Is there any way to renew domain that you don't own? Never heard about it...
Nobody knows everything...

There is such a thing as a backorder.   I wonder if your backorder will beat mine placed days ago.

It doesn't really matter since the official forums will be hosted on dash.org.  I'm just hopeful I can protect the domain from people with less than wholesome intentions.    Roll Eyes

Anybody know what is with Propulsion? His site should have been funded too.
Hes been constantly pinged for months without reply, could be serious.

'arrogant manner' and such
what are you talking about ?

Sorry, I have modified my posts so they are less arrogant and more constructive in tone while still conveying my point hopefully.

Merry Christmas !
Talk, you want ppl to be smart, think and work. That is where all democracies fail. Over and over since the first civilisations.

Just FYI,  I will try to renew DASHTALK.ORG within 24-48 hours. If successful it will be available again soon while server is still working..
Anyway it might be good idea to bring another forum at DASH.ORG as mentioned above to prevent such blackouts..

PS: I am not dashtalk.org owner.

Sounds to me like the system (DGBB) is working exactly as it should be - some are just more outspoken than others. Democracy at its finest Smiley

sorry
but what is the fuzz about ?

dashwale and dailydecrypt proposals have nothing to do with each other,
can we stop comparing proposals and not take it so dam personal when one passes (and your favourite) not !

amanda did a budget proposal and got voted on
done !
she did not check with the team about marketing funding and such, why would she, proactive as she is , she got the ball rolling !
i think it is pretty cool how she did it. we work with her before on writing and other things, and i know her due to direct contact we have for projects since quite a while.

other proposals will come , other contacts will be made, other shows signed up eventually ,.....

How come DailyDecrypt is a dead cert for blockchain funding and Dashwhale doesn't get a look in when Dashwhale invested a huge amount of unfunded technical effort exclusively on Dash's behalf and DailDecrypt didn't invest any ?

Pretty face ?

LoL. I spot an attack vector.

Check yourselves out. If DailyDecrypt gets blockchain funding and Dashwhale doesn't, this governance policy is dead in the water.

Stand tall.

It's a mountain that we're climbing, not a sandpit. If the blockchain doesn't think it needs Dashwhale then it sure as f*ck doesn't need DailyDecrypt.

Dash whale should have gotten funded IMO.  As far as the Daily Decrypt, we get 2 things out of sponsorship.  1.  We get exposure and 2. we reach out and make a good contact and hopefully we'll continue to reach out to other people in this space.

It's different from Dash Whale, in that this is clearly advertisement and networking.  Dash whale created something of great service, that in the end helps Dash as a whole, but some saw it as just being a service to Masternode owners.  I don't use it for that, but I do use it to comment on proposals, and for seeing what's been proposed.

Anyway, just because one didn't get funded, doesn't make the second proposal any less good.  Though I agree that Dashwhale should have been funded at least for the proposal notification and threads it provides everyone interested in the future of Dash.

Dashwhale is a good project but it's budget proposal wasn't attractive (costs/benefits ratio) IMO.
I think that they just have to ask for a kind of help from community - to adjust their good (technically) project - to change their "model" a little bit to become better (commercially also) project.

Dashninja looks more effective/useful project for me and requires no registration (and no money by the way) - I would support Dashninja instead.

DailyDecrypt... We have to start independant competition between many-many Medias to promote Dash. And this action may help to start this process.
Real permanent competition for budget funding will gradually make such offers more effective... But we have to start with something.

So in other words, these 2 proposals look to me:
1. Dashwhale - proposal for monopolization of budget funding. (large recurrent payments to one player in the presence of free alternatives)
2. DailyDecrypt - proposal that may become helpful for DE-monopolization of promotional budget spendings.

Investors want to see demonopolization - IMO.

For everybody who wants to access dashtalk (to make backups, to see your private messages and so on) but don’t know how to do it - it is still possible to enter forum and even your personal account directly on server (without domain dashtalk.org) :

you have to locate file «hosts» in your OS and add this line into hosts file:

85.159.209.13 dashtalk.org

path to hosts file is:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hosts_(file)
Can we just add the talk.dash.org subdomain and forward to that IP?  Subdomains are usually free.  Looks like a cert also needs to be changed.

In fact server of Dashtalk (85.159.209.13 IP) can also switch off in any moment, similar to domain - because owner isn't available.

So it is better to concentrate on creation new, really official Dash forum (on our own subdomain and server) instead of inviting people to "inevitably dead" and unmanaged dashtalk...

i like both and voted yes for both. dashwhale should submit a new smaller proposal maybe.
i guess because not all mn owners use dashwhale they voted against it but think dd advertising would benefit everyone including non mn owners.

I voted yes for daily decrypt sponsor, and I understand well your points tok. But, It's not a big amount, and I think this can show what can be done "outside the dash sphere"

I wouldn't have said a thing if Dashwhale had been funded. All I'm doing is pointing out the gross hypocrisy.

I am not on board with funding the DD even though she is cute as hell so no hypocrisy here.

I feel confident that Dashwhale's proposal would have passed if he asked for a more reasonable amount and was a little more transparent.  Is $2.5k handed to him worth it considering only a fraction of MN owners use the site?  How does that measure up?

Dashwhale should be charging for certain key features, as he provides a service to those MN owners.  I'm hopeful these services will be baked right into DASH someday if for no other reason than a third party not having my MN info.

Also, if DASH funds projects like web sites DASH should be in control of them.  Everyone should take notice what third party control does when you try to visit dashtalk.org nowadays.

DailyDecrypt is a great show, my rant is not a reflection on them, it's a reflection on the priorities of Dash's blockchain governance.

What I'm saying is that it should never EVER give money to ANYONE unless there is a rock solid guarantee of a return. That return must be specified and measured, otherwise rejected.

No serious enterprise has ever survived on any lesser principle. Notice in all of this discussion, no-one has made an economic case for the funding of the DailyDecrypt proposal. Thats the reason I'm saying it should be rejected.

Maybe I can help clear this up.

The Dashwhale funding proposal only made masternode management and voting easier.  It doesn't increase public awareness, add features, or other items that may increase adoption with users or raise the value of Dash.  It is unfortunate that comments about the proposal focused on developer vs 3rd party since this in my opinion doesn't matter.  People do the work whether they are already working on dash or not.

The DailyDecrypt proposal is a reasonable proposal, but I would have rather seen input from a manager of public awareness proposal.  Is it part of a bigger plan or would they would recommend funding go to other uses?  The sticky part is the open ended public awareness budget.  This type of advertising should be in this budget from what I can tell.  My personal opinion on the DailyDecrypt is that Dash will be making a news every week because we will have new features constantly released - so why pay for advertising.  I see more value spent on advertising to a larger non-crypto audience.  I could also see a huge benefit from Amanda doing a Dash video too.  But again, this should be part of a bigger public awareness plan.

Hopefully the public awareness team steps up with some budget specifics/future planning objectives.  Otherwise, they risk the public awareness proposal getting voted out in favor of individual proposals.

Merry Christmas everyone.

I voted yes for the dashwhale budget, it didn't pass, I though it was sad because I though it was helping dash in it's globality.

I voted yes for daily decrypt sponsor, and I understand well your points tok. But, It's not a big amount, and I think this can show what can be done "outside the dash sphere", and maybe give idea to other third party, of how to use budget system. We need to have exposure even if it seems tiny.

We can't aggree on all vote results.
