a new version of the file. It's now 3,697,805,005 bytes.

Hi all, not my first post but my original account seems to have been stolen :p

So I have been trying to sync my clam wallet but having little luck.  After the bootstrap process I am still 3 years and 43 weeks behind and it looks like I have only processed up to block 1,885,047.

A couple of previous posters had the same problem and their solution was to just keep restarting the clam client until it finally catches up.  Problem is, my bootstrap ends and renames to .old, while they don't exactly specify if they went in and renamed it back to .dat and continued importing blocks.  Is the advice now to just restart the claimclient when it stops downloading and just p2p it til it's up to date? (assuming their bootstrap renamed to .old and they just synched the rest with network).  Would it make more sense for me to find the proper #.dat files that i am missing and just append them to create a new bootstrap that starts where the last one ended?

According to the post, the bootstrap.dat file linked goes up to block 3,089,200 while mine stopped at 1,885,047.

I closed clam client, renamed the bootstrap.dat.old back to bootstrap.dat and launched it again.  It started importing blocks, but after a short time it switched back to synchronizing with network, renamed to .old again and is now at block 1,889,433.

I want to assume that the 4,000 +/- additional blocks I got were downloaded and not from the bootstrap.dat file that is supposed to run all the way up to block 3,089,200.  Is the bootstrap.dat file linked in this thread corrupt?  any help would be appreciated.

CLAM wallet update:  https://github.com/nochowderforyou/clams/commit/558130ae4e04cf0870e24aa65a05a32c7c1f2a8a

This update fixes the problem the wallet was having handling dust transaction and would require wallet maintenance.

Fast syncing now (no bootstrap required)!

I don't think that version is tested much at all. I wouldn't recommend anyone use it other than for testing. I tried it recently and found a bug in it almost straight away. The fix is on the 2.1.0 branch in the CLAM git repository.

Ya, you're right.

Sorry about that Doog and thank you.

but why after all this time, clam not have a little exchange like crex24, stex or similar? price for listing are really low, all clam community can pay a little bit and enter in a normal exchange

Don't forget that there's also BTCPOP.co that has CLAM listed. They even stake!
But yeah the biggest difficulty right now is getting an exchange that can get listed on the damn CLAM page on CMC.
If we already had freebitcoins and btcpop that would already give the coin back some legitimacy.
I remember the good times when it was listed on Bittrex and Poloniex Cry.
I guess we could try with crex24 and stex.

kucoin https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/kucoin/ also might be a good place to get CLAM listed. I recently saw they are focusing on proof of stake coins and added a staking feature to their exchange (but not sure if orders stake like they do on BTCPOP).

Xploited and I have made trading on XChange free until at least 11-08-2020.

Free CLAM trading ftw!

So, people can get 0.02 CLAM for free from our Faucet and then they can trade that for free using XChange.

In other news:  Almost .5 BTC volume on the CLAM markets today and CLAM price up over 100%.

Have you gotten anywhere with CMC or coingecko or other market listing providers?

Yes, I've contacted both a number of times.

I think it would probably be best for community members to request them to reference the proper clam pricing as well... right now I think both of those sites just reference YoBit, even though they know YoBit is a scam Roll Eyes.

CMC has the page as "untracked":  https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/freebitcoins-com/

CMC and Coingecko are communist owned websites. Frankly, I don't really care if they list us or not.

For me it froze A LOT, when trying to synch. I was able to get it going again each time by just restarting the wallet. Im not sure if that was on my side or the client, but synching was a nightmare.

For me is that same. Frozen and restart, frozen and restart, and again, and again...

Very cool, well done. Gotta start somewhere. Still hoping for some more of the exchange listings out there but time will tell. Have you gotten anywhere with CMC or coingecko or other market listing providers?

What happened to this coin?
I remember it price was very high  on Poloniex years ago, and it was possible to lend it.

It got delisted of poloniex... but before that, there was a flash crash that cost to the users $13M... It was one of those non-cheap lessons.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/poloniex-will-reimburse-135-million-loss-from-clams-flash-crash

But don't worry it's really easy to buy and sell on freebitcoins.com, on this nice exchange you only need a mail to create the account, so forget about KYC and get some easy clams now Wink

wishwd Binance bought just-dice then made it their official dice game .

clam then would go to $43

Probably one of the most unlikely but best outcomes, lol. Not sure what it would take to get clams listed on Binance, but I imagine more than is physically possible presently.
