Just got back from vacation and now catching up with the CSC giveaways, emails and messages. Progress has been made with casinocoinj and it's currently being tested -- aiming to have the source available this week.

http://csc.scryptmining.com has been updated to the latest source.    Thanks to all the active miners.

Don't forget, any donation % you set at this pool, goes directly back to the dev fund for this coin!  The pool keeps none of these earnings.   Come mine at the pool that gives back to the further improvement of the coin for the long term!

These donations really help the growth of CasinoCoin. Since CSC wasn't premined, CSC contributions to fund new integrations and promote CSC have come from donations and from my own personal mining. I just wanted to drop a line and thank those who have contributed so far!

What does this mean? Huh

I found a similar issue with the Bitcoin client -- it appears that your local blockchain may have been corrupted.

https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/issues/1513

Quote
Your blk0001.dat or blkindex.dat file got corrupted somehow (did you run out of disk space perhaps?). To recover, backup your wallet.dat file, remove everything except for wallet.dat from the bitcoin data directory, and re-run.

In this case, substitute the bitcoin directory with the CasinoCoin directory (in Windows Explorer, type %appdata%/CasinoCoin in the path bar and hit enter). I'd also suggest upgrading to 1.0.0.4 -- the download links can be found in the first post in this thread. Let me know if that works for you.

Have you added checkpoints yet into the client? Just a little protection.

Checkpoints have been updated in version 1.0.0.4. The download links in the announcement post have been updated to point to the latest version. Thanks for the heads up.

I don't think there is an "ideal" retarget time, but imo something shorter, like 200 blocks, is better.

This way, if someone decides to throw their entire farm into CSC, the coin won't be stranded for days on end like FTC was a while ago.

Just my 2 cents.

That makes sense to help lower the difficulty if and when it gets stuck like FTC, but only when the situation arises -- thanks for the input. In such a situation, I'd like to involve the CSC community before making any decisions that affect the "rules of the game" by involving the community in the decision making process and making it as transparent as possible.

CSC is currently the #1 most profitable coin on both CoinChoose.com and CoinWarz.com. Happy mining!

Everytime the diff. drops, a huge 300Mh/s miner comes in and leaves the coin stranded with a high diff.

You should make the block retarget time shorter.

What would you consider the ideal retarget time to be? I've seen arguments go both ways regarding short retarget times -- just curious what your thoughts are.
