Just used Bitfinex for the first time to buy some Darkcoins and i'm impressed with that exchange.
No problems getting bitcoin in there (just transfer directly into your exchange account) and no problem
withdrawing them to a local darkcoin address.

Is there a possibility an old wallet version will show "incorrect password" if you try to send coins from the old wallet? I'm talking a couple months old.

what do you guys think of the latest XC announce "Xbridge" and DRK not being a part of?

First, it's not entirely sure DRK (or any other coin) has to "join", it's possible they could just mod any coin's wallet to be compatible with it, regardless of if they get a "permission" or not, and those who want to use DRK (or any other coin) with blocknet can download and use the modded wallet.

Second, they've been trying to get their simple chat application to work for months now. So it is hard to estimate how long it will take to get this 100x more complex system working, bug-free, and non-exploitable. When that actually happens, and when people start using it, we'll know better what to think.

It needs a lot of liquidity for a lot of currency pairs. Let's say someone wants to send 5,000 XC using XST's SMS transaction feature. First the system would dump the 5,000 XC for XST's in the internal exchange, send them using the SMS, and then dump the XST's back for XC's. Because of slippage, at this point you might have only 2500 XC left. And imagine someone monitoring the system, and seeing that someone dumps a lot of XC for XST. He could game the system by selling the same amount of XST for XC and place a buy order for XST a bit lower because he knows that soon someone will have to dump the XST's for XC. Bots would just love to play that game.

Maybe they have all this thought out already, and it will work, and they can deliver in less than 2 years, and I'm dumb and seeing problems where there aren't any, so who knows. And maybe just the decentralized exchange they have to build into it is enough of a reason to take part. But again, there's no hurry imo, let's see what happens (and if and when).

Actually got my DRK from mintpal. Shocked Totally thought it was lost forever. The BTC is still stuck, but just tiny amounts.

Nice.  I'm still waiting.  Large amount Sad

I've just searched yours in the debug.log and nothing is coming back matt.

mn1:~/.darkcoin$ grep orphan debug.log  | grep Da3d60a2114b5e

This doesn't really mean much other than to confirm the transaction either hasn't hit the network and/or hasn't yet been orphaned like the previous posters tx. I'd give MP a bit more time, chances are they are manually reviewing withdrawals and/or they need to update their darkcoin software.

Walter

Cheers Walter I really appreciate your time for doing that.  Yeah mine is 216235e6357e78aebacd1246040d0111c2d4e29a808cb999b2959718be1ff38c .

I hope they're still processing it or something.  But strange to have a transaction ID before anythng happens?..

Just checked yours now matt... Same result, nothing coming up in the logs. I'm defo doing it right as when I search the original tx that crowning did I get the orphan tx result.

As you mentioned above, we need to find if falsealarm's tx id changed at mintpal when it finally went though. My guess is it must have but wtfdik...

Let's hope MP work through it and you get your coins back in a few days. Coins don't just go missing so unless they were stolen they must still be there.

Walter

Many thanks again Walter much apprecitaed.  Yeah it would be interesting to know if falsealarm's ID changed.  It's good to see some people getting their coins.  I'm waiting on a decent amount most of my drk's :/ And hope it's not the larger ones their going to have issues with.

Thanks again.

No probs matt. Let us know how you get on.

MintPal claims to have processed my Darkcoin withdrawal via "50c56a07b654862a8bf9b00955dfa27cdc91c4a1d01b02959f7c122bad143fdf" but I can't find any trace of that transaction. Any ideas? A withdrawal processed for another coin has already been received.

I just checked the log of one of my masternodes, your transaction was orphaned:

Code:
grep orphan debug.log  | grep 50c56a07b654
2014-10-16 17:29:55 stored orphan tx 50c56a07b654862a8bf9b00955dfa27cdc91c4a1d01b02959f7c122bad143fdf (mapsz 47)

They must update their wallet and send it again!

That's why you shouldn't do transactions while a network gets updated.

That's a problem for ALL crypto-currencies.

That's a useful command Crowning. Where do you run that? Is the debog.log located under the linux profile somewhere? Can't find it doing a ls command... Any help appreciated!

Cheers

Walter

The debug.log file is in the darkcoin-folder of your masternode or wallet.

If you didn't configure something else, it's in /home//.darkcoin

How long has it been saying this?  Mine showed up in my wallet pretty quickly after it showed up on Mintpal.  It then took about 10 minutes for it to become confirmed in a block, and to show up on the block explorers.

Well, it's been at least two hours now. I updated the withdrawal page with a request but not sure how else to contact them.

Ditto. Feeling somewhat sick.

Does anyone have a support email address for Mintpal?

It was [email protected]

Is it possible Mintpal was on a forked chain? I am trying to justify the incorrect transaction ID someway because the only other alternative is that someone keyed in a bogus transaction and has bad intentions.

Idk :/ It is strange how there is a transaction ID.

Well, after one tweet and one email to the address above, the coins are finally here. Not sure if it's a coincidence though.

Nice.  I'm still waiting.  Did you tell them about old wallet / fork?   That would be an over all fix.  I have yet to get anything.  I have been tweeting moolah.  Who did you tweet?

Mine was directed to MintPal and not Moolah. I am confident having read some of what transpired that MintPal rather than Moolah should be addressed with all of this communication.

@falsealarm_bf On mintpal now, did your transaction ID change? or does it still show the one you posted earlier than was orphaned?
