No coin is perfect, admitting the faults in its genesis is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of growth.

Sure, we've heard that before.  Weakness is strength and strength is weakness. Nice Orwellian newspeak.

Okay--why is it that an instamine of close to 600 000 coins is being merely shrugged against by most? I have no issue with Dash at all and support it with mining and holding some dash, but I'm finding it difficult to get on board with both the critics and defenders of the instamine.

To me any instamine for a mineable coin is indicative of nefariousness, but with dash/dark/xcoin has innovated so much that it's something that cannot be forgotten, but then also cannot be pushed under the rug. The dev screwed up and a lot of coins should not be in circulation-- it's a fact, totally undeniable that the amount of dash in the world should be less by a few hundred thousand.

Some may point towards the "instamine" of BTC by satoshi as a similar occurrence, and even though BTC was "instamined"(not really, but you know what I mean) for 1 million of the buggers, development and innovation carried on with BTC regardless of Satoshi's stash of a million BTC. The difference is that the amount of BTC held in satoshis address has not moved, whereas all the instamined dash have been used in some fashion.

So to me the defenders cannot call the instamine a non-issue, since as much as you downplay the effects, the fact is you have no idea what the lack of Dash in the crypto-ecosystem could have done for/against dash. Stop assuming it's inconsequential because you cannot say that with 100% certainty, and thinking you can smells of hubris. Admit the fault, qualify the defense with "we know it happened, it sucks and is a black dot on the history of the coin, but look at what Dash is doing now!"

The fact that dash has developed so much in spite of the instamine counts for much and tells me dash is still a coin to watch and mine for the foreseeable future. I just hope we don't get an Otoh pump to throw Dash around again(no offense Otoh, but as a miner the increased interest and Ghs decimated my Dash payouts for weeks). Before anyone thinks I'm just a miner who dumps dash, I am not. I hold all the dash I mine.

No coin is perfect, admitting the faults in its genesis is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of growth.

Wow, the first intelligent criticism I've seen on this forum in about a year, iCEFAKER and AdamShite take note, this is how you do it...

A bit of wednesday afternoon fun with website scraping and rendering, plug your address in (half way down) and set the depth and you're away.
I set bitcointalk to a depth =30 to test the web crawl linking, but why doesn't dashtalk.org work ?

http://blog.algorithmia.com/post/116365814879/how-machines-see-the-web-exploring-the-web

Be warned! setting the depth=70 is almost as much main memory as a monero wallet running, so you might crash  Grin

I just wished to "moneros" a luck (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.11161083) - and DASH price has jumped immediately.

i really don't understand these pump and dump guys, you can make so much more money just beeing a long time investor. You don't need to be Einstein so see that Dash's market cap will go far beyond bitcoins in a few years.

Some (sometimes?) people don't want to wait for long.
They want to feel luck - get quick result - so go to casinos, hypes, betting, day trading, ...

It is kind of gambling, doesn't matter what coin they use to gamble.  Smiley

I absolutely agree...the instamine was a huge blessing in the end.  Instead of being like all the other shit coin dev's out there that are/were TRYING to build a global store of value as well as a fungible global currency out of their parents basement with nothing more then pocket change & begging for donations....we actually had some really money to build real solutions.  These goofs on here  have some conjured up socialistic/communist bullshit about "instamine" being a bad thing and that somebody is getting ripped off...I say bullshit!!!!! There are no rules books stating this....anywhere.   Proudly instamined is going to be my tag from now on...the proof is in the quality of our currency.  We had 600,000 coins that were instamined that actually went to pay real people and get real shit done!   And boy...did we ever get it done!!!! No other coin comes close....

Sorry boys and girls...but fairy dust, socialistic unicorns and pocket lent cant pay full time developers, get things done, as well as develop a serious global currency!!!!  Cold hard cash/Dash does. So eat it.  The proof is in our technology.  Goodnight!

Because living in a socialist country I understood that well and totally agree with you.

You have got to be kidding me !!  Huh Huh

People insult each other, offensiveness is the norm around these, and this gets deleted ?
I smiled at someone's gif making fun of a troll. I even posted a few for fun. None of those get deleted, but this does?

 WOW !!

That was a blatant troll post.

stop trolling.
