To do that you must have skill or luck. It's better to hold if you have neither.

I agree.

I believe I have both skill and a bit of luck. I sell on the way up. When Darkcoin had earlier run-ups in price I sold all my Darkcoin and made a decent profit. When the price continued to rise later I reinvested.

Yes, if I had held on to my original Darkcoins when I bought -13.9547 BTC worth at 0.0019173 on April 23rd I would be doing great. However, no one can tell when a coin will die and you will be holding the bag.

I sold on the way up for both Blackcoin and Cinni and made a good amount of profit on each of those by doing so and they later never recovered. If a coin does recover like Darkcoin did you can invest at a later price.

People there IS A WAY.  Do a logical test: Is Darkcoin better than Litecoin?  If yes, DO NOT SELL until the coin market caps are at least equal!  I didn't look at a single chart this whole time.

Same thing was said about Blackcoin, Quark, CINNI, on and on and on. You should read the threads on so many coins when the price is being pumped. They all read the same way. They all read that their coin is the best. The market cap will go above Litecoin. The coin will be the new Bitcoin. They all are bagholders now.

btcprice, your seeming lack of personal connection with DRK is concerning. Perhaps you should visit darkcoin.io or can I send you a pamphlet?

I bought all my darks @ 0.00123 - 0.00345 and sold @0.021 but the price still keep rising. I have now this feeling that i make a huge mistake  Huh

I sort of did the same thing a while ago and just sat there in pain watching the charts. Then i bought back in at 50% loss and had to have a few days to process my own stupidity but know i'm happy because if i didn't buy back I'd be down to 90% loss.  Note to self "dont get high and paranoid while watching bitcoinwisdom as your only entertainment"

This rally seems to be targeting 0.027 or so before a potential pullback; if we break 0.027 immediately though watch out because a near-doubling is not that far off from there. This is basically what happens when the next BTC emerges in a world where BTC already exists. The realization that 'holy shit, this is the next Bitcoin and I'm not missing it this time' spreads like wildfire.

Just my 2DRK's.

JL

Upon closer inspection, 0.028 looks to be the number we're being drawn to which will be the short-term make or break....not 0.027.
0.028.
And I use MintPal, always.
JL

Up your's, 0.028!
We'll meet again...eventually...soon.
However if it's still not broken within the next 30 minutes the number rises to 0.0285.

Dat feeling when you've thrown away tens of thousands of dollars by selling before a 20x gain  Cry

Happy for DRK, sad for me. Much conflict.

It doesn't have to be that way. I sold all my DRK twice before re-investing this last time.

Hopefully you made some BTC on the previous run-ups in price and can re-invest on the next correction.

Nope, and honestly I'm way too scared to buy back in now. I blame it all on Blackcoin getting dumped so hard in one night (I had reinvested my DRK into it because DRK was stagnant at the time, and all that happened was I lost over 2k DRK). I dunno I just can't bring myself to trust any coin isn't going to crash hard while I'm sleeping. Sad story is sad!

I traded BTC back in 2011 (and lost 60% after the dump) and again starting November 2013 (and gained 50% or so). Then I got into alts later that month.

Believe me, I've done the same as you, losing coins over night. I don't blame you one bit for not investing now.

But perhaps there will come a time early in the day when the price corrects and your experience tells you that the price will continue to rise for whatever reason you come up with. At that time I encourage you to reinvest in this coin. Set a stop point where you will sell if you lose X%. It takes the emotion and guess-work out of investing.

No one is ever perfect in their investing. But with enough experience I believe one can learn to take advantage of these great run-ups and make decent money.

Good luck in your future investments.

Thanks man. It's so hard to take emotions out of the equation. In my limited alt trading experience (4 months or so now) I've never seen a coin do what DRK is doing, it's always been the same pump/dump shit. I absolutely know, and agree, that DRK has a ton going for it. It is different, but at the end of the day big money doesn't care about that. I wish everyone holding DRK luck, but for me the fear that someone is waiting to dump tens of thousands of coins is too high. Please don't take this as FUD, this is simply the perspective of a small-time trader who knows he's swimming in some deep waters.

And maybe I'm wrong but when I see 100 BTC sell walls get destroyed in seconds I get very worried that that's just someone buying their own order to create euphoria among other potential buyers. Again I'm probably wrong since I obviously suck at trading, but that's my worry.

DRK is at 60 mill dollars market cap. ten thousands of dollars doesn't harm this coin anymore. It's to big already. I hold everything I got into DRK.
This is a good time for DRK to develop more software like, android and apple wallets for example, to grow even more. Bitcoin and Litecoin have such wallets. Go with the big fish, and DRK wil most likely go to the moon....even more ;P

edit: This is absurd. I wrote this message while the coin was 59.blabla market cap dollars, 5 minutes later the market cap is at 61,947,562.
