If you go wayyyyyyyyy back on this thread, when the coin was still called xcoin, someone was selling 500 coins for 0.05 BTC haha.

Doh!

I'm glad to say it wasn't me selling them, but I'm also sorry it wasn't me buying them haha

Not sure why someone took a big dump on Cryptsy, but I just wiped it up. Thanks. Grin

Getting in on some of that sub-14 action myself.

I still have plenty of Kleenex. More dumping please. Thanks.  Grin

Darn, you and I follow same coins. Congrats on the scoop, how much was the steal? You can PM if you want.

I walked away for a second and missed the lower trades, but this is still cool

I have 10 Battlefield 4 codes.

AMD details and T&Cs here http://sites.amd.com/us/promo/battlefield/Pages/battlefield4.aspx

The codes came with a bunch of R9 290s which are busy making some darkcoins. I'm keeping a couple of codes, one for me, one for my brother. I can't use the rest.

Will scratch off and provide codes once coins are sent. If you can't trust me, which I perfectly understand, please pass on the offer.

Sensible offers, PM me please. I don't want to clog up this thread. I post here off-topoic because DarkCoins are preferred Grin

Hey everyone!  Seriously, we need to move the hash rate around, and Lotterymining hasn't gotten nearly the hash rate it can handle.  It's been up and running smooth for a really long long time, he has upgraded the server, and though it caught people off guard, he didn't lose anyone's hashing, and it went VERY SMOOTHLY!

So Upgraded server, running smooth, weekly lottery and the same low cost of 1% as all the other pools, what's not to like?  Jump on into the Lottery Pool, the water is fine!

Small thing that has been on my mind a lot about DarkCoin.

On the main page it says 84 Million coins.

It makes it sound like a lot, but from the block size and bunch of other factors, didn't someone say we would only get to 10 million? Or 10 million in x amount of years.

My thinking:  If someone comes to read the specs, and see that 84 million DarkCoins will be around in the future, it gives the impression that this coin is less scarce that it really is.

Wouldn't be be better to give a rough outline of the predicted amount of coins that will be in circulation per year?.......to show people really how scarce this coin is? (and will continue to be, it's bloody hard to mine)  I'm sure this will help the value of the coin.

What are your thoughts fellow DarkCoin miners / owners / investors? Smiley

Yah, maybe it should read 84 million in approx 70 years, then 42 million in ___ years, etc...  Lol, I can't do the math, someone else do it please, LOL

Actually, the problem is that it's not so cut and dry.  You can't really predict how fast we'll get to 84 million.  If the difficulty grows, and we hit the minimum payout and it stays there in a predictable way, you can calculate it.  however, if the difficulty stays low because people are not mining, the reward will be higher, and we'll get to the 84 million faster.  I guess that's why it's the best we can do???

Yeah that's exactly what I'm thinking.  I know it's not easy to workout as it's not constant.  Maybe some estimates would be good?Just so people know their coins won't be watered down quickly with a flow of new coins.

To be clear, we (bittrex) are not looking for you to "buy" your way onto the exchange.   That goes against everything we believe in.  The request here was to get commitment to do some cross promotional giveaways.  Nothing from the request is being kept by Bittrex; we are only trying to raise awareness for the coin and for our exchange.

Outside of this, we have asked for a small donation of coins to perform our wallet/exchange stress testing with.  If this came across as a "pay to play" request, let me apologize, that is not the intent.  We simply need a way to stress our systems and verify that they are operating as designed.  I'm more than happy to return any donation (minus whatever txfees we incur) at the end of testing.

As a new exchange that is less than a week old, we are relying on the community to help us grow as we help the community grow.  We are software professionals with real world experience on how to deliver secure and scalable solutions.  Please do any necessary research on us to be assured.  We are being as transparent as possible.  We hope we get a chance to prove how we are superior to the competition.

Thanks
Richie

I didn't mean to attack you directly. When you look at these other exchanges (cryptorush asked for 300 DRK for listing, ended up listing us for free) (mintpal/cryptsy with paid votes), you know they are getting every possible revenue source, and I suggest you do the same once you get some volume. The shitcoins deserve to pay IMO, the devs are trying to make money more often than not as their main goal and should be charged for it.

Only important thing in my mind is giving legitimate cryptocurrencies the respect they deserve and build a portfolio of desirable currencies first and foremost. Although C-CEX and POLONIEX both got hacked and have horror stories, they were the first ones to adopt Darkcoin and were rewarded tremendously for it initially.

Good luck with BITTREX, site looks very clean and I'll be registering today.

Thanks for the feedback I totally appreciate and understand it.  My response was just to clarify our position because it seemed we rubbed some people the wrong way.  Our goal is to provide the best exchange for the crypto community and I want our revenue to come directly from that goal.  I personally find the "pay to play" model that some exchanges engage in actually hurts the community by encouraging P&D action.  To be completely transparent, we have accepted bounties when offered, but those go directly back into giveaways that help drive traffic to the coins and the exchange.

I look forward to working with this community.

Stable, reliable pool, try lotterymining.com instead of the huge pool

I just finished checking, and I don't think Lotterypool has had any problems today!  Come on over, the water is fine!!

querytime goes up to 200 then  300 then ... to 600 ms now

hummm  I don't see where to get the querytime.  I've never looked that up, but I do get a steady stream of accepteds....?

Does anyone know when darksend might step out of BETA?

I can't speak for Evan, but I'm going to guess he will want to make it as user friendly as possible.  Dummy proof it?  Right now, he is making it beautifully functional.

But typing "denominate" in the debug window's console is probably too confusing for the average person.

Now remember, nobody here is "average" so you don't count!
