thanks, are you just keeping all your dash in cold storage or investing it somewhere?

I keep my Dash in cold storage as collateral for masternodes. Normal DASH clients tucked away in virtual machines that I can take out if there is a problem.
Otherwise I have a few DASH change on a hot wallet. I haven't looked into lending out any DASH, I personally like keeping my funds secure rather than on an exchange somewhere.

how do masternodes work?
This is a fantastic resource for Masternode information:

what do you guys use for cold wallet for your dash?
Download Electrum-Dash from www.dash.org. I use that for my cold wallet. It's up to you, though.

I vaguely remember some 'self-funding' coins (not self-governing) back in the alt-14 boom... but the funding structure was different to the MN budgets and more "fixed" in a way, like "1% of the coins will be going to the dev fund to ensure future development". Don't ask me coin names though - but I think I've seen it.

One of the oldest and largest Bitcoin exchanges has spoken and gave their vote of confidence to no other privacy-currency than Dash invented and pioneered by Evan Duffield.

In a final act of surrender, before rolling over and dying, the CryptoJoke that once was known as "Dashcoin" handed over this victory present and tribute of humility in form of a ticker symbol. The Dash community accepts this gift gladly and marches on towards a glorious future.

Dash now officially has two ticker symbols: DASH and DSH and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

How does that make you feel, little mermaid? Undecided

The first self funding and self governing was DECRED

Geez, I heard some shitty coin names, but this is so close to "decrepit", it makes me think this was no accident.

Anyway, I find it interesting how "DECRED" allegedly used self governance first when it didn't even exist back when no other than Evan Duffield fucking. invented. it. That's right: INVENTED. Something all you copycoiners know nothing about.

I'd like to say something about the obsession over ticker symbols. It's important to understand that many exchanges are only capable of having a three letter ticker, and nobody is going to re-code their exchange engine for a coin that has a $40 million marketcap. That's just a blunt, hard fact. IMO, we need to either get on board with accepting DSH as the three-letter ticker symbol, or we need to be proactive in coming up with a different one that exchanges can use.

I wonder if the 3 letter limit was the main reason why they hesitated to add new coins. In my opinion if they are still limited to 3 letters even today then they should know that it is more than time to update their code base no matter the costs.
It's unprofessional not to and will always create confusion. However this is mainly a problem they will have to deal with.
Sooner or later they will upgrade because there is no alternative if they want to be ready for what may come in the future.

ahaaa, i guess math is not your best skilled talent ...

your announce is from: December 15, 2015, 03:10:53 PM
your testnet was working around 01/27/16 09:30 PM
your mainnet about 02/08/16

dash Self-Funding and Self-Governing is live and working since at least 27-08-2015 (https://www.dashwhale.org/p/public-awareness - don't know out of my head if that was the first proposal, but nevermind, it was long before you got a working mainnet coin ...)

so tell me again who was first?

With respect to Dashcoin: we bought all of their trademarks and completely own the name and ticker. Yes, Dashcoin used the DSH ticker symbol. Yes, a year ago that would have confused people. But at this point, I think we need to accept that Dashcoin is dead, and other than the three people that still use it, nobody else in crypto is going to be confused by Dash using DSH as a ticker.

Right now, Dashcoin is #398 on Coinmarketcap, with a market cap of $24,035 and a daily volume of $5. No, that's not a typo: $5. See: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/dashcoin/#markets

$5 of daily volume. Ha!

I hate to admit this arielbit but when I saw BTC-e had added Dash (using the ticker DSH) my first thought was "Great, after all that 'BTC-e will NEVER add Dash' talk that went on ad nauseum in the BTC-e troll box, finally! Never say never!" and then my second thought was "I wonder if that buffoon arielbit is still around? Man, he's gonna be flapping his arms and jumping up and down like a man in a chicken suit full of goannas!" and sure enough here you are! Funny and hilarious is your popping up to sprout a whole lot of hot air and buffoon gibberish. And straining oh so hard to try and work out what you're babbling on with and let's see....what is it....squeezing my ears to try and pick it up....and (good grief!) YOU'RE STILL GOING ON ABOUT BLOODY DASHCOIN FFS!

What part of DEAD don't you understand? At $5 of volume per day that doesn't even represent the suggestion of a pulse let alone a heartbeat. It honestly doesn't matter whether BTC-e uses DSH or DASH. In fact it wouldn't matter whether all the exchanges use DSH, even any (if there is such a thing) that may once have had Dashcoin on their books. DSH is DASH - end of story!

Honestly when are you going to give up and do something useful!

congratulations for your coin being added to BTC-e

I don't mean to ruin your party...I'm just here to remind you to be not so comfortable in using DSH ticker symbol like it is yours..

DSH is Dashcoin's ticker symbol...I hope it sinks to you shill heads  Wink
...

Code:
Market Cap	Volume (24h)
$ 26,065           $ 12
58 BTC             0 BTC

Sorry, it's dead so no one really cares anymore.

EDIT:
Just to clarify a bit more. I personally had no idea that btc-e is going to add Dash and they never contacted me to ask for a "proper" ticket. They picked it on their own. Moreover btc-e admin addressed same concerns as yours few times in their Ru chat and finally said that "this talk is closed" and everyone was like "oh, ok". I heard no complains there regarding this fact anymore. So really, no one cares.

so you are saying that you and BTC-e guys decide that "DSH" ticker is yours now? lol  Tongue .. as long as you don't say "DSH" is not Dashcoin's community anymore then you all are just talk...

Hey it's a great opportunity for you to unload your big bag full of nothing.

1 - register on btc-e
2 - create a DSH address to deposit
3 - send all your coins
4 - sell them all
5 - profit  Huh

ahahah we love you too  Kiss

The first self funding and self governing was DECRED

Pre-mined, thanks. If it has governing from the begginning, why didn't the network hire those devs from the start? Oh, they needed premine.
Took a lot of ideas from Dash but in a bad way. Good luck.

DSH is Dashcoin's ticker symbol

Thanks for the heads up, we did not notice this yet. Must be a typo. Could you please report it to BTC-e support?

I am afraid, that their system is only capable for 3 char tickers. Like it was the case with bitfinex in the past.

@dihydrogenmonoxide

why me?? it is your coin written in another coin's (Dashcoin's original since July 2014) ticker symbol ..you should be concerned...or you really want DSH ticker symbol ha??  Grin well tough luck my friend Dashcoin isn't going anywhere.

@pille

if that the case then DSH (Dashcoin) will have its exposure thanks to DASH (darkcoin) unimaginative copycats  Cool

Awe come on icebreakerhashfastalt, you can try and be a bit more imaginative than claim that DASH is a copy...........

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

so I'm Icebreaker now...this is GREAT..love you guys  Grin

No - you are just one jealous little bitch - hurts that no one gives a rats ass about your bagholding shitcoin doesn't it.....should have bought DASH Wink
