The Obelisk DCR1 Asic miner for Decred looks very interesting. This will also reflect the price of this coin like the D3 did it for Dash.

holy s*** what the heck are you? I checked your last posts ...

Where is the DAMN Politeia for the algo in use. You want to CENTRALIZE mining like in bitcoin?

Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

uát?  Roll Eyes

Decred's hybrid mining was implemented in a way that centralization isn't possible.
read the docs, please https://docs.decred.org/

Yes the miners don't have the "power" to mine the chain they favor due to the voting mechanism BUT mining itself with ASICs will be centalized none the less.

You seem to greatly misunderstand this concept.

Once again where is Politeia in this case Huh

The Obelisk DCR1, the First Decred (DCR) ASIC Miner looks very interesting to me. I'm really thinking hard about that to order one at the pre-order batch. Maybe this can be very profitable.

Why do you think it will be profitable? Since the D3 arrived, the difficulty of Dash just multiplied enormously.  In the first few days, the payback period was about 18 days, after 6 weeks, it is 500 days due to the increased difficulty.
Is there any reason it will be different with Decred ASIC?

I think if you get one asic miner from the first batch your reward will be a very good, because you get a lot of coins. And with the increasing price what i think, you will make good money.

There is a reason they say in bold DYOR.  If you do get one of these before they are all mined, assuming test phase doesnt mine em all.  You will most likley have been way better off buying decred.

So we can hurry up and mine the last of the pow coins.  Awesome gonna be the opposite of sia releasing asics cause there is a limit on pow Decred.  Nice work we will see 100+ soon
When pow ends ?

At 2500 you would be safer buying decred at 29 dollars.  You can buy more NOW than you will ever mine with that.  Once it comes out.  Its pretty clear that buying now is your best bet.

Politeia Platform Challenge

Decred’s Politeia, a proposal system that is part of Decred’s governance system, has a vast amount of potential uses. As such, Decred can only reasonably explore a few of these use cases on their own.

The Politeia Platform Challenge is a competition designed to discover alternate uses for the Politeia codebase. Competitors will use Politeia source code to address alternate use cases besides a public proposal system and then demonstrate how they work. Decred will choose the best of these on Friday, December 1st at The North Door in Austin, TX, US. The event starts at 8 PM CST and ends at 1 AM CST and is free to attend. Drinks and food will be available for purchase.....

Obelisk DCR1, the First Decred (DCR) ASIC Miner Announced

http://cryptomining-blog.com/9247-obelisk-dcr1-the-first-decred-dcr-asic-miner-announced/

Some of you might remember that back in June Sia has announced their plans to develop a dedicated SiaCoin (SC) ASIC miner called the Obelisc SC1 capable of 300+ GH/S at 500W ot less power consumption according to the latest information. Well, it seems that Sia has figured out that since Decred (DCR) uses a very similar algorithm to what SiaCoin (SC) uses (both being variations of Blake) they can also develop the first ASIC miner for Decred as well. The Obelisk DCR1 should be capable of at least 475 GH/s with less than 500W of power usage and both ASIC miners should be available at pretty much the same time.
So now the pre-sale of the first batch of 4000 Obelisk DCR1 ASIC miners for Decred (DCR) is up for pre-sale on the Obelist’s website along the Obelist SC1 ASIC miner pre-sale for SiaCoin (SC). Both pre-sales will run up until November 24th and they are expected to ship on or before June 30th, 2018. Both Obelisk ASIC miners are available for pre-order at a price of $2499 USD and come with a 6 week exclusive mining period and a $250 per-unit coupon for future Obelisk purchases as a bonus. Now, since this is a pre-order for a product that is currently in development we advice you to be extra careful as we’ve seen a fair share of fails in that area and a lot of empty promises. We are not saying anything for the Obelisk, it seems to have a solid team working on the project according to the information available, we are just warning you to be careful as it is a pre-order for a product that is not yet developed and the final device (if/when available) may as well be different in terms of specifications as we’ve seen that happening as well.
If by the second half of next year Sia manages to deliver on their promise with the Obelisk ASIC miners for SiaCoin (SC) and Decred (DCR) they will significantly change the landscape for these two crypto coins. Now it is yet unclear how this will affect things regarding the use of the Sia file hosting services since it is more than just a crypto coin while Decred is more of a traditional crypto coin. The promise of securing the network better with ASICs is not new, the more important question here however is what if a limited number of people hold most of the ASIC’s power in a network… and then it becomes pointless to mine if you do not have access to an ASIC miner and/or cannot afford one.

Cheap DCR doesn't exist. DCR is declining for 8 month straight now, DCR price fall when BTC pump and fall a bit more when BTC correct itself.
After buying BTC with fiat, no point to spend that BTC on DCR as it would be an instant loss.
I would be very happy if that changes, but can't see the way... The tech is good, Hshare managed to make a billion marketcap out of it... Shame it is not us who profit from out project... Something doesn't work here.

Decred is still in the band of 30-40 top currencies by market cap, not actually losing ground. Price fiat-wise is only a little lower than before.
Given the situation in cryptoland these days, I see no reason for worry.

Also, if you had seen it's performance last year and january this year, you would not worry either.
It was falling slowly all through the second half of 2016, from 500k to about 45k. Then in January it shot up to 0.02 in a matter of days.

Not saying it will repeat this, the situation is different now. Just that this is a coin that is here to stay. Just stake and forget about short term gains

Nice.  Do you think bitcoin will go down?  It always sells for the holidays and visa and maybe amazon will be accepting it.  Wouldnt they wanna kill the price some for the holidays then rally after so they profit the most?
I could be wrong, but I believe with this hype from mainstream and social media, Bitcoin's price have never going below 3k. I think that we will see a correction on the market very soon.

You wont see sub 4K BTC prices ever again.  Even sub 5K is unlikely.  Price hit 6K again last night. Price will climb next couple weeks before fork for new ATH. I am guessing very high 6 range possibly even break into 7s. More and more people believe in this tech now.  I just read that Coinbase alone has 35K new accounts made every single day. That number will grow rapidly too.

You have no idea what your talking about, just repeating a sales pitch or something it sounds like, Coinbase for some time was having 100 thousand sign ups a day so from what you say now there is 75% less.  The fork is over.  Both of them.  The 3 year debate is over.  3 year rally over.  Its time for a major sell off slash correction. There is absolutely no reason to hold bitcoin right now for anyone who values money.  Even the hardware limitations are being reached.  They had to create 2 separate chains to mine for weeks at a time to lower difficulty because its being mined too fast.  All those Coinbase purchasers early this year are gonna dump that income tax check they spent on bitcoin and have a great Christmas before it is to late.   If you think bitcoin will only go up from now on you are sadly mistaken.

Edit: This tech is obsolete already its about to get replaced like the blackberry.

lol. And here we go, about to step over that $7k threshold. Looks like dllhg totally fucking called it. Glad I've held onto my btc Cheesy   Grin

Luckily though, the dcr/btc price is like 1/2 what it was 1 month ago. Nearly time to buy some cheap cheap DCR!!!
