Working in 100DRK shares
and 1DRK to get started per 100DRK for Escrow and Server fee(s)

Looking forward to hearing from you
Mangled Blue

It is good to offer tgis service, but fees seems to be high. If you take 1drk for 100drk , the owner of that 100drk only be making .7 dark a month average. Which seens to be too low until masternodes payment reach to 60%.

Sorry for the slight off topic, but for soap opera fans, one of crypto's more spellbinding plots is currently playing out. The Bitbay rabbit hole just gets deeper and deeper.

Do NOT read this......

My 4 BTC loss is starting to look like it might have some value in that I'll be able to wear the "I was there" t-shirt. (On a temporary excursion from DRK in search of yield - lesson learned).

The Spreadcoin dev is reviewing the Darkcoin code and just posted this: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.9839488

Mr.spread, what's status of masternode and darksend developmnet?
It is far from ready yet but I think I found a potential vulnerability in DarkCoin which allows miners (actually pools) to not pay part of the block reward to masternodes.
DarkCoin wallet checks the following things for each new block:
1) There is a payment to master node.
2) There is a payment with the same amount as a payment to master node should be (30%).
But there is no check that this is the same payment. This means that if you generate a block you can pay 0.0000001 DRK to masternode and pay 30% and (70% - 0.0000001 DRK) to yourself as separate coinbase outputs. Such blocks should be accepted by DarkCoin network but I haven't tested it on testnet so I can't be 100% sure.
I don't want any vulnerabilities out the wild so thought I'd check here.  This is what happens when "Enforcement" is off, right?  Or is this a separate issue and potential vulnerability?

Patched:  https://github.com/darkcoin/darkcoin/commit/ee8174a2c690b995003449a046b036d87ae25b5d  (sorry, trimmed space after every line)

Compiling 10.17.24 now, feel free to update from source
Is there any reward for discovering bugs and vulnerabilities? I have found several other bugs.

Good job! Gives you lots of credibility as a dev imo.

Small new update article in regards to the vulnerability can be found here.

Kudos on getting the issue fixed so soon!

It would be nice to edit and mention that bug is never used only discovered in code audit and patched before anyone can take advantage of it. Somehow artical gives a little bit negative vibe because of this missing point.

I told you guys this guy can code  Cool  He's going to do amazing things with Spreadcoin.

Lets keep this thread on track with Darkcoin. Bugs and fixes, fine, everything else, keep in respective threads. Too many times people use this thread to gain exposure to other coins since it is one (if not the longest) of the most active altcoin thread on BCT.

Sorry about that.  Since Spreadcoin uses DRK code as its core and the dev found an important vulnerability, I thought it was appropriate.  I'll be more careful with my choice of posts in the future.

I think a new developer would be better served joining the Darkcoin community and helping to take DRK from 2USD to 50USD than starting a clone from scratch.

This doesn't really make much sense in my opinion. "Cloning" is one of the beauties of an open-source technology.

The beauty of an open source project is that anybody can contribute to it or fork it to create their own project.  I don't understand what doesn't make sense,  it is a choice, all I am saying is DRK is a young enough project that someone could still be better served joining and helping it grow if their goal is to get a return on their investment in terms of time and energy.  If the goal is just experimenting for science or technical interest then by all means do that, but this is just my opinion.

Agreed. You have the chance to work with a dev team that so far has continued to innovate, you have a coin that has an ever growing masternode network and fairly high network hash. Seems like if you want recognition and the chance to contribute meaningfully, joining DRK seems like the best shot at doing so. At the risk of sounding bias, it will take a lot to get a clone to where Dark is, in terms of masternode count and hash rate (security). Is it possible, absolutely. Is it realistic, that's to be seen.

I also agree completly with Minotaur.
Anybody is able to told me how many coin exist in the market? (500, 1K, more?)
Don't you think that is enough? I think that this dilution weaken the CrytoMarket.

I was thinking about buying some spread, but after those comment, I'll not.

Keep focus on DRK.

Please, let's not start flamewar here. Everyone makes mistakes, we are all human after all.

I don't think there is risk of a flame war.  Its just generally a good idea to ignore somebody with a new account who turns up denouncing a coin in it's official thread and promoting another one.  It helps avoid flame wars.

I do agree with Oblox on this,  Darkcoin is an open source project, there are many people contributing all the time and reporting their findings. Many of these reports were deeper in reach, like the change and the fees issues that were resolved and made Darksend way stronger. Having more eyes on the code is always good, but it should be kept on the context of Darkcoin. Darkcoin has 4 core developers and a quality assurance person now I am sure they will welcome any reports.

There are many reasons why Darkcoin is a great investment that not necessarily can be extrapolated like community, brand recognition, first mover advantage, network effect, etc. I think a new developer would be better served joining the Darkcoin community and helping to take DRK from 2USD to 50USD than starting a clone from scratch. The new developers could take a position in DRK, that would meet their personal financial goals and join the team.  Obviously everybody is free to do what they want but that is just what I would do in that position.

4 core developer and quality assurance did not find bug that spreadcoin dev found.

Darkcoin centralized mining, 5 million coins

Spreadcoin solo mining, 1.3 million coins

There is no reason for spreadcoin dev to join darkcoin.  Spreadcoins value will go up.  Darkcoins value keeps going down.
