Is there any plan or strategy what to do (how to fix the network / overcome the issue), when the network is going to fork again in 4 days after the RC3 hard fork?

Please no answers like "The network isnt going to fork, because everybody will be updated." Be realistic and keep it to yourself.

We tested that, anyone on the wrong fork after it is implemented (ie: has old wallet) will be rejected.  We tested it a lot, don't think there will be a problem.  Tested changing payouts as well (going into the code and changing payouts to masternodes to be a higher percentage and a lower percentage) and those were also rejected.  So as far as we can tell, it's all working.  And I'm speaking of the current version 10.10.1 which we all should be running now Smiley  Note I didn't do these wonderful things, more talented people like flair and chaeplin and all the others did most of that work, I followed along as stupidly...er I mean best as I could, LOL.

Wait you can mine DRK using ASIC miners now?
If that is the case, you shouldn't really worry about it, more miners, more decentralization.
more decentralization, more diff, less coins, higher price per coin. Good night.

We are already at the lowest payout now.  Problem as I see it is if the manufacturers make asics and then mine up all the coins (minus the MN).  It would suck and mess up our decentralization.  As I understand it, they did that to Bitcoin (sudden huge hash increase before anyone got their ASIC orders, means they were mining the product before shipment)  This would hurt the coin if people stopped mining due to lack of rewards.

Terminated.

hashra.com shipping scrypt miners, no preorder anymore, direct shipping.
around 5500 for 70 MHs.

Just wondering how our  DRK will react, now that scrypt asics with reasonable power are not just pre-orders anymore.
It likely won't react. More hashpower only splits the pie. Diff is pushed to the wall already. As long as DRK exists, it has that influence on all X11 coins' value so multi-pooling won't do anything. There is no such thing as an X11 coin that isn't used to buy DRK.

There may be short term aberrations, but probably not even noticeable. Probably only detectable on low volume pools, and only internally at that. Mostly due to derpminers not realizing that alt x11 coins do not live in their own walled garden...

100m/h fpga's are $200 and been out for months......

Rumors, did not see any.
Scrypt 100 mhs, for $200, point me to them and I will buy 10.
Or are you talking about X11 ? No proof either, or you have some and give a proof ?

Important Question Guys!!

If I keep my Darkcoin in a cold storage for few months do I still get interest on it or does it have to be on my hot wallet running all the time to get interest.

An explanation on how it works would be helpful.

Thanks i advance

If you run a master node (requires 1000drk can be put into cold storage once master node is running)  you earn drk as a reward.
Otherwise you just have drk that is being kept safe.

Do you think it will help the coin if we convinced exchanges to use darkcoin as a pair currency for e.g altcoins/DRK?

I think i managed to get the local/remote MN setup working, at least the MN is shown in the masternode list, and i cant see any logs with errors (only have debug.log and db.log).. any way to really confirm its working before 20th?

Running netstat shows active tcp connections both to and from the MN on port 9999, so im guessing it works..?  Roll Eyes Huh

Yes, hopefully testing was done on testnet where older versions were used and the interaction with post-hardfork versions was tested.  I have to assume so after that being one of the biggest issues last time.
PArt of the debugging inculded people who failed to update on testnet and were were rejected by the new version... Public knowledge at this time...

Great, glad to hear.

Those crap nodes could potentially band together and fork themselves, but it'll be obvious what's going on; dumbasses. Not chaos like last time.

I'm sure there will still be a few stragglers. We're seeing a few posts here lately of people running ancient builds...

The assurance being that the problems were sorted out and the debug process for that was publicly seen on darkcointalk.org.

Bottom line is, we can't really answer a question that presumes a falsehood. Your question is a lot like asking "Does your father know you're gay?" No matter how you answer, you're admitting to being gay... So, yeah, go read.

The clusterfuck got a lot of attention. Most users are on the ball this time... The clusterfuck would have been a lot less of a clusterfuck if people hadn't had their heads up their asses. There are far fewer people with their heads up their asses this time. Of course, never underestimate the destructive power of a huge mob of neuro-typicals... Have BTC handy. If even one client fails to update, you can be sure the trolls will goad the weak hands...

Just keeping an eye on things.  I would actually prefer 1 more layer of master nodes in the tx process so that a trusted node could be used for the initial transaction.  If I understand things correctly and the master node your transaction randomly ends up using is malicious, you are no more secure than using Bitcoin.  That's sort of like rolling the dice with your anonymity on every tx.  With so few master nodes and the hurdle to run one acting as an artificial price stimulus, the risk is pretty high to warrant an investment to enter the space.
Gotta start somewhere. This is Alpha-grade software right now. So many people seem to forget that...

Building the mousetrap comes first. Feature adds are easy after that.

But, frankly, I don't think it's necessary. It's demotivating from the "malicious node" perspective. Even at current level, a malicious node could hope to see 0.5% of all tx... How is that useful? There just isn't a reason to do it. It's much like a single bad actor trying to go 51% against BTC...

No one is stopping you from darksending it 15 times if you really want to... Anyone educated enough to be appropriately paranoid about it would be educated enough to rely on more than one form of obfuscation anyway. I never believed the "BitCoin is anonymous" FUD that the guv did it's best to spread. Mixers, TOR, exchange shared wallets, shared coin (lols). I still use them all simply because my money is nobody's damn business. I'm still going to do that even with a fully operational DRK 6 months from now. But then, the most solid part of my obfuscation will be the darksends. If I get lazy and don't do anything but the DarkSend, I will sleep easy.

After RC4, this non-issue will be even less of an issue than it already isn't.

The issues that caused the original multi forks has been resolved on the testnet. One of the main reasons it was moved up to this Friday.
