Dark anonymizes the funds ahead of time and is constantly mixing the coin supply. This way when you need to spend, the transactions are immediate no need to wait. People are experimenting with how much time it takes to put large amount of DRK through the maximum 8 rounds of mixing which is an absolute over kill from a practical perspective, but is inevitable to want to test the system limits. But really you just anonymize once at your leisure and your anon coins sit there ready to be spent when you need to.

Ok one further question.. Can you explain what is the difference between 1 round, 2 round, 3, etc of mixing. Why is 8 rounds even an option if 1 round is sufficient? How do you know how many rounds to pick to get anonymous?
The several rounds are just to eliminate the possibility of a large number of masternodes colluding with each other to deanon transactions. The possibility of that happening is very very low with 2 hops and with 8 rounds is just practically impossible. I see, so if I understand you, the delay is from once you've received the coins until you can spend them safely
No the delay is just the time it takes to mix your coins the number of rounds you selected. You take your non anon balance and send it through several rounds of mixing to turn them into anon funds, that process takes time. A couple of hours but only once. Then the coin sit there and you send them directly when you want to spend they are already anon.
Edit: I read your post wrong, you are correct. Delay from the moment you get non anon funds until they are denominated and mixed.

Could you quantify how you will be able to tell when these 'weak hands' are gone? If you ask me, this is the first time in months that there doesn't seem to be a concern over DRK's new lower-low price this morning. That's a pretty good sign of weak hands being gone, IMO.
Disclaimer: I have a sell-all DRK stop-limit at .00550 which I really would rather not see hit, so I may be biased to see DRK's price take off now rather than drop and trigger that stop (so ironically enough I might be a 'weak hand').

It's not the market dumping naturally. There is no reason for the coin losing over 1/3 of its value in 3 days... It's the games a group of people plays. They sold us expensive coins and they still have the power (amount of coins) to torture us until we sell, so as to start a new cycle.
