So, the social media has been talking a lot about KCS and COSS during the past few months. However, discussions on BCO (and CEFS, the "dividend" coin for Cryptopia) are almost nonexisting. What are your thoughts on this? Is Cryptobridge just too young project or somehow amateurish? Is the project just moving under the radar, or is it one of those extremely high risk startups that are more likely to fail before the end of the year?

I have a big position on COSS because I believe it to remain a relatively conservative and safe long term (=multiple years) hold for a guy like me, who wants to build a diverse portfolio but does not want to spend all the time waiting for the right moment to buy each coin separately. I am expecting that the COSS coins will keep their initial value, and in a few years at least one of those tens, hundreds or thousands of different coins received as dividend will become a major one, reaching x100 or even x1000, and providing me 100 % ROI for my initial COSS investment. I believe this idea to be even quite probable, since sooner or later a new, cheap crypto will be introduced which will become one of the major ones. Any problems with my thought process? Sure, if the trade fees or customers of the exchange go to zero, there won't be much dividends to pay.

Do you believe that decentralized exchanges are the future, and free exchanges (Robinhood or whatever) will become a standard, causing all these dividend token/coins to crash? I do not feel very comfortable at the moment because new exchanges are being introduced daily. I have only bought a few BCOs so far, mainly because I have no deep understanding on whether people are moving towards decentralized exchanges or not. I have heard some rumours that the requlation will destroy these kind of exchanges, or there will never be FIAT on these platforms etc. I have absolutely no idea whether this is the case.

All comments, thoughts and tips are welcome. No need for shilling.

> 2FA by phone and confirmation emails both increase account risk. Hackers, email providers, ISPs, and not-nice-governments like North Korea are constantly trying to get into peoples phones and emails.

Exactly. This can't be emphasized enough.

The entire CB/Bts platform is about freedom. Please, PLEASE leave everything as is and halt any 2FA dev. There are other places to trade, if you desire 2FA.

Well, 2FA doesn't have to be done that way. Certainly, 2FA via SMS is not secure at all, nor is 2FA via email. However, 2FA could be done in a similar manner to Google Authenticator, and the independent gateways could do it when they come online (slated for around May this year IIRC).

Admins /Developers: Please refrain from adding 2FA, of any kind. Keep OUT all phone companies, corp oligarchs, and g o v s.  Posters on this topic are more than welcome to trade at the dozens of exchanges that strictly enforce this unnecessary hurdle.

BTS Cryptro Bridge platform represents an important alternative.  Independent gateways should remain independent and not give in to pressure from "someone somewhere" and NOT require any such private info for transactions to occure. The entire system runs fine as is. Dev / admins please, if possible,  provide a subtle response, clue, hint, show of support that this won't happen, and that you are for "de-centralization" related to current system in place. The awakening Chinese, young Russian and Central Europeans seem to understand this more than the apathetic West.

I agree, any sort of centralised 2FA wouldn't be worth it. But surely 2FA via federated network of gateways, requiring multi-sig approval, would be a good thing to do?

i dont understand exactly how bridge works. its hosted on the bts blockchain, so all actions costs bts ? how are they paid? via smart contracts?

and can anybody pls explain this:

Quote
In Cryptobridge, a federated distributed network of gateways, operating worldwide...
makes sure there is no single point of failure whatsoever

what are the gateways doing? they are decentralized?

thanks!

the gateways give you the corresponding BRIDGE backed asset. Currently the gateway is not decentralised, the devs run it. The roadmap states that they are planning to roll out a system of federated gateways, with multi-sig approval required for withdrawal and deposits. Once this federated gateway network is up and running (some time in the next few months, hopefully), then they will be decentralised.

BTC withdrawal fee is 0.002  Shocked Are you serious guys?
Are you finding the withdrawal rate expensive? Other centralized exchanges are no different! Even Poloniex has raised its rate. Grin

So is it my mistake? Actually it is first time when I had to ask from support. Usually I make every day about 10-30 trades in coinexchange and never seen anything like that in there, always got exact amount or paid exact amount what is shown before.

I just thought that I have to pay 0.309757599923 BTC (+0.20%) for 3097575.99923 XP, not 0.32297969 BTC. And I thought that I will get 0.218708447634 BTC (-0.20%) for 2187084.47634 XP, not 0.21232187 BTC.

But if it is as it has to be then let it be. I thought that maybe it is some mistake.

it just doesn't make sense that you buy and sell coin for the same price on the same day. That's like buying a stock and paying the associated fees plus broker fee then turn around and sell the stock few minutes later for the same price you bought it and pay associated fees for selling plus broker fee that facilitated the sale. it makes absolutely no sense.

Anyone else buyed something from CryptoBridge and had to pay more or sold something on CryptoBridge and got less money?

About 20h ago I made two orders there, one of them was a buy order and another one was a sell order.

I buyed 3097575.99923 XP for 0.00000010 BTC, but it cost 0.32297969 BTC for me

I sold 2187084.47634 XP for 0.00000010 BTC and got only 0.21232187 BTC for it

So 0.019608667711 BTC walked away to somewhere. As I can understand that fee is 0.20% but this is not 0.20%. And as I saw from trade history that I'm not the only one.

So I contacted to CryptoBridge support and they said:

CryptoBridge is a decentralized exchange, we're not in control of the markets or funds. All trandes happen on the BitShares blockchain, CB is operating on top of it.

You also pay order fees to create a transaction on the blockchain. If you think you're missing money you should talk to the Bitshares community to get an explanation, pretty sure it's a misunderstanding.

Well not looking good for me that I buy from CryptoBridge and then I have to ask explanation from somewhere else and they didn't give any contact also. If something goes wrong then they give just a name and google yourself and look for a place to ask for Cheesy sick.

Hey Mr newbie, so you bought and sold XP for the same price. I don't know if am buying this story.

I was talking about filled orders. There is no open orders. And this amount of BTC is still gone from my account.

Creating a sell or buy order does not mean you get it all filled. There can be partial fills, in that case you would still have open orders with the difference.

You can check your open orders under „My Orders“ or „Open orders“ under Account.
There can be unlimited fill orders per buy/sell order but also none when nobody on the market fills your order.

I think our support was not fully informed about this either, but as they say, it’s a misunderstanding.

For new coin registrations, does the Cryptobridge team go out and "recruit" coins to the site or do the coin creators need to register themselves? Keen to see TRX and ETH on here. This would skyrocket the daily transaction value.

ETH is scheduled and probably coming soon.
tokens too

According to the website road map, support for ETH based coins were meant to be up and running in December. Can we please get an updated road map?
