Im very exited to see what happens when this coin hits exchanges.
270 000 000 premine. So far very little has been given away.
Still early for drawing any sort of conclusions. We shall see...

Wow that much was premined? Crazy.

But the admitted it in the launch post. I cannot really understand, why they don't make it transperent.
Premined coins:
76293784 EAC give away in this thread:
link
200,000 bounty for xy given to creating the webpage.
link
100,000 bounty for abc for creating earthaddress.org
link
and so on
-------------------------------
totally given away: 34,692,343,343
still available for give away and bounties: 123,232,343

-> then nobody could say, it is a scam. When I create my coin, I would do it like this!

This is a serious issue, EAC will forever have the label of a premine coin. Without transparency, EAC supporters will endlessly have to defend the premine.

EAC could become a leader in the field if they chose to disclose where the premine funds are allocated.

But considering the premine coin track record, supporters should expect the worst regardless of what the developer claims.

*EDIT*Looking back this issue was addressed and hopefully we will see a solution to this sooner rather than later.

There is no way that makes up a "large proportion of the premine". The Earthcoin account recently made a nice post about bounties but seemed to completely ignore the posts about setting up a public ledger of the premine coins.

Earthcoin, is this not something you are willing to do?

Apologies, it didn't go unnoticed, threw the comment at the team, discussing, will address when ready as it's sensitive and not something we'll just ignore forever nor address in one swoop. In short it's also exposing our bare ass re what strategies we take, who is involved for future moves, sensitive marketing moves, disclosing others ID who may wish to stay under the radar, maybe exchanges or sensitive relationships being out in the open for competitors to see, amounts for certain tasks... premine programme to last potentially more than a year or more so tons of audits with sensitive classified info all made public is probably not going to happen, but again that's just first reaction and few layers of thought pulled back, will discuss more.

yes indeed....

you have to have some coins wen starting out there ,

if you want your " coin" be good then you have to give some out and thats what they did,
in my humble oppinium EarthCoin is def a good "coin" stable lightning fast ( transactions in les then 5 sec : tested ! )

And btw,......... thats what we all wanted right ? a  lightning speed " coin" currency's !!
a wallet who loads pretty quick , transactions with the speed of light, what else do you want more ?

ow yea maby a restore funtion in the wallet  Wink ( we have already a backup function right ? i like to have a restore function to !  Cheesy Wink ...)

total of earthcoins at the end is 13,5 Billions !!1 anough to grow way better then bitcoin 21 million and litecoin ( dont now exat how muts  ;-) )

so this "coin" Earthcoin is and will be...forever :

feel like this post whas helpful ? then help me a bit send some EAC's : eY4WcL4tfDmyCeu5Y4SJ3ztHEiJeVRHS6H

thanks in advanced !

Big Discussion thread.

I have no time to read from the beginning.

However, eac has taken little time to move up.

Cheers.

I've startet the wallet and my guiminer with a new reaper ( added the data from conffile) and let it mine some hours, but no blocks where solved.
Should I try other settings to mine some earthcoins?
stefan
Solomining? Give that up. Unless you have like 5mH/s. The diff is way too high!

Well, i thought, because of the fact taht the coin is relativelly new i should give it a try.
I never tryd poolmining bevore, so I assume, that I have to register in a pool and then follow the instructions on the poolsite?

I'd like to get a few more testers fast to see if we can find a block and test payouts. I've modified the p2pool code and am testing this. I currently have a few hashers now but would love to get more. There is perhaps a reward involved if the dev wants to team up with that as posted earlier.

If anyone is interested in throwing some hashing power my way, I'd greatly appreciate it. Please remember, this is in TEST mode only. I have no idea if payouts will work successfully or if we will successfully find blocks, but that's what I'm hoping for. I'm hoping to create p2pool nodes for EAC permanently.

If interested, point your miners to:

stratum+tcp://eac.squiggie.com:19330

Use your payout address as your username and anything as your password. For example, here is a sample cgminer connection.

cgminer -o stratum+tcp://eac.squiggie.com:19330 -u ef17LZCpsCcx6yhHH1np25R6QwiAD6fYAD -p x --scrypt

Additionally, you can append a difficulty level to the end of your username for the hashing power you have. This helps reduce the amount of stales and orphans you get. To set the difficulty for your specific hash rate multiply by 0.00000116
For example, if your miner is capable of 1440 Kh/s:

1440 * 0.00000116 = 0.0016704

Example Connection String for a miner capable of 1440 Kh/s:

cgminer -o stratum+tcp://eac.squiggie.com:19330 -u ef17LZCpsCcx6yhHH1np25R6QwiAD6fYAD+0.0016704 -p x --scrypt

The following difficulty settings can be used as a guide:

Kh/s        Difficulty
1           +0.00000116
50          +0.000058
100         +0.000116
250         +0.00029
500         +0.00058
750         +0.00087
1000        +0.00116
1500        +0.00174
1750        +0.00203
2000        +0.00232

Thanks for all the help!

I'm one of the people helping to test this p2pool for squiggle (by sending my miners) - we could do with some more miners if anyone is willing to help out?  Smiley

Well I'm off to bed now...one more request - More Miners Please!  Smiley

I would have thought we would have found a block by now, hopefully soon so we can verify its functioning

Hello,

My name is Gustavo -  from Barcelona, Spain - and I am 28 years old. I have been developing websites for some years now but I discovered cryptocurrencies just a few months ago and got really interested.
I have been working for a couple of months on the localbitcoins version for QRK, publishing updates on the official Quarkcoin post on Bitcointalk.

I decided to port it to EAC as it's one of the coins I like the most and believe will grow in the near future. Website will be initially translated in 3 languages, french, spanish and english. I am working on a .po file so the community can help me translate it in other languages. The idea is to allow everyone to buy/sell EAC with USD/EUR directly, just as localbitcoins work.

Here is the screenshot I posted on the QRK post of what I have until now:

Coding for the QRK website is finished, I am still waiting for the graphic designer to give me the design so the design you can see is just for testing purposes. Website should be online in about a week.

Why I ask for donations?

I don't plan to take fees for transactions. I already had great support from the alt-coins developers and users and I think the idea is to make easy and cheap to trade EAC.

My EAC wallet for donations:
ea9LVFy1bB6kGijY39j5xaoY8Vu89hfzYA

My BTC wallet:
1EcPG7m4Rn4Md7auVNRtzrrqHfCD5ATd18

If you make a donation and wish to appear as project supporter on the future website please leave a comment or send me a PM. This project takes me a lot of time and is completely supported by users/developers donations. I am always opened to suggestions, critics or questions so please if you have doubts just ask me.

It would be nice to have the website translated in a lot of languages so if you can help with translation please send me a PM. I can’t answer all PM but I will take note of everything and contact you if needed.

Thank you,
Gustavo

Is this guy a scammer? He is creating a site for Quark, then use it to get donations from DOGE, EAC and some other new coins. Did he finish the site for Quark, when does he plan to do anything for EAC after pocketing a sizable donations?

I want donations too, anyone wants to donate to me, I promise to create the most fancy website for you (no target date of course...) Grin

Yes that guy is a scammer... he must cheated people in several new coins.
