From a hobbyist miner's perspective, it would be awesome if all new coins would be scrypt-jane because then even with 1 gpu I can mine some coins when the difficulty is not too high yet. When the scrypt asics are released to the public, only the already wealthy investors can mine standard scrypt coins at release. But for an already established coin where gpu mining barely pays for the electricity? Dunno..

If it is possible it would be nothing but beneficial. Are any of you at earthcointalk? I am going to bed now, but I'll make a post about scrypt-jane tomorrow unless one you guys does it tonight

If we could make EAC resistant to Scrypt-ASICs it would surely help keeping EAC as alternative for the people. Can it be done?
