-CrownAtomic-

Proposed ETA
01/09/2017

HomePage

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On Aug 01, 2017 the Crown team plan to have features described bellow in testnet.

Sep 01, 2017 the Crown Project plans to release an update of the core network software which will turn on two new op_codes for applications to use in connecting with the network and encrypted messaging.
With this release, the project takes another step toward becoming a distributed organization.

With the base finally set, the core team will introduce three proposals for the community to review and vote on:

1. Application Layer Development

Using the affordances given by the new op_key and op_meta opcodes, we propose building a system in which Trons are able to acquire an API key by agreeing to a comply by the relevant laws where the tron is operated and also having the required collateral.  This API key will allow the Tron to then register services with the Tron’s Wallet address.  Subscribers to a service would pay subscription fees for a service, and would receive a service token through the encrypted messaging capability on the platform.  The user would then be able to use that token to log in to the service which they had subscribed to.  Subscribers would access applications through a browser and URL.

2. Chronos: Timekeeping and Proof of Stake

In order to increase the capacity of the network, better time granularity is required.  We also believe that since traditional networks have different sorts of nodes and servers, it is important for cryptographic networks to evolve beyond a single server type.   For both of these reason we propose a service node which provides timekeeping services to the Crown Network, and we are calling this Chronos.  To incent the creation of these timekeeping service nodes, we will also introduce a staking algorithm, so that Chronos node operators will be able to stake between 100 to 500 CRW on each Chronos node.  The goal is for the Chronos nodes to, like the Trons with their potential to enable an application economy, to also have their own self-sustaining business model which allows for income beyond the period of the block reward.  Because the Chronos nodes will allow acceleration of the network, a portion of this should be able to come from the transaction fee – but we have also already been approached by other services who would be interested in subscribing to a timekeeping service – which makes sense – so the timekeeping service itself is expected to also be another application which can be subscribed to through the network.  This would be an example of a “utility application” which all Trons would offer, and where most (90%+) of the revenues for the service would probably be passed directly to a pool to pay the Chronos nodes.

3. Consensus Mechanism:

Chaositec doesn’t want to talk about this yet, but...  The combination of the consensus mechanism and the greater time granularity will allow the Crown Network to accelerate processing times and capacity once these updates are in place.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We are in the process of developing formal white papers to discuss the details behind each of these development proposals.  As stated before – none of these features on its own is new.  That’s what’s nice about the ideas.  What’s new is the combination and exactly how we will bring the different pieces together.  The simplicity of what we envision is both its strength and weakness.  Complexity is not secure – but simplicity in open source can be easily copied.
At this point we are far enough along that we do not believe there is any risk to starting to discuss the plan more openly.  If someone else can build it faster from this point – it is our fault for dawdling.

We are calling this set of three different proposals Crown Atomic, because (a) if it works it will blow away the capabilities of other crypto projects by adding both an extensible compute layer and transaction capacity closer to the level of the Paypal network in the next update of the Crown Core scheduled for November 2017, (b) in a perfect world we would have perfect time granularity and transactions would be coming through one by one, an atomic transaction stream instead of blocks – but we know the world isn’t perfect.

As stated before, the goal of the project are to do nothing less than providing a distributed and resilient foundation for business and modern life which is built around individuals and with the goal of maximizing their ability to act or human agency.  Between the sincere technology vision and the constructive social goal – we think this is a project a lot of people might be interested in working with or being a part of.  If you want to help out – feel free to join the Mattermost (mm.crwonlab.eu) and let us know how you want to get involved.

Hey Guys,

I got myself interested in Masternodes and especially in Throne's Smiley Therefore i bought 20 k Crown's and rented 2 VPS with the will to setup two Throne's.
Sadly after trying it for a couple of hours i can't get it running. I was using the youtube video first ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQMaElvCBdA ) but got stuck with a command which was not recognized. After that, i reset my VPS and was using this guide ( https://docs.google.com/document/d/1fNLdjl6dsPKzMfClZN5NL96-Ekbre9zZJ7s9A1rVIh4/edit ) for Ubuntu 16.04 ( which is the os of my VPS ).
I executed the script with the "throne genkey" on the VPS but it looks like the Wallet isn't synchronizing because the amount of blocks stays at zero.

