Anyone have a list of current pools merge mining Dogecoin etc? I really like my Dogecoin pool but may as well look into getting more coin for the same hash power!

www.litecoinpool.org  is one of the most traditional pools, in business for over 3 years!

Updated my wallet to 1.8.

But it shows that "Corrupted Block Database Detected."

"Do you want to rebuild the block database now?"

I tried to fix it by rebuilding the database, but every time I open it it shows me the same error.

Any fix regarding this?

Best thing to do is probably a complete rebuild then:

  • Backup your wallet
  • Go to the Dogecoin directory ("%AppData%\Dogecoin" on Windows)
  • Remove everything but "wallet.dat"
  • Go to https://bootstrap.chain.so/ and follow the instructions from step 3 onwards

Are you sure you're trying to open the new doge 1.8 and not the old one?

Yes, it's 1.8 only and not the old one...

With 92 million DOGE mined, the days of hyperinflation and mine and dump are gone. This was a huge turn off to long term investment. With mine and dump nearly out of the picture, investors will start holding their DOGEs long term?

Earlier due to launch of tons of coins everyday , many people were investing in new coins and money was taken out of other coins but now the flood of new coins have stopped and only few good ones are left in the market for investment. May be its time for Doge to shine again.

So, what now? I mine dogecoin and get some litecoins too or what now? Huh I mine litecoin for dogecoin or huh? Woof? Sad

Under the hood the process is you mine any Scrypt coin and can submit the completed blocks to the Dogecoin network in return for coins, in place of conventional proof-of-work. In reality use a good pool and they should handle the details for you. http://simpledoge.com/ seems to be the one most are heading towards.

Can't say that I understand.. so if I point my rigs towards LTC I'll get DOGEs, what happens to mined LTCs?

Simpledoge wasn't too elaborate or I'm just too simple of a guy.

You get LTC and Doges. But doge diff is too damn high now ^^
I got 100 doges in 12 hours with my 1MH

Friend of mine sugested a https://give-me-coins.com to me. Im there since yesterday. Looks very professional pool and hashrate is OK.

So DOGE mining literally got several times harder due that change. Even tho, the same amount of coins are created in every day, that change is still rising the price a bit. Thats nice to see.

Thanks for the explanation.

I wish I could combine multiple auxPOW coins but I thought Doge is still the only auxPOW enabled coin right now or am I miss something?

There are others but I haven't looked into them since it requires you to run their wallet and I have limited resources.

Before Doge switched to auxPoW, a few coins were merge-minable with it; PesetaCoin, TacoCoin and UmbrellaLitecoin.

PesetaCoin has been using auxPoW for quite a long time.

But their hashrate is poor. That means they have lost their chance.

So... I need an LTC and Doge wallet to mine to correct?

It depends on the pool, some pay in Litecoin others in Dogecoin.

Merge mining is working with p2pool!

Currently merge mining DOGE with POT, GLC and NYAN. Will soon add DGC, WDC, CRC, CSC, and ANC.

Need to figure out how to payout any found doge blocks to the miners! Let me know if anyone comes up with something.

Going to try using proxypool to handle the autopayout of doge by having miners use their DOGE address as the password but if anyone else has a better way please post!

What, how are you doing that?  I thought the only scrypt coins merge mineable right now were doge and LTC.  When did all the other coins get the AUXpow merge patch added?  How could this news not be all over the place?

Can anyone else confirm?

Thx

LOL, what...you don't believe me Vlad2Vlad? Tongue  DOGE will accept any POW scrypt coins as it's AuxPOW.

Get the DOGE daemon going and then add --merged http://rpcuser:[email protected]:22555 to the end of your startup script replacing u/p and IP with whatever your using. You can combine multiple auxPOW coins...not just DOGE but I haven't bothered looking into the other ones.

You will see something like "Got new merged mining work!" every so often in the console.

Limitations:
  • Only the local node's hashrate is used for finding merge mined coins (DOGE in this case). Not the entire p2pool's hashrate.
  • Reward on found merge mined blocks go to the local wallet.
  • Have not figured out an easy way to distribute found DOGE blocks to the local nodes workers.

Room for improvement:
  • Enable the entire p2pool's hashrate to work on merge mined coins or at least combine the nodes that are using merged mined coins.
  • Immediate payout on found merged mined coins as cleanly minted coins with no transaction history just like the main coin.

These two item could be accomplished by having an auxP2PoolShareChain for the coins that support auxPOW. It would need to identify the coin and miners working on it as only the workers on nodes with the merged mined coin enabled should get the block reward. Not a trivial task and beyond my time and skill level.

Thanks for the explanation.
