Hi Sub-Ether,
I thought I'd give this a try. Managed to install the app okay. Tried sending it 0.1 DASH from the wallet on my PC but initially nothing was received. Looking further into it I see that the network monitor (on the app on the phone) indicates no peers are connected. I added my own MN into the 'trusted peer' setting to see if this helped at all. It didn't. The app initially just sat there not connecting to anything as if it needed some sort of kick-off to get started. The phone's definitely connected to the Internet as I can browse and receive email.
So I tried restarting the phone and reran the app. After a few minutes connections suddenly started appearing, but it took at least another 20 minutes or so before the 0.1 DASH I sent as a test came in (and it had been an InstantX transaction).
So left it sitting there for a while and picking it up an hour later it's lost all its peer connections again. Can't get it to do anything so have rebooted phone again and rerun the app. Still nothing after 30 minutes then after about 45 minutes connections appeared in the network monitor again but only briefly, they've gone again.
So I'm having "mixed results" but the look and feel of the app is excellent.
Thanks for trying!
This is a pre-release though I found it more responsive than the only official version of darkcoin-wallet-1.10.0.apk (no instantX)
Briefly had no peers for a couple of minutes which could have been connection and transmission was delayed but as soon as the peers came back all went immediately(never had 20 minutes like you, have you got an older android OS?)
Send/receive and with instantX tried 15 times and was a complete 100% speedy instant '5 confirmations' success.
Works well for virtually no blockchain download, am upto only 35 megabytes data usage so far, so thankfully minimal bandwidth required.
In summary, this is a usable first attempt at an android wallet that I would advise using with caution(and with backups!)
