Simplifying, in decred the blocks are mined through POW and confirmed through POW + POS.
Making it much safer than using only one kind of mining
The blocks and the prize are the same as if they were mined only through POW, the difference in Decred is that the prize is divided between the POW miners, the stake holders who make the POS and the funding of the decentralized autonomous organization.
Decred doesn't work like the other POS coins that have specific blocks for this mining. The blocks are the same as the POW.

That's a very small variability. Mining calculators are not solid figures set in stone. They're made to provide estimates (accurate estimates, but estimates all the same). Everything looks normal to me.

Solo mining is only possible by wallet without gui and you need to leave your wallet open 24/7. If the connection drops or latency high, you will have missed tickets.

You don't need a pool, you can solo stake. In fact it's more profitable cause the fees are lower, though now that fees are so low again it's not important.
What the pool offers is the ability to stake without your wallet running

That is good news, there are coins out there with a cap op 2 million and they are crazy expensive. I don't know why some coins get such a high price while not really having a function or unique concept. I still think Decred is undervalued, most people in crypto don't know about it
