I can see smooth and his crooked friends going off now to pump a few BTC into dashcoin just to come back here to say you are wrong.

Such is the hatred of DASH that runs through the veins of smooth and his master risto.

Hell, they bought up all the dashcoins they could, either because they were hoping that people would buy it in confusion or just to have a new "issue" with Dash.  Seriously, how lame can they get?  The sooner the coin is delisted on every exchange the better. I hate seeing people make mistakes, and as a newb in this space, it's so confusing, I believe some people have actually bought dashcoin thinking it was DASH.  Perhaps we should sue them for using the name (they no longer own it, having had it sold to us, and we have a trademark now, which they are violating).

(I know, it's totally not worth it, not worth it to sneeze on these guys, but the principle of it stands)

the hypocrisy! confusion? you are the one copying our coins name, now DSH ticker? haha

and don't monero-rize dashcoin, the DSH coins i'm bagholding isn't bought when you sabotage and copied dashcoin's name  Tongue it goes waaay back

wanna see my dash account waaay back in 2014?

bring it on tanteshit  Tongue

It is a fair question, development of "Dashcoin" will stay frozen and the Github will be locked. The original developer decided not to continue with that project and our focus is DASH. You are all welcome to join the DASH community if you wish to, it is a really promising project.

lold. so this end?

acquiring Dashcoin is no different than getting a previously existing domain name, the acquired project itself will not continue only the DRK project will move forward under a new name

it looks like it  Sad

yup it looks like it...

it is what Evan Duffield and his cohorts are trying to do...

To be fungiblewidely usable in the real world we need much more btw Smiley
Let's see what Evan is thinking about...

Dash already is fungible. FTFY.
He did think about it and came up with Evolution. Up to 1.5k tps should suffice I think:

A block can contain 1MB of data. 1MB is the equivalent of 1,048,576 bytes.

Sendtoaddress=(40+180+50) bytes
Sendmany=(40n+180+50) bytes, where n is # of outputs

1,048,576-180-50=1,048,346 (block size remaining after overhead & input)
1,048,346/40=26,209 (#transactions able to be included in block assuming one input)
Block target conf. time = 600 seconds.
26,209/600=43.68 transactions per second

Your calculation shows the theoretical maximum which is never achieved and as you already pointed out ignores multiple inputs (hence why it's never achieved IRL).

The 7tps figure explicitly refers to (emphasis added):

Today the Bitcoin network is restricted to a sustained rate of 7 tps due to the bitcoin protocol restricting block sizes to 1MB

subtracting 1 input and 1 transaction overhead. Grin

true:
1,048,576-180ni-50n =   Tongue

Where n is the number of transactions in the block, and i is the average number of inputs per transaction.

Dude... chillax.
It's simple math: Bitcoin block time of 10min@1MB blocksize results in 7tps, thus Dash block time of 2.5min@1MB blocksize results in 28tps.

yes, but 56tps for 2MB is not bad. considering with masternode we can theoretically double that number.
plus that we can still raise the size at least to 8MB (or more) if Dash really takes off.  so i think Dash can reach above 400 tps without implementing radical changes.

8MB or more Undecided   The final volume block China have taken into consideration?

VISA can do 8,500 transactions per second

510,000 in 1 min

30,600,000 in 1 hour

734,400,000 in 1 day

22,032,000,000 in 1 month

264,384,000,000 in 1 year

Now we must think of the future If we want instantx technology and knowledge to use dash as digital cash

Being increased to 2 MB right?

with 2 MB blocksize Dash has about 56tps

as Bitcoin's block size limit (1 MB), as Dash's code is forked from Bitcoin. We have blocks 4 times as often though (2.5 mins vs 10 mins), so we effectively can handle 4 times the transactions of Bitcoin, despite block size limit being the same.

Meanwhile new MNs ATH 3769! Cool

I think the theory that the number of MN decrease with an high price is valid, but it seems will start to work at highter range price! (20/30 buks maybe?) Cheesy

I must be missing something here.

According to the Bitcoin Wiki:
VISA can do 8,500 tps.
Paypal can do 100 tps.
Bitcoin can do 7 tps.

DASH can only process  Huh transactions per second
