I believe we can have an advantage of DarkWallet:
1. we can offer them a proxy to anonymous transfers via DS+
2. BTC > DRK > MNs > DRK > BTC
3. even so DarkWallet can arrange service like "send your BTC to DRK addres Smiley"
4. volume trading would increase in these cases as well it will balance price with BTC much faster then any other coin.

correct me if it is not a good idea Smiley

Sorry, but mostly I don't understand because I don't completely understand what DarkWallet is going to be able to do.  But yes, if anyone wants their coins anonymized with the best service, that's what they'll have to do. Smiley

Oh, and ignition, it's coming up on 8 months now, LOL - 8 months yesterday!

Look at that, 8 months old, and we have working Anon going through independent code review by an industry thought leader in anonymity...

Go on... one person...tell me that this isn't the sexiest project in crypto right now... I dare you... I double dare you!

 Wink

Its not. And I can back that up.

Its the best project in the global consumer financial space - its actually eCash.

Haha I was ready for a big debate... I was expecting you to say something like Ethereum where I would have sat here and clicked  Roll Eyes at least 500 times.

 Cheesy

are you kidding me? Ethereum is supposed to be a platform like android? I don't know. But even Android needs a payment tool to operate unless you want to give your shit away for free.

....is there a better project than eCash? CASH. OVER. THE. FUCKING. INTERNET.

Hello Everyone,

If you're running a larger than normal wallet and set "Amount to anonymize" to a really high amount, the client will prioritize money that has not been denominated, in effect denominating the entire amount ONCE (this could look  like the round > 1 bug, but it's not). No input will reach 2 rounds before that amount is met. When the client detects you've reached the threshold you set, it will then start denominating round 2, then 3, etc.

From the looks of the thread all issues users are experiencing are not bugs at this point, just a misunderstanding of how Darksend works. All major bugs have been resolved and I'm going to move on to RC5 and other unique features of Darkcoin that we've had in the works for awhile (I'm going to wait till all of the weak hands have left the building then I have some really cool stuff to announce).

Shuttt.... its a secret

ok.

This is the dance we must all learn when we hit $10, $20, $50, $100, etc

After watching the big dumps at > 10k DRK size and total dump equal over 100k DRKs last two days, I wonder these manipulators/weak hands still have some DRKs left? I might guess that cheap DRK < 1.5$ time for me is over? Sad

Academics responding to BitLicences

http://www.scribd.com/doc/237139381/Brito-Dourado-NY-Virtual-Currency-Comment-081414

http://www.coindesk.com/academics-call-revisions-new-yorks-bitlicense-proposal/

This actually is rather interesting news.

ZeroCash is a project that was due out by now, so expect it within the next few months.

However, the uncertainties over the BitLicences may mean that we don't expect it at all. Not while there are academics involved.

Their institutions may like the idea of the R&D and the various funding sources, in particular with Zerocash the funding from various global military sources, i.e. governments, but they won't like the risks of the project on the institutions themselves.

Now add the licensing dimension and the extra regulatory burdens that could make deans liable for prosecution and all of a sudden Zerocash looks DOA while its tied to academia.

First DarkWallet gets taken down by ISPs

Then Zerocash gets pulled by BitLicences and school Deans running scared.

Fundamentals, gotta have those fundamentals.

err, yeah its a good idea

DRK <> BTC Exchanges

You don't actually need an exchange as such....you just need an exchange mechanism that collects inputs of DRK or BTC and matches the two at an acceptable strike point.

Bob wants to sell 1 BTC

Jane wants to sell 1 DRK ( Grin)

Both Bob and Jane send their coins to a holding address, effectively an escrow, and when there are two equally matched transactions, they are executed.

Probably not that far removed from what Master Nodes do now with their 8 rounds.

DRK Master Nodes as decentralised BTC exchanges....make it so.......

edit

actually, you can match any two pairs with DRK.....oh, so make it so.....

In the corporate world, I haven't come across a large scale technology implementation that didn't take at least between 3-5 years.  From inception to business as usual...  This is also with dedicated resources and mostly generous budgets...

Some of these coins, making big plans, drawing complicated diagrams, promising to change the world in 3-6 months, it's like reading a comic book...

Dark is only 6 months old isn't it?  It's an impressive achievement we've got a live working solution in such a short space of time.

Any project I've worked on, I'm still doing specifications after 6 months, talking out of my arse, drawing up process maps, thinking to myself "how the fuck are we going to actually implement any of this?"

I hope Evan isn't reading any of this and he's on a holiday somewhere, recharging his batteries, thinking about the next phase...

+1

this is my world atm. functional specs 3-4 months and still not signed off.

any good at java? got a job for you in the UK. lol

might be expanding into the USA, working on a possible project in Texas atm.
