That's what those pictures look like, mossy grass or something.  Very dramatic!  Is that where you are from?

I wasn't born there but half my family originates from there and I've lived there on and off for quite a few years.

Re. the trees, yes I know what you mean. The joke is, what do you do if you get lost in a forest in Iceland ? Answer: Stand up Smiley

LOL, Very cool though.  The towns are colorful and lovely looking.  I bet summers are awesome.  I don't want to think about what the winters must be like, LOL.  I never lived in the snow, and probably would slip and fall and kill myself the first winter, LOL.

Yep, right when I finillay got some BTC and put an order.

At least you have some BTC!  I know I'm lucky to have my 2 masternodes, and I have them because of mining since day 2 (couldn't figure it out until then, LOL), winning a CHAOSiTEC's lotterymining pool jackpot, winning a competition and buying about $600 in coins.

But I'd also give an organ to have more BTC so I could buy now!  LOL  If only I could, I'd  know I could be rich some day  Cry  Cry  Cry

But maybe it'll be enough???  I hope so!

BTW, one of my masternodes never seemed to be doing well.  I finally started a new address for it, a new server and IP address plus a new masternode private key.  It *seems* to be doing better now.  So if you have a majorly under-performing node, give it a try.  It's a pain in the butt, but so is a masternode that only wins a coin a couple of times a month!

That's beautiful.  My mom and sister and a bunch of family just went to Alaska.  My sister told me that she was shocked at how, when you get above a certain level, I think around 2500 feet above sea level, the trees are tiny - like bushes, yet can be hundreds of years old.  It all becomes small plants.  That's what those pictures look like, mossy grass or something.  Very dramatic!  Is that where you are from?

I'm not stalking you Mrs Robinson, honest.

But.

Six and a bit hours ago, you said goodnight.

Then you post here.

I'd call that an addiction to DRK  Grin

Looking for any views on, err, my view on Zerocash being DOA.

In particular, anyone think that the Dean of whatever university, John Hopkins I think, where Zerocash is based becomes responsible for regulatory matters if they launch Zerocash?

There shouldn't be any regulatory matters, and the Dean should be praised, however I'm in the middle of Atlas Shrugged and so I'd have to say his ass is in the pan, LOL

On second thought, that Dean might be the one who has the funds to fight regulation.  So he may end up a hero Smiley

************ ALERT **************

Recovery commenced.

BTC pulling out of the nosedive. Alts turning around.

DRK is now a MUST HAVE alt due to seeing off competition and the massive re-distribution that has just occured during the last dip. People are now starting to discover just how difficult a challenge it is to establish a technically successful privacy blockchain.

DRK is pulling away from the pack in this department. That it would do that was always clear to those of use who with a semblance of technical background, but it's now going start manifesting itself at a market level. The longer it digs itself in and RC4 gets finely honed, the more unique and original this coin is becoming. The masternode approach is working and is turning out to be immensely powerful. The first evidence of this is the recent private audit done by the CLOAK team which failed due to vulnerabilities from malicious nodes. (Although hats off to them for having the audit in the first place. I still hold some CLK).

DRK has an advantage here - again from its layered client-server anonymisation approach. It can throw everything is has into hardening the masternodes without having to worry about them being undermined by client vulnerabilities. Yet another endorsement of Evan's early design decision in this regard. (The other being DRK's superior ability to interface with the bitcoin commercial infrastructure despite supporting such an original approach to anonymsation).

This coin is doing everything right IMHO and steering a precision course through a technical and commercial minefield. In view of this (and the current extraordinary market accessibility) I'm increasing my stake in it's infrastructure and grabbing a 2nd masternode.

+101

nice analysis

Amir of DarkWallet fame, wasn't he one of the early Bitcoin devs?

Would be great to have that team contributing to DRK......

Can someone explain what this means please?

With the reward(too high), I thought something's wrong, It can't be...

Actually fee was 9.31.

Transaction was made by Mintpal to several accounts.

Looks like one of vout or change address(at least 9 DRK) is missing.
So 9.x is paid to Miner.
(Custom accounting SW fault maybe...)

Ref :
http://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/11411/in-getrawtransaction-what-is-the-vout-integer-in-the-vin-list
http://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/22744/any-single-transaction-has-vin-and-vout-values-how-can-i-tell-the-address-of-th

Quote
The tx has 1 input, 3 outputs, all in/out indexes are zero based, and the value of the outputs is equal to the value of the input.
If the output(s) are less than the input(s) then the difference is the fee paid to the miner.
If the outputs are more than the input(s) then the tx is invalid.

Academics responding to BitLicences

http://www.scribd.com/doc/237139381/Brito-Dourado-NY-Virtual-Currency-Comment-081414

http://www.coindesk.com/academics-call-revisions-new-yorks-bitlicense-proposal/

This actually is rather interesting news.

ZeroCash is a project that was due out by now, so expect it within the next few months.

However, the uncertainties over the BitLicences may mean that we don't expect it at all. Not while there are academics involved.

Their institutions may like the idea of the R&D and the various funding sources, in particular with Zerocash the funding from various global military sources, i.e. governments, but they won't like the risks of the project on the institutions themselves.

Now add the licensing dimension and the extra regulatory burdens that could make deans liable for prosecution and all of a sudden Zerocash looks DOA while its tied to academia.

First DarkWallet gets taken down by ISPs

Then Zerocash gets pulled by BitLicences and school Deans running scared.

Fundamentals, gotta have those fundamentals.

Genius work Evan: +101

I don't think anyone denied Camo had issues, at one stage it seemed his issues had issues, it was the way he went about reporting his problems...  It was like he squatted down, did a massive turd in his hands, then ran around the RC4 party and smeared it on all our faces when we were trying to celebrate and enjoy some nice moments...

we all have our own brand of communications.....but he is a supporter and does a great job defending against trolls....

he did seem to have genuine problems which I think a few devs were looking into.

its the internet, we don't have house rules and no moderated thread. the best thing to do is just press the ignore button. I think I'm on the ignore list of one maybe two people  Wink

[...] (I'm going to wait till all of the weak hands have left the building then I have some really cool stuff to announce). [...]
I think we are ready. Weak hands left the building Smiley

There is something in this statement that has puzzled me a lot during the last days. I keep wondering. Were weak hands our problem here in DRK? Are strong hands (edit: and also the dev team) aligned with those who try to manipulate the price?
Someone who was part of the instamine must have been dumping since the original peak.

i supported your right to say what you want, but please - instamine.... that is so unnecessary at this point with so many coins changing hands over the last 8 months.

....and now you confirm, in your view, they were dumping out. so no need for this sort of thing again.

I honestly think in a moderated thread without trolls we'd start trolling ourselves....

Anyhoo.. back to work. Too much BCT lately.
LOL!   i agree!  Keeping the thread open is the right thing to do... imo.   As annoying as it is...

Yup... enough for me too... ive got mountains of paper work to catch up on.
