I'm not sure if thats true, I think its about 30 minutes on average between difficulty changes.

I coudl be wrong though

yes it is. I can see difficulty changes every new block on pool.. and it's also mentioned in first post of this thread.
So let's say hypotetically, EAC go huge and diff reach like thousands, if almost everybody stop mining that coin for a few, difficulty goes back around 0.* on the next block?

(I don't even know if something like that can be true for BTC and LTC too for example)

To take this discussion and effort to another post, I've created one here. I'd like to pull coordinated a test off of the p2pool modifications tonight if possible. I would also like to create a donation pot for all the people who participate so we can give them some motivation to try and make this happen. The EAC dev said he would contribute so I'd like to see that happen as well. Please see my post, so I don't hijack this thread with my efforts and distract from official EAC posts.

I'm one of the people helping to test this p2pool for squiggle (by sending my miners) - we could do with some more miners if anyone is willing to help out?  Smiley

I would have thought we would have found a block by now, hopefully soon so we can verify its functioning

I know....I'm keeping the faith   *fingers crossed*

Well unfortunately guys I don't think we ever got the hashing power to find a block. If you want to keep mining to test I'd sure appreciate it but if you need to move on I understand. I'd really like to test the p2pool concept with some of these alt coins though. I really think p2pool has some advantages for the coin over standard coins.
We should agree on a time/date when we concentrate lot of power and attack the issue simultaneously for a short period of time, better to do it that way than few people mining for 2 hours and quit and the next few mining the following hours etc imo.

Great idea illodin!

Will be switching back to another pool - sorry gave it a shot, but need to mine as much as possible with my little PC  Undecided

Do let us know if you decide to do it again at a set time

How's difficulty working for EAC? Loos like it just readjust itself after every block compared to the network hashrate, it's floating form 25 to 45 like the network hashrate, it's going up and down from 1.5gh and 3ghs

difficulty retargets each block

Just updated the website and OP with all the great things you guys are building.

If I've missed anything please point it out. http://www.getearthcoin.com

Thank you.

Is there any way you can help squiggle with his/her P2pool test?  A few of us have been helping now but with no luck in finding a block

It's been suggested that we try to get lots of people throwing some power at it for a set time.

Very nice the updated website

Thats great!

Just as a comment... I would remove ecrypto.net from the main webpage. The site is down, and the creator probably ran out with our coins. Luckily just sent 100 for trying it lol

+1 good call, removed. No clue what to think of them yet, they left behind enough bread crumbs to potentially get caught redhanded so I dunno if they would be smart enough to just scam all coins and get away with it but I also wouldn't be surprised to see them try either.

Juggling quite a bit here - see if you guys can simply message the pool owners or setup a time and start posting that time here as we get closer post more - can't guarantee it will work but I agree you guys should centralize it around a specific time and aim to attract as many as possible to hit it at once.

Hi,

I just download the earthcoin wallet and I'm waiting for it to synchronise. I really like the design of the coin, which can't be said of many other coins out there  Grin