Also in the first steps with executing the command "throne outputs" i don't recieve any String, only two brackets { }

It would be awesome if you got me a hint or two in the right direction.
Looking forward and thanks in advance Smiley

First off, you must send exactly 10,000 CRW to an empty public address(within your wallet on your PC). Once you do this, it SHOULD produce an output in the console using

throne outputs

If you want, i can take alook at your VPS for you... Or we can go through this on mattermost

We will be offering staking very soon so this could be of use to quite a few of our users.

So will you be switching to a POW/POS with the same block rewards or is it going to faze out POW and switch to POS only?

I'm sure you're sick of this by now, but we are proposing a mysterious third way of operating.

Initially, we will have a merge mined sha256 pow/pos hybrid in order to liven up the chronos layer but our plan is to move to a completely new consensus algorithm that removes the need for PoW altogether.

We're really close to being able to be less cloak and dagger about our mysterious consensus algorithm.  We're just determined to be first to market.  When we're in testnet, that'll be when we spill the beans and open ourselves up to public academic rigour.

In reference to your question about whether block rewards will remain the same, the answer is no.  In the future, when we no longer have PoW, we will have 90% of the block reward to share between Trons and Chronos, with the other 10% being the governance fund. No decisions have been made at this time as to the split.  At the appropriate time, a proposal (or proposals) will be created for the community to vote on.

Hi Crownians Smiley
The team over at MonetaryUnit have built www.WebWallets.io
Crown is 1 of 5 coins that we are launching with dozens more to follow.

So, if you would like a secure web wallet that pays your stake too, feel free to check us out Cheesy

Looks cool!

The web site isn't very informative though, can you explain the service a bit more please?
Yeah, I need to add some text, but I was just too darn impatient Cheesy

Its a web wallet.
Currently for MUE, CRW, RENS, PIVX & DASH.

For those coins that are also staking coins, stake rewards are paid to those holders of staking coins.
It's thoroughly tried & tested.

The real beauty will be revealed when we launch www.Coinbuy.IO - which is the alts equivalent to LocalBitcoins.
Your WebWallets.IO balance can then be linked to your CoinBuy.IO account making it very easy to buy and sell without having to wait while you move coins across wallets Cheesy

Sounds really exciting!  Flattered to be amongst the first wave of coins you are supporting.

Have you updated to the latest version?  If not, you will not get paid.

I did.  Looks like something went wrong and thrones got restarted by a watchdog script.  Got payment today, so it's fine now.

My thrones aren't paid for 2 days, though I've used to get several payments per day.

Could they be on a wrong fork, or what?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this or not, as I am new to the community (though I have been running 2 trons for a little over a month now); but the "install.sh" script is wrong. It still points to the older version of CLI. I manually updated the script to redo my TRONs, but someone new might not know that. So not sure how I can go about getting that updated.

Also, does anyone have a tutorial on how to remove the coins from the wallet without touching the initial 10,000? I know this coin is an offshoot of DASH, so I tried to follow the instructions there (I use to run a master node for them as well), but the "inputs" button is not within the GUI Crown Wallet.

I have some experience doing documentation through past experiences. So I plan on putting together a a new setup, update and withdrawal guide. I just want to make sure I have all of the steps before I create them. I would also like to create a guide to assist with updating ones wallet and such. I think the easier we can make this for people, the great the adoption of the coin.

the wallet your running with the coins, if you keep your throne.conf on that same computer, in the correct directory, will make sure the 10k for the running nodes are locked. so you can move the coins, but not the designated ones for the trons..

else, you can go into settings and activate coin control

Yes, I have some, but none through a node set up by spending DASH.  Tongue
