So just curious. To move to 1.6 all I have to do is install the new wallet over my current and re sync the block chain and I am all set, correct?
That is possible, but better download the bootstrap and you are in sync in just a few hours.
In the start post you find the link for boodstrap.
A total resync will take days!

Happy staking,

Brian

Sorry yes, I realized that from the last time I tried to resync. So once I have resynced with the new boot strap I am golden correct? Nothing to worry about loosing coins etc?

Good news there are 36 nodes on version v1.6.0!
Only 3 on v1.5.1 so the hard fork shall be successful!
Then we can bring EnergyParty to mainnet!
Jan

Are we waiting for the rest, or will we launch in the coming days?

We hope to have this month EnergyParty online.
After that we get special webwallet on top of EnergyParty.
In Q4 we work on user applications BicycleBits with www.ring-ring.nu and smart-meter connection.

Happy staking,

Brian

Japan is using the blockchain in the renewable energy sector.

EnergyCoin is the same leader now in this, will you participate there?

There are now quite a few of these initiatives (globally), some try to coordinate and involve everyone and legacy players, others try to get the business model right.
My assumption is Energycoin is in the latter group. Time will tell if that is the right strategy.

Thx for sharing!
Indeed time will tell.
We choice to make it broader than just energy and give each community/application their own tokens on EnergyParty.

Tomorrow we have meeting with a design studio helping us to design a new website!
Our new branding is on track and that is an important baby step in our roadmap besides launch of EnergyParty.

Have a nice day,

The EnergyCoin and Energyparty Developer
If I run the wallet on Ubuntu desktop, where is it going to reference the energycoin.conf (I used the boot strap just not 100% on directory to leave it on non windows) .   I was hoping it was the same directory at the wallet itself or is the program looking elsewhere because I cant find it exactly.
Ideally when the program is executed it should be in a position to contact the network, it sits at zero clients currently which is where alot of beginners experience may end unfortunately.
Right now I've not got any further on that install though I'm persistent enough to hopefully figure it out, I think alot of the general population just need it to be one click and go ideally

If anyone records their desktop with whatever system they are using when doing a normal install, that'd probably help alot for the average person.  Of course some are ESL and video is helpful there too for clues

Hello STT,

The EnergyCoin.conf (not energycoin.conf, please note the difference in the file name) should be located at the same directory of the wallet.dat.

For Ubuntu, the default location should be:

Code:
/home/YourUserName/.EnergyCoin

You don't need to remember it. If you know where to read the debug.log in the Qt client console, you can always find the actual used data directory, which is recorded within the first few lines of the debug.log.

I have some token and let them at Bittrex for some period. I also have feeling that a big spike in market is on the way. There is already nice rise since I bought at slightly above 2k satoshi. I am not in hurry and will be seeing what come out in few weeks because looks good at this moment.

Hello, is it possible to stake more than 5 coins daily? Lately I started staking 5 coins each day. Maybe my balance is too little to stake more. What if I had wallet with 1 million coins? Would that make any difference?
Yes your balance and size of the blocks in your wallet influence the stake reward.
Check this wallet: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/enrg/address.dws?15942.htm
That is 1.09M wallet and yesterday 16 stakes and day before 14.
An other 98k wallet: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/enrg/address.dws?15238.htm
two or three stakes per day.

I don't know your saldo but with 1 or 2 stakes you have a fair reward I think.
You can easly pay the energy  your RaspberryPI consumes.

Happy staking,

Brian

Thanks. That clears things up.  Smiley

i feel like this is gonna pump rn, we'll see 10ksat this time... maybe   Kiss

Ps: is it ok to leave my coins on bittrex when the hard fork happens ?

The recent spikes in the price and the trickle of news from Jan and Brian sure suggest the price will skyrocket in the near future  Smiley
I have been buying that is for sure.
Resent there is 3M extra ENRG send to Bittrex and the sell orderbook was never soo filled, more then 4.2M!
For new investors a change to buy ENRG for a fair price but new spike is not easy with so much sell pressure.
In two weeks we hear the news if we can start our first application in Groningen.
The first fase is making a good plan and design for the application and in Q1 we hope to go live and link the smart meters to EnergyParty.

Have a nice day,

I have the ENRG wallet up and running. Where do I get those mature coins to start?

Your coins will automatically mature the longer your wallet is online and the higher the amount of coins you have in your wallet.

Hi Brian,

What does it mean "There is no future for EnergyCoin pre v1.6"?

If someone who hold Energycoin do not update before the fork, will their coins be lost, or can they still update after the fork?
You don't loose your ENRG.
But the old blockchain is not supported by us!
Theoretical it is possible that there will be EnergyCoin Classic.
That can be the case as some stakholders keep running their v1.5.1 wallet after the fork.
We can't force people to update but our team don't support EnergyCoin Classic when that arises.
We don't see application and there is no exchange where you can trade these coins.

So don't worry your ENRG is save in all cases.

Happy staking,

Brian
