Ah....my bad.  I was looking at the total coins from the rich list and not the block explorer.  Forgot to switch back.

Is the wallet containing the #1 address on the rich list holding 914,627.42 DCM unlocked and minting? Answered.

I was wondering how the weight works. The network weight is 181. Does this mean that everyone that has an unlocked wallet get a portion of that cumulative weight? Or is 181 the average weight meaning that some wallets have higher than 181 and some have lower?

Also, does having multiple addresses with different balances help or hurt your chances of minting? Does your weight reflect your entire balance or just one of your addresses?

Also please stop replying to people that are here to do nothing but hinder growth of DCM.

EDIT: Also, i hope that the developers saw my wallet review.
So Bittrex does not mint. Lets assume all other addresses are minting on the network.

1,350,353 total DCM exist - 897,627.42 DCM in Bittrexs address = 452,725.58 total DCM minting on the network

The network has a weight of 181.

452,725.58 total DCM minting on the network / 181 network weight = 4,482.43149 DCM per 1% of network weight

Hmm.. this math doesnt make any sense. I would need to know the total amount of DCM being minting to figure out if this is actually how the network works.

The total coins in the network now, according to the blockchain (Mintpal + wallets) = 1,347,128.44.  The initial distribution was 1.35 million.  What happened to the other: 2871.56 that isn't showing up in the blockchain?

Actually XBC is doing much better than the current price would have you think. We have a solid team in place, processes established and have covered a lot of ground towards our next deliverables. Also, the XBC community, while not huge is large enough and dedicated enough to get stuff done and has generated an amazing amount of good ideas for us. Of course, now DCM gets to leverage most of that ... so it could work out really well.

I am convinced that if we simply keep up delivering good work, our day in the sun will come; it's just sort of impossible to predict *when* that will be.

I still have some XBC and have posted over there, and in the official forums too. The price is lower than I would expect right now, not only because of the team, but mostly because of MP. It's nearing the top 5 in voting, so it appears to just be a matter of time before they get to the top spot. But I guess because any rewards won't be immediate, people don't look at it that way, so the price, although stable-ish, isn't really that high. Once it gets to the top 3, I'd expect to see some movement.

Well, the crazy thing is that every day new coins are released and about 90% of them seem to have a shelf-life of 2-3 weeks with a single pump (followed by a dump) comprising the bulk of their activity after which they sort of fade out.

It is this reason why I'm convinced that a well-executed, long-term strategy can bring mad value to investors (as supposed to day traders). This is our goal with DCM and XBC and we'll work hard to make it happen.

Hopefully. XBC was of course pumped and dumped, however, but it's still hanging in there.

One thing I didn't pay much attention to previously, but price manipulation is so much more evident on smaller exchanges than larger ones. It's like you see some orders or behavior that almost have neon signs on them saying: 'fake buy/sell order'... pump incoming (or dump w/plan to scoop up cheap coins, repeat process).

And yep, it is sort of amusing in a way how many new coins get released simply for the short term, and for quick pumps. Just watching the polo trollbox a short time one can see how people jump from coin to coin... no real logic behind some trends or pumps either.  So long as it keeps making money (for some people), it'll continue.

+1.  And I for one, would love to be part of a stable coin for once.  There aren't too many out there (BTC, BC, VTC).  The notion of being able to set it and forget it would be awesome, instead of having to check every day to make sure that the coin hasn't lost 80% of it's value.

I'd probably expect some instability for now, but if it gets 2x ipo prices with decent volume, I'd hope it could be stable for a while. We'll find out.

I get what you mean about checking coins to make sure they are still worth something. I used to just put my spare btc (which wasn't very much) into Drk, which was stable for months on end (less stable now, but primarily upwards movement). It was nice not worrying that a coin's value would fall apart.

For everything else though, I have this dread whenever I check the exchanges each day.

wish some day the price of DCM could rise as high as XBC did  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

It probably will. Be patient, you can't expect these things to happen overnight if you want the growth to be sustainable.

Now that I've moved coins from the exchange to my wallet, everytime i open up my wallet it freezes up. It won't do anything.. Any idea on how to fix this?

I've had this happen from time to time over the years with various wallets, the way I fixed it was by first saving your wallet.dat file then delete all other files in the dcom folder and relaunch the wallet qt exe. It redownloads the wallet files, then close your Wallet after it fully syncs, then swap the saved wallet.dat (your original) back in the folder, open your wallet back up and it should be fine.

hmmm whenever i go to open up the file location. Its in a zip folder. when i open the zip folder, all i have is the qt, aka the application launch. I can't seem to find the wallet.dat file . I feel like i'm forgetting to do something stupid.

You are looking for a hidden folder, in explorer make sure you turn hidden files on through the menu then go to C:\Users\"your computer's name"\AppData\Roaming\dCom Make a copy of your wallet.dat and save it, then follow the directions i posted for there.

I'm having the same problem as legacyfighter and I've done all this stuff multiple times but the wallet hangs every time I open it. The debug file shows that I'm on the current block and connected to peers but the GUI only ever shows (out of sync) and stops responding when I try to do anything. I'm on Win7 64-bit btw.

Any fix for this? Tried everything I can think of and it still isn't working.

This is pretty exciting. This could really turn into something great. I've actually been wondering what it would be like if two currencies began working together. This will be exciting, and great for both coins

It might be time for me to reconsider a position in XBC again.  Might be nice to hold both.

Edited to add:  I also wondered what it would be like for two coins to work together, and I'm surprised its taken this long for someone to do it.

Thank you Merk, Legacy, And Steady for understanding the benefits of this collaboration. Our teams appreciate all your kind words. The XBC and DCM communities will be much stronger working together than apart. Holding both coins is not a bad thing, it is a good one. Now back to work for me, have a good night/day everyone!

I just want to say that we're all very happy that the communities from both DCM and XBC have reacted in an extremely positive manner to our announcement. It has managed to push DCM's price up to just around IPO level and also XBC seems to have gained a little. We are positive that this collaboration will help both coins move forward.

Like KreativeKrypto said, head over to the XBC community forums at https://xbcplus.com/community/ and introduce yourself. XBC has an active community with some really active and creative members.

I know everybody wants a higher coin price, but we're up almost 100% from the low (+- 0.0005) of a few days ago. Lets take this as a positive sign for the future work together on the both coin's success.
