Dat feeling when you've thrown away tens of thousands of dollars by selling before a 20x gain
Happy for DRK, sad for me. Much conflict.
It doesn't have to be that way. I sold all my DRK twice before re-investing this last time.
Hopefully you made some BTC on the previous run-ups in price and can re-invest on the next correction.
Nope, and honestly I'm way too scared to buy back in now. I blame it all on Blackcoin getting dumped so hard in one night (I had reinvested my DRK into it because DRK was stagnant at the time, and all that happened was I lost over 2k DRK). I dunno I just can't bring myself to trust any coin isn't going to crash hard while I'm sleeping. Sad story is sad!
I traded BTC back in 2011 (and lost 60% after the dump) and again starting November 2013 (and gained 50% or so). Then I got into alts later that month.
Believe me, I've done the same as you, losing coins over night. I don't blame you one bit for not investing now.
But perhaps there will come a time early in the day when the price corrects and your experience tells you that the price will continue to rise for whatever reason you come up with. At that time I encourage you to reinvest in this coin. Set a stop point where you will sell if you lose X%. It takes the emotion and guess-work out of investing.
No one is ever perfect in their investing. But with enough experience I believe one can learn to take advantage of these great run-ups and make decent money.
Good luck in your future investments.
Thanks man. It's so hard to take emotions out of the equation. In my limited alt trading experience (4 months or so now) I've never seen a coin do what DRK is doing, it's always been the same pump/dump shit. I absolutely know, and agree, that DRK has a ton going for it. It is different, but at the end of the day big money doesn't care about that. I wish everyone holding DRK luck, but for me the fear that someone is waiting to dump tens of thousands of coins is too high. Please don't take this as FUD, this is simply the perspective of a small-time trader who knows he's swimming in some deep waters.
And maybe I'm wrong but when I see 100 BTC sell walls get destroyed in seconds I get very worried that that's just someone buying their own order to create euphoria among other potential buyers. Again I'm probably wrong since I obviously suck at trading, but that's my worry.
