What would you consider the ideal retarget time to be? I've seen arguments go both ways regarding short retarget times -- just curious what your thoughts are.

Everytime the diff. drops, a huge 300Mh/s miner comes in and leaves the coin stranded with a high diff.

You should make the block retarget time shorter.

Also an update regarding CasinoCoinJ -- progress has been made on the BitcoinJ port to CasinoCoin, and I'm looking to have it ready for testing at the beginning of next week. Thanks to those that have volunteered to help out with testing and debugging -- I'll be in touch early next week.

I also just noticed the profitability & stability of this coin.  Looks good.  I also like the name.  Lots of Crypto-Currencies have stupid names or names that sound like they are trying to hard to make it sound legit.  CasinoCoin is a solid name, I am going to switch some of my miners over to it tonight!

This coin has a lot of potential, especially when you consider that this coin was only added yesterday to Coinwarz.com and it is already moving up in the list.

What sort of criteria would there be to get lotto tickets? Sounds like an interesting idea and ties in nicely with the concept of CasinoCoin.

We've been throwing around the idea of auto entering miners at http://csc.xpool.net:8840/ into the lotto. Based on a specific criteria you would get lotto tickets. Something like every 24 hours gets you a lotto entry. Thoughts?

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up with my development plans. I'm starting development on a Java library for writing CasinoCoin applications similar to what the bitcoinj library is for Bitcoin. This effort will help build the foundation of the CasinoCoin merchant tools since it is a light-weight implementation that can be used to maintain wallets and send/receive transactions without needing a local copy of the entire blockchain. This will be ideal for mobile apps, payment verification tools, allow integration into existing platforms, etc. The bitcoinj library has been used to build Android wallets, network crawlers and even Satoshi Dice, so having a CasinoCoin Java library will make it easier for developers to integrate CasinoCoin into these types of applications.

I'll be in full developer mode for the next week or two, but I'll check back in this thread periodically.

Merchant tools was what I was thinking about working on next, with a small rewards shop front-end that utilizes these merchant tools and can double up as a testing bed.

Merchant tools is a good next step. This will make CasinoCoin integration easier as well.

If coin is not used by merchants - low value, and sooner or later it will die. As soon as merchants are using it - value goes up and coin will not die while they use it.

Thanks for the support Spoetnik. I have read through that other off-topic thread -- it was pure entertainment! One thing I've learned from that thread is that drama = a lot of views and replies -- perhaps CasinoCoin should take a page from their book  

In all seriousness, my responsibility is to increase the market cap of CasinoCoin through development and adoption of CasinoCoin. The more services that adopt CasinoCoin, the more valuable CasinoCoin will be. Part of my efforts since the launch have been involved with contacting various online casino gaming type services about CasinoCoin and looking at possible avenues of integration. I don't necessarily like to advertise anything unless it's concrete -- that's just my style, but I can say that the conversations have been promising.

From a development standpoint now that the CasinoCoin forum is officially online, I can focus on the next task at hand. At this point, I'd like to leave the gaming aspect to already established gaming entities -- I'd just work the integration angle with them. So instead, I'd like to develop services around CasinoCoin for my next task. I have a few ideas in mind, but I'd like to hear from you guys to see what's important from your view (ie. escrow service, merchant tools, mining calculator, tutorials, etc).

Post your suggestions, questions or comments here. The more activity we have here, the longer this post will stay on the first page of Alternative Cryptocurrencies and will bring more awareness to CasinoCoin (all without the drama!).

Just wondering if this should be the recommended settings for Casinocoin?

I am not familiar with exactly how these settings work and am currently testing them out. My reject ratio was extremely low with the default 1-60-120 but my miner has extremely low latency to the pool so maybe that has an effect.
