After getting a MN running you can send coins from other wallets to the MN address without breaking the MN right?
Yes. You'll only break if it if you send some of/from the 1000 DRK lump, so use coin control to select inputs other than that one when sending out. Anything incoming doesn't matter.

looks like this is just a version change, no protocol change :
Update with protocol change & command-option reindex
./dashd stop
rm ./dashd and just dump new extracted dashd in there with help of WINSCP
chmod +x ./dashd
rm ~/.dash/peers.dat
./dashd --reindex
start MN from cold wallet
./dashd getinfo
./dashd masternode list | grep $IP

Your darkcoin.conf needs to be renamed to dash.conf.
My gran is having trouble with updating her wallet.
Maybe, just maybe, when updating, the next QT wallet can have a send to master nodes button and return when new wallet is updated.
That way, the new wallet can write over the existing one, funds can be seen as pending return, and my gran wont have to figure out how to search for %appdata% before looking for the......you get the picture

Hm... Not ubuntu guru but don't think the reboot delete files..
In AIX it delete file in /tmp that's all.
May be send us your complete history... ( take care if there is some things you don't want to share)
Command : history (each user have his history).
Guess it didn't record any history for my user:In AIX it delete file in /tmp that's all.

But your server look more like a freshly new install..
Looks like your only option as you don't have your config file anyway. Could always download bootstrap or copy and push the datadir from your other nodes to save downloading the blockchain.

And re make your conf file.
