Just one question:
When is "Darksend" going to be implemented?
Ive updated my wallet but i dont see any option to use darksend?

I depends what wallet you have. If you have the stable wallet (0.9.3.4) Darksend won't be there. If you have the release candidate (0.10.7.4) it is automatically enabled. There is currently a limit of 10DRK when using Darksend, although that will be increased soon.

OK, i thought the latest RC had been released as the main version.

If we take Scrypt/x11 hash factor into account, tonight DRK passed DOGE overall network hashrate for the first time. Kinda significant because there are scrypt asics in play for DOGE too. Some large farms not into multipooling are mining DRK of late.

Shakeouts during the day -- all day today.

Late at night on the weekend is one of the best times to take a coin to the next level up because there is the least sell resistance from the US.
So coming up soon here. It's 10pm-1am in the US now.
Or it could be tomorrow Saturday night starting around 24 hours or so from now.

Would be a good time to watch.

I was thinking the target is to go over the DOGE market cap (for certain reasons) and then stabilize it permanently at a decently higher market cap then DOGE.
That would mean at least doubling from here. I don't see it as very difficult for the person/s behind DRK's price increase. They seem to have no trouble keeping
the coin's price exactly where they want it. The longer the coin stays at the higher price the more likely it is to stick.

- Clearly DRK is potentially one of the most useful coins since BTC.
- And many of the people that hold it have no interest in selling. As we have seen over the months.

Those reasons and others lead me to think that the price doubling from here is not unreasonable at all.

It's a fun pastime going through old bitcointalk threads for price predictions on BTC, and comparing it to current DRK predictions. Keep this in mind when people tell you to sell DRK now.

Here is one from July 2012 "When will bitcoin hit $100": https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/when-will-bitcoin-hit-100-93307

Greater than a decade, if it lasts that long.

Chances are generally very low for 1 BTC = $100. Unless the dollar goes nuts (which, in fact, has high chance) ...

and then there's the cooler heads...

I honestly don't think so - even all the political and philosophical aspects aside, Bitcoin has the potential to be one of the most efficient online payment systems. Within the next 1-2 years I expect the scalability issues to be solved and some more advanced features to be implemented. Together with many new competing Bitcoin payment providers similar to Bit-Pay who enable cheap and easy integration for merchants who still want to get fiat, Bitcoin is pretty much bound to reach a non-negligible market share in the realm of online/mobile/micro- payments. To facilitate only 1% of those huge markets would require one Bitcoin to be worth > 100 USD. Add in some speculators/investors and you'll get there even faster.

Of course there's all kinds of possible roadblocks (mainly increasing regulatory intervention) but so far Bitcoin has turned out to be very resilient even in really rough times and it may well turn out to prevail against even more serious attacks.

mannie, I've been perusing those "old" forums as well.
According to the poll on that thread (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/when-will-bitcoin-hit-100-93307;viewResults) only 25% of those voters thought it would hit $100 within 1 year (which it did in March 2013)...the price of BTC during that poll was about $8-$9. Over half the votes thought it would take 1 or 2 years. Would have been interesting to see a poll asking how long BTC is $1000, although I'm sure a poll like that would have been mocked at that time.
BTC has definitely carved the path for cryptos, however I think DRK will soon be taking over that path and leading the way pretty shortly here... probably sooner than any of us would imagine and to a greater magnitude.

Edit: I'm actually more worried about this mystery-entity (which bought even more today) selling and crashing the coin more than anything else (http://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/address.dws?188207.htm)

An exchange ?

Yep, after examining the block transactions this address was involved in, and seeing many many MintPal addresses being used to deposit an odd variety of amounts into it on every occasion, I believe it's just another MintPal master address.

Very nice!  The lite blue field and "Darkcoin accepted here" needs to dominate that top part though.  Big enough so the person standing waaay at the back of the checkout line can see it.

HAHAHAHAHAHAH !!!! This just came out on Coindesk!!

http://www.coindesk.com/advanced-algorithms-maxcoin-dogecar/

The part is called ... The Rise of X11!!

Quote
In recent months, innovations have come out of the altcoin community that have pushed new mining approaches and algorithms into the fore. From Scrypt-N to Groestl, more advanced systems for veryifing transactions within the coin network are reshaping the altcoin landscape.

According to a document created by pool operator SuchPool.pw, X11 “provides a very efficient way to mine coins”. The algorithm does not pose the same power needs as other proof-of-work digital currencies, results in lower heat ranges and and greater hardware longevity as a result.

X11 has slowly gained traction in terms of new coin implementation. Hirocoin and québecoin are perhaps the most notable examples of X11 coins. Additionally, the algorithm has been integrated by some elements of the multipool community, with several pools offering X11 as a mining option.

For altcoin miners, X11 presents an interesting alternative that could become more prominent within the ecosystem. Those hoping to increase the lifetime of their mining rigs may want to consider this new algorithm as a viable option.
WTF?

Is this not the second coindesk article today where the author was clueless / deeply confused?

I emailed the guy Stan today suggestion a story on DRK ….>>
