Is mining via amazon or digital ocean worth it ?

How many coins can you generate daily?

It's with amazon. (the cheaper I found)
But it's hard to say how many coin, as it's changing so fast last 3 days....
With 20 instance it's seems that i did ~ 35 ... today
Yesterday 2 day ago more like 75
2 weeks ago with 2 cpu (8 core) like 100... it change really fast and decreasing alot

I did another little improvement of the cpu miner. That needs testing...

This time is just about 5% improvement, and not 20-30% like last time. If you want to test it, pm me.

Pre-sale - March 18
Darkcoin has become my favourite coin literally over night, with arrival of gpu miner. What I like is power consumption, which is almost 50% less than on scrypt, lower temps, and extremely low rpm :-) , and of course community.  I can't say I don't like the name and the logo, but on the other hand word "dark" is always considered as something evil . That is probably most important thing that will keep people off this coin no matter how good or bad the darkcoin is.

it's not that evil is seen as dark?

Please donate if I fcked with your mind

any community ami's for amazon ec2 for the rest of the world setup?

I'm having trouble doing it myself.  I don't know putty, having trouble getting minerd loaded properly.
I setup a few with the tuto that send you in previous post..
I can help you but be more specific of your problems or where yo re blocked..
Updated with the version 1.3 of minerd.. It s working on amazon.

If you succeed to connect to your instance via putty just follow those step :

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install -y build-essential m4 libssl-dev libdb++-dev libboost-all-dev libminiupnpc-dev git automake libcurl4-openssl-dev

git clone https://github.com/elmad/darkcoin-cpuminer-1.3-avx-aes

cd darkcoin-cpuminer-1.3-avx-aes

chmod a+x autogen.sh

./autogen.sh

./configure CFLAGS="-O3 -march=native"

make

yeah that works on the east coast "already" somewhat setup ec2.

I was trying to setup my own in different area's

says minerd is missing
Where are you ?

I've started a draft wikipedia page and would love to get contributions from everyone to make it awesome.

To that end:

lebubar: can I use your difficulty adjustment chart?

eduffield/internet ape: What coin image would you prefer for me to use?

anyone: I could use any and all input about the encryption algorithm(s) and the kimoto gravity well, as well as any information about Darksend that should be public.

I'm just learning how to edit wikipedia, so I'm not sure how to share the drafting of a page, but if someone is interested, pm me and I'll see if I can add you as an editor.

Yes for sure....It's an honor Wink

The Future Of Work
I actually like that logo, however, I understand that it isn't very corporate, clean, etc.  What if we took the same graphic but made it simple blue and white?
http://www.steemjammer.com/images/DarkCoin.png

It needs cleaning up, and I'd like for the 0's and 1's to spell something

No time at the moment though...

Is dark coin yet on the horizons of the Chinese market? No? Then there's no rush mates.

We're just on 2 baby exchanges. That's it. We're number 13 in terms of volume and hovering between number 18-20 on market cap. There's another test tomorrow, could be the final laps of the Alpha stage and then the anonymous block-chain gets implemented. Hold on to your hats kids. This ride is going to be wild.

Take this as what it is a RUMOR.

I read on a chat that BTC38.com might be adding DRK friday.

I don't normally spread rumors, but "IF" its true....... Smiley

How awesome would it be for that listing to coincide with the release of DarkSend?

If you goto their site there IS and new coin being added it shows a question mark there.

I honestly think it would be good for the coin to stay off BTC38.com (and the chinese market), these guys are just pumping and dumping, no concept of longterm investments over in china …… i think it would be good for the coin to mature 1st and then …. hit these markets !
(just my thinking)

I hate the colour of the darkcoin logo, if you're going to have the dark navy background i'd lighten the D, closer to namecoin, worldcoin, nxt.
http://coinmarketcap.com/ with DRK you can hardly see the d. Probably not that big of a deal though.
