congratulations for your coin being added to BTC-e

DSH is Dashcoin's ticker symbol

Thanks for the heads up, we did not notice this yet. Must be a typo. Could you please report it to BTC-e support?

I am afraid, that their system is only capable for 3 char tickers. Like it was the case with bitfinex in the past.

why me?? it is your coin written in another coin's (Dashcoin's original since July 2014) ticker symbol.

Because you are the only one who cares about ticker symbols Smiley

DASH on BTC-e

Holy shit

This is huge news for DASH, glad I jumped in a while ago

How so? I am ignorant as I have never used this exchange. Where are they based?

btc-e is one of the oldest bitcoin exchanges. it's russian - but based in Cyprus as far as i know.

I think it's a very good news because a year ago, btc-e was full of hate against dash, there was a time where users got banned from the chatbox after they wrote something about dash, also btc-e was always like "naahhh we don't add any new alts, we are happy with what we have" - i think it's the first addition of alts in almost 2 years.

So i would also say, yes big and good news.

I'm flabbergasted that some people here want to second-guess Evan on matters of how to move forward with Dash. He's done a super-human job getting us to this point, and still people want to fight him on where we go from here.

Evan is in this up to his eyeballs, and he knows what's best. If masternode owners need to give up a little power to make things run smoother, so be it. We can't have mob rule democracy. It's been tried and it's failed many times in history. The MN owners need to act like shareholders now and not legislators.

The issue is that people are loathe to give up power once granted, even if giving up that power benefits them.

Actually, I think Evan appreciates the input from the community.  This debate is extremely healthy.  On the one hand, governance has to scale, on the other hand, we don't want to build a Federal Reserve System of sorts.  The question is, how decentralized can we be while still being efficient.  Evan has historically gleaned a lot of insight from the community on how to implement his ideas.  Nobody can work successfully in a bubble, and Evan is wise enough to know this.  He never takes arguments as negative, but rather a great system to squeeze out the best solution.

So in my opinion, heated debates show exactly how awesome Dash and it's community and developers really are.  Each individual team member (and that includes trolls - Evan has said so) wins some and loses some, but once a consensus is made, most everyone moves forward with it, ready to support and watch and see if it works.  It's such a mature system now, it's amazing!  We really are a Dash Nation!

I want to make a comment about Dash needing to act like a "real" company.  This isn't the goal that we want.

A "real" company has a structure that is typically centralized and managed from the top down.  This requires trust from all parties.  You trust the CEO won't run away with the company earnings, the middle manager won't spend expenses on a new sports car, and an employee won't send that secret design to another company.  This is controlled somewhat by laws(stealing funds, company secrets) etc. The threat of losing a paycheck is also very real for the employees or middle managers.  The top managers usually own part of the company and don't want it to fail or they loose their investment.

So now we try to fit this into a dash budget system.  It doesn't work.  Dash is decentralized - not centralized and top dog owned.  So if we assign project managers with decision making ability onto a class of people that don't have an investment nor have specific knowledge for doing that project - we lose the incentive and skills to be efficient.  The only risk they have is losing their position and not getting paid next payroll.  This is a bad interpretation of fitting a decentralized organization into a centralized model.  The 'control' that the core has now, will probably not last in this model either.  If a bad decision gets made, it is very likely masternodes will vote out the entire core team.  The new team that replaces them could be much worse.

The interesting thing about decentralization is that it isn't controlled.  There are a lot of what seem to be random events that happen.  Sometimes there is waste from duplicate effort.  Sometimes there is quick idea generation and execution.  That doesn't mean that it is bad, it is actually much better than centralized for new ideas.  Evan suggested that developing 2 Android wallets was a bad thing - Bitcoin has many mobile wallets and it is great to have options.  At some point, when we have 2 or 3 wallets(or even one wallet with all the feature people want) then maybe masternodes will consider not voting for new ones.  But just because 2 similar things are developed it is not necessarily wasteful.  Many companies develop 2 versions of a product to see which one does better.  Then they only release the better one.  Right now we have some big core and awareness proposals that don't really have any specific goals.  If we can tie all proposals to actual activities, then voting each activity won't be a guessing game in assumptions for what the 'big bucket' budgets will be covering.  And duplication and priority of activities will be easily decided by the masternodes voting.

Let's keep this decentralized budget model going with maybe a few tweaks to make voting out a contract a little harder and I think we have what we need.

This is indeed the challenge.  I think Evan has opened up to us in plenty of time for great discussions on how to utilize what he's come up with.  We have to remember that Evan comes up with power tools that make everything super powerful and flexible, but depends on us to help guide the implementation. So I can see we have another great and heated debate coming up in the next months!  So stimulating!

So, it looks like the Dash Nation thread is starting to get into the detractor's heads  Grin:

It's great that we are showcasing the professionalism of the community in that thread. I've noticed a few more positive comments about Dash on the board already, which probably translates into a better perception by thousands of lurkers.

Thanks to all who are helping me with turning the tide after two years of spin and innuendo. I strongly encourage you to continue!

Thanks, Pablo. I find it interesting that after spamming the forums with Dash hate, they get upset over a simple community Dash thread, created to counter their spin. As traumschiff said, if you don't want to read it, don't click on it. I have no intention of stopping, the truth will be told on that board.

Cheers,

Tao
