You must be american. There is 5.5 billion people that dont speak English at all in the whole world. Only 1.5 billion do speak it whom only 375 million are native speakers (that means theyr first language) .. you arghh.. Its not like you will be paying out of your allowance.. think before you post something permanent on the internet
Or just ignore most of the world and ponder why people dont talk the same way you do.
I really don't like how aggressive communication became widespread on this forum. Must be a defense mechanism induced by the troll activity - nonetheless it does have a negative effect on the quality of the discussion here.
I was talking about ROI. Amanda receives 126 DASH/month based on the proposal. Sure, it will be reduced for the next cycle due to the increased price, but we can just calculate with that.
She is producing a lot of value, creating video materials based on her research in English. English is understood by the vast majority of our target market - it does not have to be someone's native language to be able to understand it. Also, my estimate is that 95% of our target market is in the age range of 16-40, where English is WAY more widely spoken than in case of elder people.
Also, since there are already subtitles for the videos, so if someone doesn't understand English but a subtitle is available in a leangue spoken by that person, assuming they can read (I strongly believe literacy rate is >99% of our target market) the information is available for them.
Another assumption I have is that video recording/editing is way more effort than subtitle translation, and it'd take about 50% of the effort of creating the English version from scratch.
So let's say we created 10 videos instead of one in 10 different languages about the same thing instead of subtitles. Do you think that the INCREASE in the conversion rate / reach would justify the costs over going with subtitles only? Based on my assumptions it would take 5 times the effort for a few percent gain.
I'm not questioning that if it was given for free (no effort, no time, no money, it's just there) it would be great, why not. But since there is effort needed, I doubt that's the optimal way utilize that.
Oh, and as a sidenote - please refrain from making things personal unless really necessary. You are putting yourself in a bad position, especially when your initial assumption you base your logic on is wrong.
