How is that even remotely accurate with Darksend? I'm well within the top 100 but I am not going to show up because my coins are masternodes.

You're correct - I was too hasty. However, the volume is fairly thin for the last several days. I can't fathom who'd be buying immense amounts of Darkcoin under the circumstances...

Volume in general has been anemic for all alts, yet DRK seems to be a volume leader for what BTC is going around in the altcoin markets. Bitcoin's continued downtrend keeps dragging money out of the alt markets. The more important figure as it relates to DRK is the masternode count as it represents how many 1k blocks of coins are tied up and out of circulation. That number has been steadily climbing and aids in a stronger network for Darksend to function on. People expecting these massive pops on these news releases need to take a step back. None of that is ever good for any security, whether it's crypto or stocks in general. Anything that moves substantially in short order isn't building the necessary support levels for when people ultimately decide to profit take.

How dogecoin have twice marketcap as darkcoin ? We should triple immediately !

dark is the best crypto development, but the price of a currency is not based on that. dogecoin not provide development and the price rises. I hope someday we believe in darkcoin can enjoy a fair price.

While enjoying that the price is going up again, why not also enjoying the DarkCoin Orchestral Anthem, especially composed for the DRK:

https://soundcloud.com/tcherkin/darkcoin-orchestral-anthem-short-version

Or maybe listen to the whole "The Order of the Dark Coin" - Orchestral Suite:

https://soundcloud.com/tcherkin/the-order-of-the-dark-coin-orchestral-suite

If you enjoy this music, feel free to download it and use it to all projects concerning DarkCoin

I also appreciate your DRK donations here: XiG7xsjFrAwtk3iAmxgapycErnErLCxuJQ

Thanks! Smiley

tcherkin created a magnificent orchestral anthem for darkcoin. The short version is only 36 seconds, so it's not too intrusive for the darkcoin.io website. It would be great to hear that anthem when you open the darkcoin.io website. It gives the website that little extra edge/push. What are your thoughts on this?

Absolute not. No sound on webpages. Those are the pages that many people won't bother with due to the annoyance factor.

That's like an unspoken rule to never load sound files on webpages unless asked.
Absolutely. If a webpage does it I close it immediately.

Adding sound should not even be considered.

Ok, guys...But it's still a great anthem! Cheesy (movielover).. Back to darkcoin now..

I love the spirit, keep it up artists of Darkcoin!  Smiley

Most definitely the bash exploit fix. On Vultr, I did apt-get update && apt-get --only-upgrade install bash and my bash was already the latest so I am assuming they pushed it last night.

Not related to bash.

It's clean reboot.

Ah, well there you go.

Near-term AWS maintenance event notice

Dear Amazon EC2 Customer,

One or more of your Amazon EC2 instances are scheduled to be rebooted for required host maintenance. The maintenance will occur sometime during the window provided for each instance. Each instance will experience a clean reboot and will be unavailable while the updates are applied to the underlying host. This generally takes no more than a few minutes to complete.

Each instance will return to normal operation after the reboot, and all instance configuration and data will be retained. If you have startup procedures that aren’t automated during your instance boot process, please remember that you will need to log in and run them.  We will need to do this maintenance update in the window provided.  You will not be able to stop/start or re-launch instances in order to avoid this maintenance update.

If you are using Windows Server 2012 R2, please follow the instructions found here: http://aws.amazon.com/windows/2012r2-network-drivers/ to ensure that your instance continues to have network connectivity after reboot. This requires that you run a remediation script in order to ensure continued access to your instance.

Additional information about Amazon EC2 maintenance can be found at:
http://docs.amazonwebservices.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/monitoring-instances-status-check_sched.html

If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact the AWS Support Team on the community forums and via AWS Premium Support at: http://aws.amazon.com/support.

Sincerely,

Amazon Web Services

So why the windows instances getting a reboot?

You can use bash on Windows, not sure if their instances have it installed or what. I'm just speculating more than anything.

I had a similar message recently to tell me that one of my instances was going to be stopped on a certain date due to it being hosted on failing hardware.  All I had to do was stop it and start it again which launched it on correctly functioning hardware.  All I had to do was start the 6 darkcoind instances I had on there.

Quite reassuring that they are telling us these things.  I know providers who don't...

So here we are. Maybe some big money is taking a position in DRK...

Does not seem so. Darkcoin's rich list has not changed recently and there are no real big moves there https://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/#!rich

How is that even remotely accurate with Darksend? I'm well within the top 100 but I am not going to show up because my coins are masternodes.

Agreed. We've seen huge buys being made and sudden spikes in the number of masternodes running.

None of my wallets ever have more than 1000DRK in for more than a few days.

I personally can't wait to see all those assholes at nicehash, x11, and ghash start racking up orphaned block after orphaned block. Gonna seriously piss off all their users.

Granted that it COULD be intentional and they will update at the last second, but I tend to think they are incompetent/just don't care and are going to be very surprised =)

X11 will wait till the last minute. You can tell they are aware of everything because they are running RC5 and paying out 10%. There is no incentive for them to start paying 20% when they have 2.5 weeks left. Should they pay appropriately, we'd be over 80% compliant.
