14 owner  control about 1868 masternodes.

But there are 3550 masternodes, not 1868.

If this is accurate, this is pretty surprising to me. I would have guessed the top 50% of masternodes were in the hands of just 4 or 5 big whales. 14 is pretty impressive.

more than 50%   : current masternode 3550.
regard  address with about 1000 coins as a masternode

if you check masternode address transaction to make 1000 value, you can easily make masternode owner tree of 3550

example)
8 masternode owner : manual searching
it is possible for 8 Mn owner
if you check transation by program, huge holder also traceable.

Can someone give me the ELI5 of the "PROOF_OF_LABOUR" proposal?

Its a bit over my head to be honest but what i got so far is this :

Core of this budget proposal is about setting up Flow Scrip Contracts & Flow Script Systems through Dash as decentralised medium.
They will help us setting this up, providing code, helping with definitions, helping with the escrow system, etc

Flow script is a contract in terms of flow money through escrow mechanism

Flow Money : GDP for example

Benefits : merchandise, asset, good, product or service with the exception of any kind of monetary payment

Offerer pledges a nominal amount of Benefits to beneficiary and is paid in Flow Money. Enforcement of contract and acceptance by beneficiary happens through an escrow system

You can read their paper here : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxMpUFjkIPHlczZ2NkI4OUdBcFU/view

It could enhance the direction Dash Evolution is heading (by introducing some form of smart contracts) but it seems a lot bigger then just smart contracts and i'm not sure
if we / they can transform the theory behind this all into practical usage.

Edit : almost forget, they also plan to use some form of tokens which will serve as proof of labour from which money will be created in the flow scrip system.
Julio Moros is in contact with me on Twitter. I asked him to start a thread on DashTalk. First impressions: It seems like a reasonable proposal, adding functionality to Dash. Let's hear more.

(i cant help but think of Ether when i read that except it will be internal tokens to make the flow scrip system work)

SELL WALL EATEN !!!!

I actually think that the ETH and BTC revaluations are pulling new capital into crypto in general. Since BTC is the reserve, we all benefit from any non-zero diversification.

I bought a bunch of DASH today Cheesy Will someone help me get to the 3,000 DASH club? 2911 Dash is what I have right now.

If you set up masternodes (2 full and one shared) it will take you about 3 months to get there.

make masternode with remote server.
it is interesting to add one by one.
increase the number to 3 or 4.
add with your payment and  buy dash in poloniex and bittrex ... make an other one.
In 3 month you will have 5 masternode.

In case you missed it or are new to DASH and are wondering where DASH is going with Evolution, check out the interview by Amanda from The Daily Decrypt with Evan Duffield.

There was too much pro-optimism bias in that review and some inaccurate statements about the security benefits.

I was left with the feeling that AISICs are always fairly distributed among a wide group of people, and those people are well intended.  That's not how things go.  After a while mining at breakneck speeds moves to monopolistic mining.  There was an admission that the evidence from Bitcoin has not been reviewed.  Please do that review before pushing the positives and papering over the negatives.

Brute hashing power is defensive, but not if it's controlled by a few or the wrong few.

One of the issues raised about the bitcoin block size increase is that because of the Great Fire Wall of China, if you increase block sizes those outside of China will have greater orphans because bigger blocks can't get out of the firewall fast enough, meaning Chinese miners get more of the block rewards, which would lead to others going out of business and even more centralised mining in China, and in the hands of just a few miners.

ASICs in this instance paint you into a corner you can't get out of because one group has so much hashing power.

Just use a little self-regulation when looking at the positives of ASICs.  Bitcoin is in crisis because of the downstream impact of ASICs.

Thanks to all the implied in the discussion Smiley

It is perfectly possible (and maybe feasable) to let the masternodes write the blockchain.
Why not? If every transaction is IX, then the masternodes agree already responsible for securing the transactions...
So they can just write them to the blockchain as well: let the quorums just write a block.
plus side: DASH gives a bigger incentive to masternodes

If there is a fork and two chains, how do you choose the longest chain in your proposed design if there is no difficulty and the blocks keep coming in both forks in predetermined interval?
