Why the hell aren't people mining att lottery-mining? They are shutting down now because lack of users.

1% fee, with a fun lottery AND support for the community.

It's a scam pool.

and you still refuse to show any proof...

and i still think your the one that used the diff 0 hack... and since you dont think you need to show proof of anything, neither do i have to proof anything!

could someone please calculate how many blocks i would have to "steal" to get aprox 18000 coins that i have given away back.. why the hell would i give so many coins away, and then start stealing blocks as you keep saying.....!!

Say what you want, your pool is dying, everyone can see through your bs, most have jumped ship already Smiley

Just ignore the troll.  Wink

I liked your pool and the idea of the lottery. Liked it even more when I won DRK 139.53279803 on my first week of mining Darkcoin. Grin

besides, chaeplin has shown you proof of no unaccounted blocks... anyone can go through ALL the blocks and see there is nothing hidden, no blocks missing

He shouldnt release standalone miner .mining should be available only with the wallet so botnets can't rape the coin instantly

It will change nothing about the botnets, myself i already know how to mine with botnets, that without the standalone miner.
Just so easy or a bit harder for the little hackers/coders, they can make their own miner tool.

I own 44k DRK. Can somebody explain to me what this whole discussion is on nodes and master nodes? What are they and should I get them? Where?

Sorry, I read this thread a lot but that discussion confuses me.

It's a recently proposed idea, not implemented yet. Master nodes are part of the planned Darksend architecture -- they coordinate the pooling of funds in a transaction. The more legitimate community-run nodes exist, the more resilient the network is to attack. The recent idea is that operating a node will be incentivised by receiving a portion of mining rewards.
Thanks for explaining. If this is implemented, will this 'feature' be unique to DRK, or has it been done before?

Unique to Darkcoin, as far as I'm aware. Darkcoin is a significantly modified implementation of CoinJoin, and these incentivised master nodes would be one such modification.

Yes ofcourse. But saying that my coins will not be secure for support- or profit-usage might mean a lot of big investors not wanting to run nodes until it is vastly profitable. What are the security aspects? ( I don't know all the abbreviations (VM, IP, VS or what they are). A lot is about making everything user friendly even in this end so that the average joe can feel safe and keep supporting, right?

The fact is, operating a linux server in a secure way is not user friendly for newbies. There's a fairly steep learning curve, which is why it's being suggested that only people experienced with securing a system should run master nodes. It's for your own safety. Having said that, there are tons of resources out there for you to learn how to do this. But don't expect it will be quick or easy. It's great that you want to support the coin -- there are many ways to do that, like mining or even just participating in community discussions.

If we have the limit at 250DRK, the person with 1000DRK will just have four "tickets" instead of 1. So the outcome is the same really, with the same security too.

The only difference between 250DRK and 1000DRK is that we'll end up with lower end master nodes. I think we need only people that really understand security, ddos protection and how to run a service with 99.9999% uptime. These nodes are going to be the life blood of the whole network, so those things are highly valuable.

I agree in principle, I'm just not sure I understand how a higher cost of entry ensures those things.

A higher cost of investment and a lot of money as risk will ensure the person at least understands what he's doing.

Later on I envision we'll have master node pools where you can buy shares and receive a percentage of the payout. This will offer smaller investors the same investment, with someone else managing the node that can protect it.

I have more than 1k DRK I don't have time or interest to learn the technical stuff. I would just like to earn interest of supporting the coin as an early adopter, and I would like to do it safely.

I really don't think it would be the best solution to force the master nodes people to have to get techincal ( correct me if I missunderstood ).

Should there then be 3d parties involved offering security for your node with fee ( but that wouldn't work because of trust issues ).

Thoughts?

There's nothing forcing or requiring you to have any level of technical knowledge to run a master node. However if your node isn't secure you run the risk of losing your coins or having your node taken over by an attacker without your knowledge.

Speaking of which: if this idea goes ahead, a fair amount of thought should go into hardening these nodes because they will be an obvious target, especially if most are using the same VM image.

Yes ofcourse. But saying that my coins will not be secure for support- or profit-usage might mean a lot of big investors not wanting to run nodes until it is vastly profitable.
