I don't think it really matters since I doubt the foundation would dump heavily into bids, more or less controlled selling as need be. Further, I'd personally love to see funds be turned into masternodes for income generation and be self sustaining.

We are definitely going to need some active fund raising beyond membership. We know we have some larger investors maybe the foundation can reach out and see if the can contribute something substantial. Also looking into companies that may wish to contribute would be another avenue. Like you are saying is important to establish a benchmark of what we are looking for I just wanted to point out that we need a modest but decent budget to grow DRK into a billion dollar market cap coin.

I think getting companies to sponsor us is a great idea.

Blackphone will be launching a privacy centric app store in January 2015 and darkcoin would be an ideal currency for them to accept and also sponsor.

I totally agree! Once Darkcoin and it's main features are 100% solid we can start looking at the design and marketing.

New coins know a good design fools noobs into thinking there is a solid product underneath, when in fact there is only fluff.

If we get the fundamentals right, everything else will follow.

Edit: First impressions are everything and if we start pushing it now with a new slick design when we still have problems with the main features, we will lose thousands of people and it will be very hand to get them back.

Edit: Bad news spreads faster than good so I think it's best for the product that it still looks half finished as it's not giving false hope.
