Let me ask you a couple of things bob,

Do you believe in democracy?

Do you believe in free will?

Do you believe everyone has the right to choose whatever that person chooses?

Making money since I was in the womb! @emc2whale
Too late though.. Cloak has already figured it out and wil always do it better then drk.

PoSA is out and in the open..

Bouyaaa!
Here is why I don't touch currencies like Cloakcoin and Blackcoin.
One of the strengths of Bitcoin and Darkcoin lies in the ongoing proof of work. Anyone entering the field today can see that there are still lots of coins left to be mined. This fact subtly enhances the appeal to newcomers. When a newcomer first sees the capital investment required to secure a PoW network, it strikes an impression. The GPU and ASIC farms actually lend credibility to the concept of and value within cryptocurrencies, as they provide a tangible link between the currencies and the real world. I won't even touch upon the security reasons for PoW vs. PoS.

Why did Cloakcoin only have a 7 day proof of work? To grossly reward the miners with the full distribution of coins up front (minus the inflation subsidy). This is disguised as fair distribution when, in today's reality of renting mining rigs by the day, it enables the equivalent of instamining the full supply. It's cheating, plain and simple.

It has been well discussed how Darkcoin did not have a smooth launch. Say what you want about the early days, accidental instamine or otherwise. At least the community can say that only 20% of the full supply is out there. Darkcoin is designed for the long haul, just like Bitcoin, and I applaud Evan and team for taking the long view.

Forget POW, You can still mine Cloakcoin through a multipool, as for the 7 days of mining, I believe that was fair, I only got into cloak about 8 days in so I missed the mining phase, although I would not have mined it as I believe it's a better deal to just buy the coins straight up.

In the meantime those first 7 days of mining were dominated by huge farms who could care less about the coin and only in it for the money. Those guys dumped at like 8-15K and are crying like bitches now.

I've owned drk and made some money on it, I truly believe that the darkcoin devs are incompetent in regards to getting a truly trustless decentralized anon feature working and that's why I've put a large portion of my crypto holdings into cloak.

I know I shouldn't quote you, but I'm the fanboy/author and I have to do it.

Yes, I'm a darkcoin owner and I'm proud of it. Yes, I'm biased. So you are. The difference is that I'm open with everything, you hide behind a pseudonym and I can't know your motives.

Don't bother to answer, I'm out after this message to keep on with my life. You should go get one.

And yet these trolls have the audacity to call Darkcoin an instamine. PoS= garbage

It's pretty simple: If DarkCoin becomes the long term preferred coin for unlawful trades (Drugs, Guns, CP) on the Dark Web. It will be 50x till 300x of the value today.

If it wont, DRK will be worthless, like other failed coins. The project most likely dies or finds  small niche, were it can survive with its own small scene/use cases then.

The project would die, as everybody would be turning to supporting the preffered Dark Web coin. Who knows which coin that will be.

This is not DRK-specific, all anon coins would die or be semi-dead (without the winning one) by then. As it is pretty obvious that there is only room, for one privacy crypto-currency to establish an healthy community and eco-system, so the coin can survive mid-term/long-term.

The #1 coin for illegal trade, will 100% also be the #1 coin for legitimate private crypto-currency usage. Because of network effects for eg.

don't forget about the 3billionbillions waiting to get laundreuaudé..

also don't forget the most important aspect.. people will use it as cash..

I'm of the opinion that it will be used as cash for legit reasons far more than illegal reasons.  Number one, transferring money from country to country. 2, when more broadly accepted, it will be much cheaper for both storefronts and customers to use crypto coin instead of fiat/banks. 3, store of wealth against inflation (once it's stabilized, farther into the future).

How many master nodes we have available (online), I want to count the profitability of running one (or if there are a site that can show that)

side-note: what is  with the price, seems to be constantly going down.

http://drk.poolhash.org/masternode.html

node count:  800; payment per node/DRK:  0.753;  payment per node/$:  4.298;

The price is relative to the utility.

The utility is private electronic payments that are interoperable with the leading market player, Bitcoin, that is having its privacy challenged.

The recognition of this will become apparent soon enough.

right guys as rc4 is nearing an end and hopefully all goes well, drk will become the only true anon coin.
I feel we should have a two pronged media campaign

1- we should start preparing adverts, posters, videos etc ,lets  promote what drk does that no other coin can do.
2- we should raise awareness of btc flaws like how easy your btc address can show your balance to the world and soon link it to your ip address. its like have your bank balance on display for everyone to see with your postcode below. But do it nicely ,we dont want make btc look bad,lol

we should only use 100% facts to prevent troll attacks.
If we start now we can have somethings ready for people who hold drk to use to pass on the message...that drk is the ultimate coin. ;-)

Let me pretty up the thread again.  Grin

These are great !!! These are very well done & tasteful & more appropriate IMO.

Agreed  Grin

What's happening to price!!!! Why DRK crashing?? I have these(insert X) concerns about DRK!!  Undecided Huh

Concern Trolling

Quote
A person who posts on a blog thread, in the guise of "concern," to disrupt dialogue or undermine morale by pointing out that posters and/or the site may be getting themselves in trouble, usually with an authority or power. They point out problems that don't really exist. The intent is to derail, stifle, control, the dialogue. It is viewed as insincere and condescending.

A concern troll on a progressive blog might write, "I don't think it's wise to say things like that because you might get in trouble with the government." Or, "This controversy is making your side look disorganized."

Sweet!! I love that panel ! Kristov has already "contributed" a little to the code too. This is serious business for DRK Grin

So you have a guy that has "contributed" to the code getting paid to review the code?  Wow.  That doesn't make any sense.  I thought the code was going to be reviewed by an outside party.

Here is a reddit post of mine if anyone is interested.
Droves of what I suspect are payed downvoters are censoring what gets visibility & what doesn't lately.
Standard social media manipulation.

-----------------------------------------

http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2bv2tn/bitlicense_may_be_a_testing_of_the_waters/

------------------------------------------

"Bitlicense" may be a testing of the waters...

Bitlicense may be a testing of the waters by our global financial & political lawmakers.

If we accept this threat without ORGANIZING & innovating workarounds to this spanking we just received, they will roll this out in country after country. All of a sudden darkwallet, darkmarket & darkcoin don't seem so threatning, do they ? An NSA list of all bitcoin users' IP addresses is unacceptable.

We also need a bitcoin foundation alternative. It's time to organize as if we were a lawyers bar association or an International Monetary Council. Bitcoin's opponents are highly organized & are all on the same page. If bitcoin fails, could we say we did everything in our power to bring it to the rest of the world ?

Without open incorruptible non-debt based money, the world's poorest 3 billion have no hope at all for the future...

This is a really big deal actually & I want to be able to say I did my best to help.

------------------------------------------

Thanks
