Good and free advertising is really needed for Darkcoin. Smiley

I hope every TV-show and newspaper will discuss soon how shocking and disgusting anonymous Darkcoin is.  Cheesy

And when we hit 1000$/DRK maybe we will need some rebranding.  Grin

A légpárnás hajóm tele van angolnákkal.

http://explorer.darkcoin.io seems to be down.

Is http://explorer.darkcoin.fr essentially the same site?

I was using explorer.darkcoin.io via Excel to pull balance info for my masternodes.

thanks

Yes, it's a mirror of the official block explorer (as well as http://explorer.darkcoin.qa/ which also appears to be down).

As far as I can tell, Snowden is not on the UK Treasury Sanctions list.

http://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/sanctions/SDN-List/Pages/default.aspx

Am I missing something, can people send him DRKs?

What's the status on using cryptocurrencies in Russia? I know they talked about making Bitcoin illegal, if they haven't done so already they might be thinking about it again with the battering the Ruble's been taking lately. We wouldn't want to get him kicked out of Russia!

With DRK, they would never know  Wink

I know that but wouldn't aim be to get some publicity at the same time? I'm not sure how willing he would be to endorse Darkcoin, or even to admit he were receiving it if he were threatened with deportation.

Not sure about the legality of cryptocurrencies though, so this is just speculation. And for the record, I think it's a great idea.

Cryptanalyst castrated by his government, 1952
I have not followed the minutia of the Snowden situation - big picture only - so I Googled the phrase donation snowden and got lots of hits, including this snippet from an October, 2013 issue of the Verge:

-- snip --

Wikileaks has set up a new website, https://freesnowden.is/ Free Snowden, to collect money to defend National Security Agency whistleblower Edward Snowden.

The site allows for donations by credit card, PayPal, bank transfer, WePay payment, and virtual currencies Bitcoin and Litecoin. It features background information and news stories about the former government contractor. It has raised $21,660 and 116 bitcoins (about $22,950 at today's market price) for the whistleblower's "legal defense and its associated public campaign."

-- snip --

It struck me that one important payment source is missing from the list. I hope we have a good relationship with Wikileaks or that we will shortly. Two birds, perhaps.       Wink
